Candle in the Dark [GA vs OS Invasion of Lujo Objectives: 1, 2, 4]

2CMRUA2.png

There was a whisper in the night

It spoke of death

The barely audible sounds were followed by each guard in turn slumping to the ground. One stumbled back against the duracrete wall heavily, his helmet cracking as it hit stone. Inch by inch he slipped to the ground. In the half-light of night the trail he left on the wall behind seemed as dark as obsidian. The silence that followed was as disturbing as the whispers that had come before. There was only the constant dirge of the rain hammering down. The floodlight that illuminated the front of the underground base picked out bright white streaks as the rain poured down.

The light started to pick out shapes in the gloom. They advanced through the bleak night. Suddenly there was a familiar snap-hiss. The golden bar of light illuminated the Jedi Master and the soldiers around him. His robes, heavy with water, hung low and dragged through the mud in his wake. His features were set in a look of grim determination.

265950-Star_Wars-lightsaber-Jedi-artwork-concept_art-rain-736x459.jpg

One by one a whole row of lightsabers snapped into life. A long line of Jedi suddenly emerged from the darkness. The Galactic Alliance was the pinnacle of the mixed force model. Jedi and soldiers lived together, trained together, fought together. But if the whisper of the silenced sniper rifles had spoken of death the new sound was one thing: hope.

The Alliance was hope. The light in the dark.

They charged forth at the opening in the mountain. With a groan a duracrete slab several metres thick started to descend as the inhabitants tried to seal the doors. Grand Marshall Omai Rhen came to a halt before them. The wind whipped the cowl back from his head, revealing his stark grey mane of hair. The battle-hardened Jedi Master was as pivotal to the Alliance as the Dark Lord was to the Sith. There was a serene look on his face as both hands came up together. Yet the stress showed in the tremble of his hands. The inexorable fall of the bunker doors came to a hold with a screech of tortured metal.

“Go!” his voice boomed through the night. “Tonight the tide turns!”

The crowd of Jedi, soldiers and mercenaries parted around him like the sea around an immovable rock. They rushed through and vanished from the night into the underground facility.

Final Objectives for the Invasion

One: Bunker Busters

Aims: Based on advantage either side has in story, open sandbox
Open/Private: Open
Category: PvP
Leaders: Faction Admins
Description: Once upon a time a command centre, formed of a network of interconnected bunkers at the base of a mountain range, was constructed on Lujo. Recently the Sith have been using this as a secure centre to carry out research into Sithspawn. The GA attack swiftly, aiming to end this vile practise. NPCs are background noise as both sides join battle in a series of interconnecting chambers. Warning: from time to time some dangerous sithspawn may be released - these will be a threat to both sides.

A, B, D, E
Traditional military bunker. Wide open spaces with lots of height afford room for acrobatic manoeuvre. Containers in several rooms hold dangerous chemicals and sithspawn being used in experiments

H, I, K, L, N
Sith prisons. Down here the Sith carry out their most depraved experiments. Narrow winding corridors connect chamber that house anything from sentient prisoners for experimentation to the vilest sithspawn. Ceilings are low and there is limited room for manoeuvre.

Two: Fleet Battle
Aims: Secure orbit above Lujo
Open/Private: Open
Leader: [member="Ayden Cater"] (GA) / [member="Taloff Arsov"] (OS)
Category: Fleet / Starfighters
Description: Battles wage on the surface, but an eye must always be kept to the sky. Reinforcements cannot arrive through hellish laser fire, nor can transports speed away with VIPs there is a blockade in orbit. Secure a path for your forces to bring in reinforcements, or should the worst happen make your escape.

