GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Name: Chakwas
  • Designation: Sentient

  • Average Lifespan: 240 Years
  • Estimated Population: Inter-Planetary
  • Description: Humanoid torsos with arachnid like bodies, plated legs, massive ovipositors and some times tails laced with venom. The massive creatures tower over most on their worlds. Their skin taking on their parents hue, hair much the same and chitin of their bodies changing depending on the species used to grow them.

    • Semel: Highly aggressive, stinger
    • Ero: Aggressive but considered more docile compared to the Semel, spins webs

Strengths:
  • Carapace: Thick plate like armored exoskeleton in sections comparable to plastoid.
  • Venom: A semi corrosive venom that breaks down organic tissue for easier digestion and eating. The venom can kill and is required to react with the stomach acid to digest food. Can be milked from their fangs and stinger
  • Webbing: Silky smooth, tough as beskar and flexible. The webs they spin to encase prey or make homes can be valuable to craftsmen.
  • Reproduction: Their mouths contain special fangs, hollow that excrete larva into the body of those they bite. The larva can survive in warm blooded hosts by going throughout the body and attaching to every organ, blood vessel. Then they slowly begin eating away at the hosts body consuming it from the inside until they tear through the body. The number of larva they can put into another body is dependent on how large the host is. (lurmen would not give as much as a hutt or a gamorrean)
    • Covert Reproduction: While infecting hosts through their bites is usually the standard there are other ways. Their in an intelligence to meeting with some species or leaders of cities, getting them to agree to tribute instead of being attacked. In these cases larva can be slowly given to them through food and drink offered instead of biting them. Allowing them to grow and attach inside the stomach where it can take a little longer. Generally long enough for them to return home and once inside the walls or defenses spawn forth to either make a large scale attack or slowly infect and start destroying the place.
  • Racial Traits: A byproduct of reproduction and how they work on many of the species. Racial features and traits can be inherited from the host into the offspring to a point. They will not have all the abilities of the host or all of the species traits into theirs but there is a chance. Example A chiss host has a chance to give red eyes, blue skin or rarely both to their humanoid parts. A zeltron host could give shades os pink-red skin or hair, possibly two livers or rarely pheromone glands.
    • Note: Traits pertaining to the species race cannot be inherited (zeltron empathy, healing factors, anzati lifespan ect ect)
Weaknesses:
  • Hunger: A ravenous feeling in their bodies, they are always hungry, always searching for food and require things they have killed themselves. The secretions that come from their stinger allow the body to start breaking down so it is easier to digest. Anything else that isn't living when they eat it remains solid and undigestable, after a time it will become lodged in their throat causing oxygen deprivation, after prolonged starvation their body starts to turn on itself eating itself from the inside to varying degrees the long it goes on. Eventually after a time their bodies will have eaten to much and they will be unable to recover.

    Size: With the size of their lower halfs they are unable to wear many standard equipment like environmental suits.

    Youth: Their ability to reproduce is often violent and dangerous to the host and the being itself. The larva even within the body of the parent can grow after a time requiring them to find/steal away/attack hosts. Their young eat the body and tear through it usually killing instantly or leaving the host alive just enough to be eaten while they are still conscious. Even after the children are born their hunger continues and they can and will eat each other, whatever else is around them including their parent if they drop their guard.

    Cannibalism: Without the pangs of hunger, the species will gladly eat each other if they fight for dominance. It is a big thing to kill someone you have beaten as the greater insult is to leave them alive. From an infesting there could be up to three hundred larva and only a third survive be cause they have eaten each other.
CULTURE
  • Diet: Their bodies are very complicated, most food in the galaxy is useless to them as the stomach acid they produce cannot break down things normally. It requires a mixture and reaction with the venom produced in their tails to start breaking down the food so that they can digest it. Fresh things that they kill and that are slowly pumping the venom through their bodies can break down once it comes into contact with their stomach fluid. Anything else will just remain in there taking up space and slowly decompose releasing bacteria and sickness for them. So they avoid things they have not killed themselves. Liquids however are different and they can consume anything for sustenance.

