Voracion Citadel

winter_fortress_by_josearias-d6jlw9j.jpg

Built as the primary stronghold of the Sith presence on the planet, the Voracion Citadel is named after the Sith Lord who led the expedition to the planet. The Voracion Citadel is the seat of power for the current Sith Lord and his advisors, with a great many officers holding residency and offices within the citadel for the ground forces and naval forces under the command of these rogue Sith. The Citadel is surrounded by a massive network of defenses and barracks manned by their army, with thousands of AA guns and ground-to-ground laser turrets scattered among a system of trenches and shield generators. Rumors and gossip among the various Sith and officers hint that a large network of tunnels and secret research labs are hidden under the Citadel, but to what purpose they might be for, is only known by the current Sith Lord in charge.

Sith Academy

2lvh25i.jpg
As any good Sith stronghold world needs, a Sith academy was established near the Voracion Citadel to facilitate the teaching of acolytes and apprentices in the way of the dark side of the Force. It was founded and built upon the first arrival of the Sith as they needed a place to train the acolytes there were part of the expedition. The headmaster of the academy is a member of the Grand Lord's council, but the position is prone to shifting due to the internal power plays at the academy as the staff are encouraged to try and unseat the headmaster if he the headmaster is deemed incompetent, weak, or for any reason why Sith do things.

The academy also has holding cells underneath for slaves that Sith acolytes can practice their abilities on, but there is the rumor that these cells are also attached in some way to the Voracion Citadel and the secret labs underneath. These rumors are taken as confirmed as sometimes slaves will disappear with no knowledge of academy staff or the students there.

Imperial Strip Mines

futuristic_slums_by_pati_velux-d7xx985.jpg

Built to supply the Sith presence on the planet with the valuable crystals and minerals that are hidden under the frozen surface of Castameer, the Imperial Strip Mines employ a great number of enslaved beings that have been kidnapped across the Unknown Regions and Wild Space. The area is not heavily defended, but is surrounded by a fenced in shantytown where the slaves reside and is constantly guarded by elements of the Sith ground forces. Rumors of a leader possibly trying to raise the slaves up have reached the Sith’s ears, and any signs of resistance or rebellion are savagely put down. On the outside of the wall, a sprawling complex of droid automated factories churns out war material and other supplies necessary to fuel the Imperial war machine.

Pollux Air Base

Northern_Conveyor_by_djahal-992x660.jpg

Named after Commander Uloron Pollux, the Pollux Air Base is where the vast majority of the Sith ground based Starfighters (full starfighter craft capable of both atmospheric and space combat like at Starkiller base) are based at, along with the pilots, instructors, and officers that form the backbone of Imperial Starfighter Command. The complex is guarded by a network of entrenched positions and automated AA guns, along with a large shield generator, while the base itself is dug into the side of a mountain.

Hyaat Station

space_station_by_freiheitskampfer-d3ldtom.jpg

Named after Admiral Bevviin Hyaat, Hyaat Station is the command center for the Sith fleet forces in the system, with many fleet officers having quarters aboard. The station has a multitude of defensive turbolasers and ion cannons, along with torpedo launchers and mass driver cannons to stave off any attack by enemy forces that discover the system. Hyaat Station is also responsible for coordinating and sending out various drift charts and warnings to the Sith fleet to allow them safe passage through the nebulas and asteroids in the Castameer system as they go on raiding and slaving missions in the surrounding systems.

Culture:

Life: Normal life is typically dedicated to expanding and supporting the war machine that the Sith overlords of the system have established. Most citizens are members of one of the branches of the armed forces or are Sith themselves, and due to the founding expedition, are incredibly loyal to the Sith and Imperial ideals.

Society: Society on Castameer is split into different social strata. On the bottom, as is typical among Sith factions, are the slaves. The slave population on Castameer and its moons are constantly and consistently beaten down with the Sith goal being the complete eradication of hope that their position will ever improve. Slaves are housed in shanty pre-hab shelters, sometimes whole families sharing just one room, near their place of work and any items of individuality are stripped away. Even clothes are regulated by their masters, with a gray smock and pants being the only things they are allowed to possess. If a slave is suspected of theft or any other crime that might hinder in any way the Sith war machine, Purge squads are sent to deal with not just the slave in question, but any close associates of theirs. Fear and despair are the order of the day among them, but there may be one who is quietly uniting the slaves who still have some spark in their hearts.

The next strata are the ordinary citizens who serve the Sith. The vast majority of these citizens were chosen to come on the initial colonization of Castameer due to their extreme loyalty to the Sith cause, with many of them being members of the army or naval forces under the command of the Sith. The ordinary citizens are allowed to have more individuality, but they must not allow their extracurricular activities take away from the buildup in the system, otherwise they can face severe punishment. The highest level they can hope to reach in society, if they do not have Force Sensitivity, is the officer corps that make up the right and left hands of the various Sith.

The second highest strata is the officer corps that make up the non-Force Sensitive members of upper Imperial society. These officer are loyal to the mission they are given, but are not above backstabbing and forming alliances against each other to raise their own station (in a sort of mirror of the power plays among their masters). Officers are still below many of the Sith in the strata.
The highest strata, as is typical among Sith factions, are the Sith themselves and they act in a similar fashion as one would expect Sith to act. Outright violence against each is discouraged, but that is only because it was covert and the being was caught. Subtle power plays and struggles among the various Sith Lords and Ladies and those beneath them are common place.

Politics: The world is ruled by a Sith Grand Lord, with a council made up of the other Lords and Ladies underneath them. Politics are rather cutthroat, both for the Force Users on the planet and the non-Force Users, and survival of the fittest is typically the order of the day. Those who are able to successfully show they have competence (and can defeat their rivals) will rise to higher positions.

