OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION

GENERAL INFORMATION
• Name: Carmuuth
• Designation: Non-sentient
• Homeworld: Veradune
• Language: Growls, hisses, and screeches
• Average Lifespan: 300 years
• Estimated Population: Planetary
• Description: Eyeless and plated in bony chitin, the Carmuuth’s growling jaws display rows of sharp teeth, used to mangle and tear apart any meal they can find. Their strong claws legs are used for bringing down said prey in conjunction with their jaws, or burrowing them into the sand where they can lie in wait. Strong bodies, they wield a massive tail that appears to be tipped with a large club. However, when threatened or in need of an extra edge against prey, this club can be opened to reveal anywhere from ten to thirty foot long bone darts which can be hurled at their target.
PHYSICAL INFORMATION
• Breathes: Type 1
• Average height of adults: 1.5 meters
• Average length of adults: 4.5 meters
• Skin color: Tans, greys, and browns
• Hair color: N/A
• Distinctions: Carmuuth’s are ravenous creatures which inhabit the deserts of Veradune, usually burring in or through the sand as they search for prey. Incapable of sight, they do this by sensing vibrations in the shifting sand and following it to their prey, or by sound and smell. Hidden under the frills on their necks are several sets of ears which pick up surrounding sounds with great, ease, allowing them to track prey that they might wish to impale with their tail spikes.
Male Carmuuth’s can be told from females by a central ridge which rings from the center of their head, down their tail, though beyond biologically differentiating between genders in ways beyond genitalia, there is no discernable reason for this ridge.
Carmuuths are born from eggs and are raised by their mother, and occasionally by their as well, though family units rarely exceed sizes of five individuals. In such cases, food is plentiful in the area, or large enough that the Carmuuth must rely on help to take down its prey. When Born, Carmuuth’s hold a sand like pattern to their soft chitin shells which darkens or lightness as they age and molt.
Newborn Carmuuths generally hatch at a size of .3 meters, and when fully grown can reach sizes of six meters.
• Races: Carmuuths come in two varieties, mountain and desert. The mountain Carmuuth which appears in varying shades of grey is moderately thinner than its desert cousin, and is capable of running faster and for longer distances through the craggy landscape. However, this does make them somewhat weaker as well, thus making them more cautious about using their darts on prey, instead preferring to save them for threats.
Desert Carmuuths are stronger than their mountain cousins, but somewhat slower with less stamina. This leads them to give up on prey after their initial burst of speed. They are however, ferocious predators, capable of keeping up with most Veran creatures in a straight fight.
Interbreeding between the races is rare but possible as their aggressive nature often leads to a fight ending in the death of one or both parties. The resulting Carmuuths are fertile and inhabit the smaller mountain regions at the edge of the Veran deserts. These Carmuuths are born at a medium size, appearing to be a large Mountain Carmuut or a small Sand Carmuuth, though their chitin may take on mottled mixed colors.
• Strengths:
Tail can club creatures or throw darts at them
• Tough Chitin shell resists physical damage
• Excellent sense of hearing and smell
• Powerful Claws can shred through weaker armors
• Powerful jaws can crush weaker armors
• Stomach acid can dissolve most materials, including bone and moderate amounts of durasteel
• Most sentient humanoid species are not capable of piercing their chitin armor with their own strength and mundane bladed weapons.

[*]Weaknesses: [ 2 minimum ]
• Incapable of sight
• Tail darts can take as much as two months to regrow(will not regrow if Carmuuth is malnourished)
• Sense of smell can be confused with strong scents
• Sense of hearing can be exploited with sonic attacks
• Chitin shell can be blasted through using moderate amounts of medium weaponry(a heavy blaster pistol or light blaster rifle), or a single shot from heavy weaponry(a powerful blaster rifle) Lightsabers will cut through without issue.
• Cold blooded (lack of heat will make them inactive or sluggish)
• Not agile at all(finds turning in a circle very difficult)

CULTURE
• Diet: Carmuuths are purely Carnivorous
• Communication: The Carmuuth usually communicates with primal growls, screeches, and hisses, though it is fond of using its natural weaponry to get the point across, that point usually being that its hungry.
• Technology level: Incapable of technological advancement
• Religion/Beliefs: N/A
• General behavior: Sand Carmuuths often hide within the sand, waiting for prey to pass by before ambushing it. Capable of short range sprinting, their powerful legs carry them to their prey where they can bite, or claw the unfortunate creature to death. Should the prey put up a fight, or attempt to run, the -Carmuuth may open its club like tail to reveal the spikes held within, which are then hurled at its prey to pierce its body and kill it. From there, the Carmuuth will devour its prey, using its powerful jaws to tear apart the body and swallow large chunks, trusting its stomach to digest even the creature’s bones.
Mountain Carmuuths, thinner than their desert are made for climbing and hiding within the crevices of craggy mountain faces from where they often jump down on their prey, crushing them before sinking in their fangs and claws. Should the prey notice the attack, or run away, the mountain carmuuth will often run after it, using its bone darts only if they prey is too fast, or if it is under attack
It should be noted that Carmuuths use their darts somewhat sparingly as they may take as much as two months to regrow all of them, even if the Carmuuth is well nourished. The spikes are thrown at a minimum of three at a time, held in by muscles within the tail. Though, total relaxation of the muscles does allow the Carmuuth to hurl all the biological missiles at once. This is usually done by young Carmuuth’s, or Carmuuths faced with an overwhelming threat.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
At odds with the desert dwelling Zorrens on Veradune, the Carmuuth make up one of the main dangers in the vast sand dunes. While some Zorrens have managed to tame the ravenous beast by means of the force, there have been no recorded instances of taming through mundane means. The Carmuuth is generally considered too dangerous for any arena event, and as such, Zorrens within the mountains and deserts will often use banishment as a means of execution by stranding the guilty into Carmuuth infested areas. Due to the vastness of the Veran Desert, and the complexity of the mountain passes, the arrival Bandit Coalition and subsequent conquest of Veradune did little to change the life of the Carmuuth’s, adding a slight uptick of Zorren meat in their diet as the sentient species fled to the wilds for safety. After Vulpesen took over Veradune, the Carmuuth’s daily routine once again, remained unchanged.

Over all this is a nice, well thought out submission!

As a minor thing, I need you to link to a page where that image appears, rather than to the image itself- I see that artist is on Art Station so that'll make it easy.

I'd like you to add another substantial weakness that could affect PvP with these- I do not think this is an op submission, but if you take a look at the strengths vs. the weaknesses, you have a number of strengths that are *always* good and useful and a bunch of weaknesses that are not only very situational, but are also, honestly, fairly 'normal' (sense of smell and sense of hearing ones in particular are pretty baseline rather than hard weaknesses). And the blindness one is largely countered by their other senses and receptors, making it a pretty soft weakness. So let's get one more in there to balance this out a bit more. Since they are strong and have good armor, maybe they are slow, or the thick armor makes them un-agile- or something else you can think of that works with how you picture this species.