Each side will ultimately wind up with 15km fleet totals. The GA will arrive with more forces up front, 10km, to the One Sith's 5km. Reinforcements will come in at a later point and reverse this trend; GA brings in 5km to the 10km the OS brings in. Any folks who wanna do starfighter jockeying can be said to either be arriving in-system with the fleet (GA) or can be a part of the forces present at the start of the fight (OS)

Three: Worship (has its own thread)
Aims: Attack/defend/raid the Sith temple
Open/Private: Open
Leaders: [member="Mara D'Lessio Merrill"] [member="Sage Bane"]
Category: PvP/NPC
Description: The One Sith built a temple there as a sign of friendship with the Fringe. Then they tortured a Fringe founder. The other one isn't amused. The Lujo Sith Temple is a symbolic and strategic target. I don't imagine it will involve anything larger than PVP and fairly small groups of NPCs as both sides fight through the temple.

Details
About the Lujo Temple

In terms of security and defense, the Lujo Temple has standard deflector shields, two turrets in the front and two in the rear, some spider droids peppered about and Sith apprentices and soldiers as security guards. The vaults themselves are guarded by Tuk'ata, who roam the underground tunnels, searching for rogue lightsiders.

Lujo Temple Rooms

PP3pmsE.jpg

War Room: The War Room is the communications and strategy center for executive Sith Commanders of Lujo. The chamber features holo projectors and various communications arrays that are manned by Sith military.

CLteLqW.jpg

Laboratory: The Lujo Temple Laboratory is a place where the dark arts of Sith alchemy flourish. The laboratory contains a cabinet full of elixirs, poisons, and crystals, as well as a alembics, volumetric flasks, a purification chamber, daggers for bleeding rituals, a philosopher’s stone, and various other scientific apparati.

0R55Wau.jpg

Library: The temple library is a vast chamber of knowledge, where Sith of all levels come to study Sith history and culture and meditate on the words of the ancients. The Lujo Temple Library also contains repositories and access points for maps, artwork, and other various storage media.

b8hDcHK.jpg

Vaults: The temple vaults are subterranean rooms that contain valuable dark sided artifacts and tomes on Sith history and culture. Also housed deep underneath the temple are dungeons containing cells, restraints, and instruments of torture. Lastly, there are catacombs which contain the mummified remains of honored Sith Knights and Lords of Lujo, untouched by time and tomb raiders. Because of the presence of dark sided relics, light siders may feel a perceptible malaise as they enter the vaults.

Training Grounds: In the temple’s central courtyard are practice grounds for lightsaber and Force training. A rack of practice sabers sits next to a row of inactive unarmed practice droids.

Four: Only after disaster, can we be resurrected
Aims: Beating each other mercilessly. This is a modified objective for a pvp match between Darth Vornskr and The Revenant, objectives provided to prevent claim of PVP objective simply from who won or lost.
Open/Private: Private
Leaders: [member="Darth Vornskr"] [member="Gabriel Sionoma"]
Category: PVP
Description: After killing Darth Vornskr, at Dromund Kaas, The Revenant was tasked with studying the relics of the fallen Sith Lord. After some time, the lightsaber hilt provided a storied future of resurrection, which coincided with the knowledge The Revenant already had of Kaine Zambrano and his ability to resurrect.
Suggested Objectives:
Objectives 1: Prevent Kaine from being resurrected. If he is resurrected, one point to team darkside.
Objectives 2: Win in a bought of PVP, judgment will end upon potential pre-determined outcome between Gabe and Kaine (tbd and provided to the FA during judgment, Kaine and I will be able to judge this objective if the FA's are fine with that)
Tiebreaker: If Darkside wins objective one, lightside wins objective two, than the tie breaker is based on the FA's determining which post was the most brutal.

Five: The Galactic Alliance rushes into the One Sith's jaws.
Aims: To write a fair, and balanced, battle between OS PC characters, and a GA NPC commander.
Open/Private: Private
Category: NPC Troop battle
Leaders: [member="Isamu Baelor"]
Description: In an attempt to wrest control of the planets surface, the GA have launched an assault on the main OS military base on Lujo. In recent times, the One Sith had begun lashing out at the Galactic Alliance. There were some who feared such strikes, worried that perhaps this was a growing sign that the One Sith could not be stopped, that perhaps the Galactic Alliance was not ready to stand against the growing darkness. But today, those fears would be silenced. A force had been assembled, and now it was the Alliance's turn to go on the offensive. For weeks, the battle had been planned and forces were marshaled. It was the first full-scale military invasion that the Galactic Alliance had launched.

