OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: Create the new and advanced primary fire control computer used by Crossroads Republic Fleet warships and facilities.
  • Canon Link: N/A
  • Permissions: N/A
  • Primary Source: N/A
PRODUCTION INFORMATION
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Comes with a large number (20) of armored computer cores providing a large amount of computing and processing power.
  • Numerous control stations for power management, sensor feeds, firing solutions, and other miscellaneous functions.
  • The computer cores and the control stations are guarded by ray shields to prevent boarders from interfering with weapons functionality.
  • Can be linked together to form a cohesive fire control system which encompasses an entire ship's weapons complement.
  • Has adaptive fire control algorithms and programming to handle missile trajectories, starfighter flight paths, and detected weaknesses of shields on ships it is engaging and is able to be continually updated to reflect intelligence gathered on potential weakspots and subsystem locations for targeting.
  • Can operate with minimal crew input, many commands are done via mechanical, holographic interaction, or vocal inputs, providing flexibility for how potential gunnery personnel can best operate their guns or batteries.
  • Can wirelessly link with fellow CFCC-11's over highly encrypted links to provide full situational awareness of threats that some ships may not be able to see, and provides a ship with damaged or jammed sensors the ability to target something using the sensor feed from fellow Crossroads warships.
STRENGTHS
  • Very adaptive and flexible computing system.
  • Powerful, able to handle the use of several hundred guns and dozens of sensors.
WEAKNESSES
  • Lots of sensitive equipment, electrical failures or physical sabotage can do irreparable damage without access to a shipyard with a replacement for the damaged subsystem.
  • Large, there's lots of components or subsystems that can be sabotaged.
DESCRIPTION
A new high-endurance fire control computer core designed to be capable of the handling of large numbers of main battery guns, secondary guns, and point-defense guns alongside missile launchers, both anti-ship and anti-starfighter and do so with great proficiency. This system can plot out, with great accuracy a warship's weapons complement from a central computing core of large towers linked with one another to form a powerful weapons control suite. These are controlled from a slew of control stations able to be easily controlled via a whole plethora of control surfaces usually manned by a dedicated crew of gunners and gunnery officers who can either adaptively switch up their fire to best protect the ship or they take direct orders from the bridge or the command and control center. They are also designed to fold in with Crossroads doctrine of redundancy which means that the ships that possess these systems have more them than they actually need, technically, but they have a handful of "spares" so that if there is damage that takes out one or more there will always be more of them to handle the weapons of the ship and stay in the fight.