  • Religion/Beliefs:
    • As a species their work on many of the things revolves around infesting and taking over. They are the species that waits in the shadows and gives something for residents of the planet to call the other. The dark things wanting to steal you away. However they are not as mindless and simple as some others would make them seem. They do have thoughts, ambitions and some dreams but they are also a very violent and dangerous race. Choosing to make art or music from the sounds of those they have killed and defeated. The bonds of family are seen a little differently as clans can choose how they wish to live in the caves.

      Their society and structure is a loose collection of clans, generally a family unit for a time that will fight against others as well as among themselves. Hyper violent and bent on killing as many things as they can but with the purpose of only the strongest living. The right to rule and decide what is right within their family units. When they fightere are generally a small set of rules, duels are one on one and whoever wins by what means they can wins earning the right to consume the flesh of the defeated. That is one of the key things, to kill someone, to beat him down and not eat them is considered a grave insult to everyone of their line as well as of their clan.

      The subject of bloodlines and breeding is also an important part of their lives, all can trace their lines back to some of the greatest Chakwas who fought against the city builders, against the builders and against the other beings that have some to the world. Given how many can be created this is possible but there is very little in terms of DNA authentication for it. The bloodlines of the host as well is valued as in battle the ones with the least common colors were guessed to be important. The more importance there is the more they are wanted as breeding stock for the Chakwas.

      The term for breeding stock is also a dangerous one as being who have encountered them would way they are animals who only kill and mate but others have found ways to communicate with them. Playing off some of their wants and needs for different things. Some will offer them slaves and people who can be eaten or livestock to appease them. Others will offer them some of the finest enemies they might have or information on camps and settlements trying to stay on the planets. Some will even offer to smuggle them off and feed them to let them loose on another world so they can spawn and colonize if possible.

      Such bribes and tributes are seen as something normal and it can be used to grant safe passage or even to hire them out as mercenaries to raid places that a person wants. They will not work for credits however and view most of it as an insult to be given since they cannot use most credits in the long term. Shop keepers don't let them buy things or going to a marketplace is a dangerous temptation they do now try and force themselves to have. Deals with them usually turn sour though as after everything is done they might just take the one who hired them or sold out their friends/peoples to survive. A sort of just desserts as it were.
  • General behavior:
    • With Each other: They are very combative, usually willing to fight each other and kill one another over trying to make a long standing empire that is more useful. THey have a social structure with the strongest leading who take a trophy from each one they kill but it is a loose society at best. Constant challenges for leadership positions that can come at near anytime. Their only notable times working together is when there is a larger prize or threat. Cities that are protected from their entrance or armies that try to fight them.

      With Outsiders: THey are hostile generally, few will allow those who enter their territory to leave without either infection with eggs to take back or as a meal for themselves. It depends on their mood really but they are not mindless about it, should the outsiders provide a compelling reason they can be bargained with. They can be bribed with other sacrifices to them for safe passage or getting force users whose flesh is valued.

      With the Force: They heavily disdain the force, it is not something that you can earn it is something you are born with. A genetic lottery in their opinion that doesn't make you a better more skilled fighter... however the flesh, the kill of a force user is prized and for those rare ones who are force users and not killed by the others. Are kept away from the small clan like groups. It will either make them some of the strongest most dangerous rogues able to fight entire groups or raving mindless animals. Seeking out training for those who survive can be just as dangerous among the other species of the galaxy.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
There is not much known about the species early history or how they came to be on Mimban. One of the prevailing theories was they were brought there as a slave race and used to dig the tunnels down to the ancient city discovered by the jedi and Enclave. They have worked within the shadows of the planet sealed away in places in massive underground chambers sneaking up towards the surface of the planet and snatching some of the locals now and again.