The first ships that were to be apart of the task force were already in the system. A pair of corvettes had been sitting at the edge of the system passively collecting sensor data and comm traffic. This had been passed off to the Alliance and facilitated the attack. Lujo was chosen for a number of reasons. Its remote location at the fringe of One Sith space meant that it was relatively lightly defended and mostly unimportant to them. But more than that, it was a battle meant to be a symbol. For too long, the One Sith had dominated the galaxy. The Republic had been beaten repeatedly in fights with the One Sith, and many in the galaxy had begun to despair. Could anyone stand up to the One Sith's awesome might? That was a question that was to be answered today by the brave men and women of the Galactic Alliance.

At the same time that the surprise attack on the ground was being launched, orbital sensors for the One Sith would begin going off frantically. Dozens of hyperspace reversions would be detected, none expected or announced. The first form to emerge from hyperspace was a large warship that had one served the Protectorate. Now, with a hull repainted and a new crew, the Indomitable-class Star Defender fully served the interests of the Galactic Alliance. All manner of support craft were launched from its great hangers and sent down to the surface to support the ground forces tehre. Almost as soon as it had finished reverting to realspace, a pair of long cylindrical ships emerged. No weapons could be found on their hulls, for theirs was not a purpose of offense but one of defense. A brilliant light emerged from their bows and twin beams shot forward before beginning to arc backwards. These massive shields would shelter the arriving Alliance fleet from any reprisals from the surprised Sith defenders.

Frigates and corvettes emerged and formed up around the Star Defender, though it was so large that many had to make maneuvers to move around it and get into formation proper. Squadrons were launched and hangers secured. Dropships would carry down soldiers and Jedi to the surface where they would surely engage in a desperate struggle for control of the planet. The battle for Lujo had begun in earnest, and it was time to see if the Darkness would continue to prevail in the galaxy or if the Light had gathered its strength to begin driving out the Darkness. And from his seat, Ayden looked at the planet below and wondered just how the battle would go.

"They're Late." Kentarch whispered to himself. The Sith Lord observed the storm rage as the rain pounded against the viewport. "What took so long." It wasn't a question.
"My Lord." An intelligence agent quickly confronted the Sith, standing at attention. "The sensors are going active sir, we are seeing a lot of activity." His voice was hesitant, Kentarch could sense the man's fear. He did not fear the enemy however, he feared the wrath of the Sith.

After a long pause Darth Kentarch turned and faced the man. "Sound the alarm." He stated. The Galactic Alliance had finally arrived. After months of small skirmishes and petty engagements, they had shown up on the One Sith Doorstep. Turning back to look out into the storm, he could see the lightsabers of the Jedi come to life. "Have you come to take the seat of the galaxy back from us?" he asked rhetorically as they charged the base of the mountain. "So many lies. So many deaths. But we can feel it now can't we?" His voice was ominous. It took all his training as Sith not laugh and smile. "The Core Worlds shall burn."

Walking down one of the corridors of the research center, Kentarch waited for his fellow Sith Assassins. He had already taken the time to send a report to incoming Sith on the situation as it developed. The Galactic Alliance forces would attempt to capture the Sithspawn research center as means of ending the One Sith occupation of the planet. Kentarch had also taken the time to contact [member="Lord Mythos"]. They had unfinished business tonight with a particular group of Jedi. Through the force, he sensed their approach. For now however the Sith Lord would have to be content with waiting. Watching as the men and women rushed around to their combat positions, he took hold of his Sith Lightsaber.