Military: While only confined to one planetary system, the Sith in the Reyne system and on Castameer have built themselves a significant military force. A large ground army and navy are supported by most of the population, with many holding ranks or positions in the various branches of the military. Training is mandated for several hours everyday when someone is on active duty, with several special squads having been established under different Sith Lords and Ladies for other duties.

+ Purge Squads – special units that are deployed to deal with any insurrectionist among the slave population or even rarely against ordinary citizens. Squads are typically led by a Sith Knight personally and are broken down into squads of twenty Purge troops.

+ Capture Squads – special units that are deployed to capture beings in neighboring systems. Squads are typically led by Sith Knights and are broken down into squads of thirty troops. These troops also specialize in subterfuge, and when on mission, will wear disguises and use captured ships to hide their true allegiances to keep the Sith forces relatively unknown.

+ Honor Guards – Those forces that are charged with guarding the inner sanctum of the Voracion Citadel, these units are cybernetically enhanced in the labs deep below the citadel to become a force to be recognized and feared. They are led by one of the Sith Lords and Ladies that make up the Grand Lord’s council, but their numbers are still unknown even among the population of the planet as not many are allowed within the inner sanctum of the Sith.

Technology: On par with galactic standard

History:

On the surface of galactic history, Castameer appears as an uninteresting speck in the records of exploration. Initially discovered by Republic prospectors that had been knocked off course during the Subterra Period around 6700 BBY, the system itself was jotted down as too dangerous to navigate due to the large nebulas and asteroids and the prospectors promptly went about repairing their hyperdrive and jumping out. The planet would remain undisturbed for thousands of years after that as explorations efforts turned to the galactic east in a bid for the Core Worlds to continue their lifestyles, and Castameer and the Reyne system sat in the back of the navigation charts, the known routes eventually becoming unusable from drift and other astrological events.

Castameer, for all intents and purposes, was forgotten by the galaxy at large as the drums of war began to beat between the light side and dark side Force users of the galaxy for next several thousand years. Even the navigation charts the planet and system were listed in eventually were forgotten and erased, the only surviving charts and mentions of the system being held in the Galactic Archives on Coruscant. There they remained… until the One Sith took control of the planet in 838 ABY.

The mysterious Sith Emperor that had united the disparate Sith became focused on the archives, for reasons not understood even by the Sith that had access to his inner sanctum. He would not disclose what he was searching for, with many assuming he was searching for some lost secret the Jedi had buried or something similar that could be used to crush his enemies once and for all. However, the Sith Emperor had instead sought out knowledge on obscure and hardly explored systems to create a fallback position for himself should those who served him betrayed him. The Emperor eventually settled on the Reyne system precisely because of the dangers navigating the system and dispatched one of his most loyal followers, Darth Voracion, to lead a colonization expedition into the Unknown Regions to find the planet.

Officially, this expedition was being sent to hunt down rumors of a disturbance the Emperor sensed that he hinted was tied to the recent activities on Dathomir the year before. This was the story that even was told to the Voices of the One Sith, and the Eye was only given vague suggestions that there was an ulterior motive for the Sith Emperor.

Voracion was able to find the system in early 839 ABY, but not without some difficulty and loss of life among the Sith and forces under his command. Successfully navigating the dangers in the system proved a challenge, but the One Sith expedition was able to reach the ice planet of Castameer and its two moons, which they named Zonmira (Sith for volcano) and Kelsera (Sith for mineral). Quickly establishing a base, Voracion finally revealed the real mission to the Sith under his command. They were to create a powerful stronghold and production site for the One Sith, more specifically the Emperor, in case of any problems developing in the Core Worlds.

The citadel was formally begun in 839 ABY, and was completed in 843 ABY with Voracion and the Sith Lords and Ladies under his command taking up residence within. During the time the citadel was being constructed, the military began to build Pollux Air Base and Hyaat Station while they also began to oversee shipyard construction and slaving missions to build up the work force for the One Sith presence in the system. The Sith Emperor was kept informed of the continued development of the stronghold, with him directing Voracion to construct research labs under the citadel for purposes only known between himself and the now self-styled Grand Lord.

Even the Netherworld event in the following year would not detract from the mission, but it did create a power vacuum as Voracion was one of those dragged into the Netherworld… and never returned. The new Grand Lord was informed of the Emperor’s death at the hands of his own apprentice and other entities within the One Sith, and deciding that the current One Sith were slowly losing sight of their goals, he declared to those in the Castameer system they were no longer aligned with the Sith group in the Core Worlds.

All the while, the experiments continued underneath the citadel, the military and naval resources only growing due to the large amount of raw materials in the asteroid belt and the orbiting moons. Massive shipyards are in orbit now, churning out starships. Large-scale mining operations are grinding both material and slaves at a prodigious rate to fuel the growing ambitions of the Sith Grand Lord and swaths of factories produce more than enough weapons, armor, and droids for what could only be discussed in the shadowy halls of the Sith as the pre-empting for something greater.

Notable PCs: None unless Staff makes them
Intent: Creating this planet to be subbed for the Board Event coming in the future

I don't see anything wrong here. There's a bit of things I'd like expanding on, but with it being a staff planet the little room given here and there is perfectly appropriate. I'm gonna go ahead and stamp this. Waiting for secondary Judge before hitting pending.

Your first image link is dead.

I'd also like for you to add a couple more sentences for the Sith Academy, as it currently has no history or detailed description.

Lastly, could you clarify on what you mean by "ground based starfighters"? Do you mean hovering repulsorlift vehicles, ships meant for atmospheric travel, or actual starfighters capable of interplanetary space travel?
