Heavy riffs and a mugful of caf, and we're good.
Christine listened and then followed Finn's gaze, as he looked after the old man again leaving for the kitchen. Based on what Finn told her, she could understand their connection to one another. Finn seemed to be a more emotional person than Chris had ever thought, or he had given away before. It surprised her considerably, but in a good way. It was like she had broken the hard shell of the man she had interrupted at the bar. A shell he had built up intentionally and might hold against enemies and business associates, but to her fell like a house of cards. It was not a bad thing. She liked him better that way. A lot better. It made him less of a pirate, and that would be pretty inappropriate for a judge to like, wouldn't it?
''Sooner or later, we all have to say our goodbyes to people we love. Yet, we never seem to be fully prepared for it...'' she added ruminatively to his gloomy statement, with one of her own, it hit her. She straightened herself and squirmed on the spot and proceeded to take her jacket off, putting it to the side. Her arms were fine and lean, with subdued muscles achieved from hours playing the guitar and also swinging blasters at bad guys. A prickle crown tattoo decrated her left upper arm.
Chris smiled for herself while examining all the dishes on the table, before glancing up once. ''Hmm, I never took you for a family father, Finn. You've changed quite a lot since Binaros, I can tell.'' she said, wearing a soft smile as she started to pick things out of the different bowls and plates onto her own. Filled dumplings and a couple of seafood rolls, along with pouring up a black liquid in a tiny bowl to dip the delicious treats in.
Chris continued to listen to Finn explaining what happened to his prizes and bountys collected.
''I believe you, Finn... I'm glad to hear and see that the tough guy casually smoking a death stick got other - more honorable - qualities. The life of a judge isn't an easy one either, but me and Pleck do pretty good aboard the 'Riff'' she said, before popping a dumpling into her mouth, smirking as she chewed it down. ''Staaars, this is sooo good. You've nailed it tonight, Finn! It's simply amazing. I've got to tell mr Getsuyan when he returns.'' she declared and glanced over at her date for the night.