And so it has come to pass that finally the Galactic Alliance had grown the nerve of fighting the One Sith like an actual military. Mythos was not as surprised at the statement as he was when [member="Darth Kentarch"] had communicated with him from the bowels of the Sith Prisons in the affected planet of Lujo. By the time Mythos arrived at the location the situation had grown out of control and he was forced to fight his way down through crossfire of Galactic Alliance soldiers who stormed the prisons fearlessly. One after another hallways parted for the Sith Lord and by the time he arrived in the bottom floor to reach Kentarch his boots dragged a pint of blood through the floor. He had been a sith assassin during his acolytehood and still aided them when called upon, but after his conquest of Atrisia and the increase of his power stealth was tossed aside like a used rag in exchange for raw, unbridled power.

He descended down the durasteel stairway almost in bliss of the background chaos that sorrounded him and arrived just in time to catch the last statement the Sith Lord had made concerning the core worlds. Inside the hollow of his stomach Mythos fought back the urge to plant his axe behind his face and drop him in the floor... yet he did not act upon those urges.

"If anything like that crawls it's way out of your mouth again Kentarch I will kill you myself and drag your corpse through the core worlds along with the bodies of the men who will die today... " Mythos' voice boomed in the tight corridor as he stared right into the image of the former pale assassin wearing his battle armor that consisted of mere alusteel plates and a black and red leather cloak with the insignia of the One Sith emblazoned in it's back. "What is the status of the situation? and why are you not out there fighting alongside your brothers?" With those final words the axe of adas clanged down hard in the metal floor echoing through the room and the judging eyes of the King of Atrisia bore down on the Sith Lord before him... unflinching, expecting.

Could the awesome might of the One Sith be defeated? Not today. Lord Mythos had arrived along with the Jar'Kai who rushed to the defense of the Sith planet of Lujo in every fortified position... Their captain had died recently, in Chazwa. One would think that made their ranks drop in morale yet all it did was ignite in them the thirst for vengeance and death. Mythos could feel the rumble of evil... something was being twisted down here and it reminded him of Panatha. After breathing the air a few times in this room he spat in the floor in disgust... torture.. the air was drenched with prolonged unnecessary suffering and the Force indicated the presence of Sith Spawn. Out of all the things in warfare nothing angered Mythos more than dishonor and torture, anger boiled in his veins even further now that he gazed upon the truth of what this prison truly represented.

Dark divination had long heralded this day.

Whispers from the void proclaimed that this soil would bear witness to another clash against the darkness and the light, and so the scions of the hungering shadow were quick to descend upon the idyllic world of Lujo to conduct their foul heresies. The cairn was hewn from the mountainside, hundreds of tons of rock torn from its face as the muscles of innumerable slaves strained while the whips of their reptilian drivers cracked through the air like thunder. "Faster!" the slavers bellowed, and the slaves pushed themselves to the brink of death and beyond to spare themselves the brutality of the rod. Those that worked too slow or faltered from exhaustion were either motivated to work harder, or died beneath the heavy hands of the Graug. There was no respite, and there was no mercy for the Master's will was above all things. The lives of these pitiful cretins were nothing, and all were expendable.

The inside of the mountain was effectively gutted and in its place a cathedral was erected. A cathedral of darkness constructed for one malign purpose, designed with a wicked architecture not unlike those jutting from the barren wastes of Korriban and Ziost. In lieu of pews obscene statues were carved from obtuse stone outcroppings with many of them depicting varying degrees of violence, but there were many more that depicted debased sexuality. At the very end of the chamber a large altar was carved from what remained of the original mountain interior, and was decorated with occult trinkets alongside ancient Sith runes that had been carved directly into the stone surface. Braziers were lit all across the cavern while the sickly sweet aroma of burning incense choked the air, and it was there that the acolytes of the Vornskr'ei waited patiently for the day of reckoning.

Luckily for them they did not have to wait long.