From the earliest drawings and records after the fall of the builders being who spread throughout the galaxy the Chakwas remained deep in the tunnels attacking and trying to press into the city. One of the few times in recorded history where they worked together with a purpose over fighting among each other. With their ability to tear apart a large population the locals on the surface. THe being in their caves fighting back against some of them by robbing them of their food supply.

Slowly over time and with stragglers, ones who forgot about them or visitors to the planet the Chakwas were able to sneak eggs into the city. To get infected to bypass and slowly eat away at the ones in the mountain before they were allowed into the city. Taking and infecting or eating the people as the world became a ghost town." As they continued to spread across force users came to the world sensing the darkness they they were possibly able to bring to the world.

With the jedi working to push them back they got a real taste for the force users of the galaxy and for galactic travel as some of them were invited to negotiate with the others on the planet in a neutral location. Some of their covert tactics to infect others within the meeting paid off and there were reports of attacks on diplomatic shuttles they were no were near. The jedi learnign of this dispatched to find a way to either get them to change or find a way to stop them if possible.

Since extinction was not a real possibility one of the jedi had a bright idea to try and work with them, to better educate or teach ways that were less hostile and warlike to the galaxy but it was in vain at first. The did not want to listen and over time what was learned was only used for the clans own ends. One of the things they learned was how much more tasty force user flesh was as well as that there were some who could feel the force within the species.

These force users were attacked or killed as best they could do with one or two proving to be the superior fightings compared to many of the others and overtaking clans. A great purge came about leading to the clans uniting to cull as many force users as they could driving them away into more manageable numbers they could keep as food. Some lasted this time and some didn't as they lived down in the darkness of the caverns. In time finding their way up to a changed surface.

A new group had come to the world bringing armor clad soldiers and equipment to mine. Opening the tunnels to them as the Chakwas found getting to attack them a whole different beast. Their metal constructs were dangerous but could not compete against them down in the tunnels. THey had the advantage as long as they were able to force the engagements onto their terms and into their situations. In time though even they left taking some off world to study.

The ones offworld getting to experience the galaxy in a whole new light while some of the others remaining on the planet worked to secure the tunnels so they couldn't be locked away again. Their lives on the world that was rich with population now was a useful and delicious thing. Then plague came later while while they worked to spread across the planet and they worked to infect whoever they could to counteract the ones dying en mass.

After the plague came the darkness and the other creatures, the massive and dangerous firebreathers proved something they could as a hunting party take down so all of them could eat. With the darkness of the galaxy fading out of existence the Chakwas had only a few more things they were needing to do. They were able to carve out a niche as people came to the world to try and capture the vong creatures or to try and find things in the temples. Others coming because they believed their could help the locals.

Attacks on Mimban have seen the species taken offworld largely the more... agreeable sorts who understand and want to try and make a place in the galaxy. They are not just ravenous monsters who attack others. They worked to distance themselves regionally and culturally from their brothers and sisters who remained on Mimban spreading out to several worlds that needed tougher colonies and species to fight against dangers.

Within a handful of years they had largely set up themselves with the lesser known ones appearing more often. Considered more docile but no less dangerous as they could spin webs and silks as opposed to toxins from their stingers.

A zeltron host could give shades os pink-red skin or hair, possibly two livers or rarely pheromone glands but something like the species empathy would be a near 1% chance. Same with races that have mental immunity or protection such a epi, hutts and toydarians. There is a low chance of that trait but the more leathery skin of a hutt could provide some extra protection. Ect ect.
    You're going to need to remove the above bold portion. Inheriting traits like skin color or hair color I can accept but I'm not going to accept that they can inherit racial traits such as immunity or telepathy, etc.

[member="Darth Prazutis"] edited but I also added a note that species traits like empathy, mental immunity, incarii durability can't be inherited. One of the main concerns I had with the strength was getting special species traits like a crokes racial talents with illusion and wanted to keep it limited.