Already a tremor through the Force reverberated through those sensitive to its blessed touch, their eyes glossing over as a devilish hymn bubbled past their cracked lips. Slaves were slowly forced to assemble upon either side of a shallow trench where a sealed coffin was gently placed within. At the altar's side stood a massive Graug draped in the ceremonial vestments of a cleric, and in his right hand he held a spiked crozius while in his left he held a book bound by Human skin. He placed the grimoire upon the altar's face, and turned through many pages before settling on a scripture halfway through. From the moment his tusked mouth opened to utter the contents of the book were the slaves taken before the ditch, their throats then quickly slit and the crimson contents of their body drained onto the coffin.

And from within something began to seethe.

He slowly stood from his seat in the worn out ship and belated on his ligbtsabers. He could feel them, Jedi, they were gathering. His bright green eyes slowly closed as he worked to sense where and how he could capitalize on the situation. With a small sideways grin he opened his eyes and began walking toward his boarding ramp, his bare feet quietly padding across the durasteel plates. The ramp lowered and he padded out into the warm air before moving toward the one sith position. There would be blood and profit in this, he just needed to find out where he could spill it and make it respectively.

Rain sluiced down around the assembled soldiers and Jedi, lightning crackling through the air as the forces of the Galactic Alliance assembled and moved on the Sith Bunker. In their midst stood a man who was not a Jedi, but not quite a soldier anymore either. He carried the gear of a soldier, outfitted as if he were a one man walking arsenal, and he wore the armor of Jedi, imbued with Jal Shey imbuements to aid him in combat, and colored a brilliant white. He was a beacon for the light side, proof that while not everyone needed to be a Jedi, the Darkside was not the only other option. The Sith was not the option that those disillusioned with the Jedi truly wanted, but it was where they often got caught. Those who did not become successful lords of deceit and vice often were used in the ploys and games of those same lords.

The beacon of the light side, wearing the pure white Procursatores Armor, strode forth into the bunker. His hands cradled his MF-9 Maser Scattergun as he stepped into the bunker, automatically clearing the corner to the right as the soldier behind him cleared the corner to the left, and the third went toward the far corner. The room was large, but the immediate area was clear. Harmon took a knee, scanning further into the room on the right hand side. More soldiers and Jedi filtered into the room, moving with a discipline that spoke of the Galactic Alliance's serious take on combined tactics. Teams of five moved further in, widening the cordon within the room strategically. The Sith were probably aware that they'd been breached, but so far it was quiet. Harmon didn't trust that quiet.

Equipment: 1 x woebringer heavy blaster pistol, His Lightsaber, Tonka Amulet, The ring of Hrafnar, Infantry Armor MK II (Modified with a robe around it and the mask of his previous armor.)

This invasion couldn't have come at a more inopportune time, after the little skirmish over Chazwa his personal armor had been shattered with only the mask remaining intact. Having to spend time in a kolto tank also didn't improve his mood none either. This was learned the hard way by the galactic alliance soldiers that crossed his path when he arrived and made his way into the prisons, leaving charred bodies and ash in his wake. "So You've finally grown a pair hm?" He said musingly to a panicking galactic alliance soldier who seemed to have wet himself as he impotently aimed his blaster pistol at the unarmed Sith Knight, that wasn't true though any sith with or without a weapon in their hands was never unarmed.
The soldier was a boy only just out of his teens and sitting in a corner as the sith knight held his hand tightly around the face of his superior who began to scream as his brain was set aflame inside his own skull. The boy wept as he heard the scream turn into a sickening gurgle and then seeing his superior go limp and silent as the sith dropped the superior and looked towards him, aiming his pistol at the sith before dropping it to the ground as it suddenly heated up to almost glow from the heat.
"Is this all you've had stored up against us? Children and COWARDS!" The sith said as he began a slow approach to the boy, emphasizing cowards in a loud boom of his disrupted and deep voice. The boy couldn't let out a sound as he stared at the sith approach him, horror filling his mind as panic rendered him paralyzed. The sith simply stopped as a puddle of urine began to form under the boy and then chuckled a little, then he snapped his fingers and the boy suddenly was staring at the wall behind him before his body fell forwards.

This wasn't satisfying at all to Erebos... well maybe a little he had learned to feed off of the fear of others and that boy's fear had been almost intoxicating. But alas he wanted a challenge someone that would actually be a match for him, these galactic alliance soldiers were simply put target practice. Then he felt it, a strike team of jedi had entered the facility but they were at the entrance and Erebos was at the literal other end of the facility. "Oh this is just perfect Finally someone to put up a fight!" He said half shouting in joy as he turned towards the nearest ladder, only to be met with a squad of Gr soldiers lined up like a firing squad.
All aimed at him and with a simple word from their captain they all began to let out a barrage of blaster fire into the corridor were he was. Once the firing had stopped however all they would see was a black cored cross guarded lightsaber and his hand raised up. "Out of the way... insects." He said before the hallway were the soldiers were erupted in fire and red force lighting. After that barrage of power had subsided Erebos simply walked forwards passed the charred bodies of the GR soldiers. "Waste of time..." He spat out under his breath.

The beast within the cage slammed into it's chamber, letting loose a howl of rage and hunger at it's imprisonment. It was dark within, and hard to see from the outside, though it seemed obvious from the quick glances of piercing light that whatever was held within was quite large, and quite powerful. The Arue'tii observed for a few more moments before retiring from the room and into the greater corridor. Casting a glance down the hallway revealed individuals moving about and preparing for the acts of warfare and ruin that would soon pervade the entirety of the structure. There was a true pity within the blue skinned being at the idea of all the hard work done in this place gone to dust, blown away by the wind in it's partnership with the rain, each one complimenting the other in their ancient task of erosion.

The door was slammed behind Abelain, further restricting the creature within with yet another barrier; insurance that it would not escape easily to wreck havoc upon the soldiers as they fought their invaders. Perhaps it would be wiser to simply release the monstrosities however, to allow them to feast and ravage the enemy, and then; once they were lazy with filled stomach and bloodied claws, to herd them back into their restricting shelters. With a sigh, the explorer cast his eyes towards the ceiling, observing the various metal pipes and the way they rattled ever so slightly at the fighting above.

No doubt, he would be joining that combat shortly. No doubt, he would solidify his loyalty to the Sith in what would become a gore filled skirmish for a world that seemed to hold little significance in the grand schemes of galactic governments. That too was a pity, that there would be death for the sake of death, with little in the way of accomplishment beyond the ceremonial triumphant calls of whomever was proclaimed victor. The war dragging around, threatening to envelop all life around it and to create a great many corpses was; in essence, meaningless. The Arue'tii shut his eyes to the world, allowing the iron scent of freshly spilled blood to reach him through the floor of the subterranean fortress.

His hands clasped upon the Sith vibroblade at his side, and the lightsaber that he had taken when he had released an Iridonian into the One Escalation. They were becoming familiar instruments, and they would once more be put to labor. Marching slowly towards the Southern stairwells, red cape draping the ground behind him, the Arue'tii allowed a final thought to enter his mind before he became focused on the coming activities: That bodies would fall as the rain above.

A pair of dark figures watched the slaves tirelessly work. Both wore full helmets that obscured their faces and armor that covered their bodies from head to toe.

Make sure to depart before the Alliance swarms the place,” commanded Soeht, the male half of the pair.

As you wish, master,” replied Sonolka, a female humanoid standing next to Soeht.

Without further work, Sonolka departed to leave the cavern and Lujo entirely.

The throats of slaves were slit before Soeht’s eyes. The Sith did not participate in the ritual.

Extravagant,” quietly muttered Soeht.

Then, the Sith turned toward the exit of the cavern for a moment. He lightly touched one of the lightsabers clipped to his hip.

At least I won’t have to wait long to meet an old friend,” said Soeht to himself.

He stood, arms crossed behind him. He'd been hearing reports for weeks that the GA would attempt to take Lujo, but he didn't believe it. He only started to believe it when he had to stand side by side with his master to break into the bunker. He shook his head lightly, watching Lord Mythos and Lord Kentarch with interest. He wasn't sure why he was interested so much in them, he thought it was the whole idea that they were Sith Lords, both men with high ranks in the One Sith Order. He shook his head, his cloak shaking lightly as he did. He wasn't in the mood to listen to them, not while one of the One Sith planets was under attack.

He stepped from the room, feeling out with the force. It was quiet on the level he was currently standing, but something didn't feel as nice above. He crouched low, slowly walking up the stairs. The presence was above him, a Jedi by the feeling. He shook his head, peering out of the stairs. There was someone in there, someone stood next to one of the containers. He wasn't sure what was in said containers, but slowly the man named Colt reached out with the force. He felt metal resist him as he tried to pull the supports from under the container.

It buckled. The container fell, Colt using the force to make sure it didn't fall right on his target. He wanted the Jedi to suffer a slow death, not a quick one. The container would fall behind the Jedi, chemicals leaking out. What chemicals, no one knew. All he knew was that they would probably hurt if they come into contact with the skin. He crouched down low once more, head ducking back down. He would be hidden by the stairs for the most part, though anyone with a decent force connection would feel him.

She stood in the shadows of the mountain, the wind whipping rain to her face but nothing, no distraction would take her eyes from the duracrete slab that would provide the opening into the bowels of the military bunker of the One Sith. Coci is here standing alongside her husband to face the gaping mouth of war once more, and it is hungry. The Galactic Alliance soldiers pushed forward, entering the bunker and immediately the 'song of battle' began it's chorus, yelling, fire, flashing blasters and death screams.

As much preparation that can be done for war had been completed, but nothing prepares the heart and soul for the sight before them. Coci summon the blood and set the heart to purpose, to fight as Jedi against the sickening blight of the Sith, the darkside is one thing but placed in the hands of these wretches who debase the Force with their existence, could be tolerated no longer. She recalls those in the Silver Sanctum that had been marred by these beings, tortured, and twisted in same cases for the mere pleasure, others they had lost to death. But the cost that the galaxy is held ransom to, the citizens that suffer from day to day under their yoke, it is time to remove the 'debt'. No more suffering ..

Standing straight, Coci pinned her shoulders back as she reached for the hand of her husband for comfort, and to his mind. Now and beyond this life ...

She turned to look into his face, her eyes fixed on his and all at once she kissed him. Who knew what the Will of the Force was this day and so she took one last opportunity to show her love for him. "Are you ready? .. you look ready", she even managed a smile recalling his words of jest to her the last time they dueled.

As part of their newfound alliance, the Grandmaster and the Master of the Order both volunteered to render aid during the Galactic Alliance's push on Sith-controlled Lujo. The Silver Sanctum Coalition was not heavily involved in this operation, but Thurion knew how important this opening move against the One Sith truly was and therefore asked to join the battle. Coci wouldn't be swayed from coming along, of course, which was both a great source of comfort as well as worry for the Grandmaster. But he trusted in the Force that they would both see this through to the end. When she turned and kissed him, Thurion returned it with every ounce of his love for her. They'd faced death upon countless battlefields - this one was no different.

"That's my line," he told her with smile before placing a kiss upon her wedding ring. "Let's go." Joining the Alliance forces assaulting the Sith stronghold, Thurion and Coci moved through the chaos caused by both sides. While making their way through one of the corridors a side-passage suddenly opened revealing a bunch of Sith troopers, but Thurion swiftly shoved them back where they came from using the Force, knocking them out as they struck against the far wall. "Like cockroaches, they are," he told Coci at his side with a hint of humour. A squad of Alliance soldiers quickly moved in to secure the knocked-out pile of bodies while the two Coalition Jedi continued fighting their way through tight corridors and open areas alike.

Showtime.

Clad in Alliance Trooper Armor, Andanian looked around at the interior of the dropship he sat in and looked at the other troopers, all seeming to be perfectly calm. Of course, they had helmets on, too. He looked down at his scattergun in his lap, making sure there were enough shells loaded and it would serve him well in the coming battle. Along with that was his revolver on his hip, which always proved his most reliable weapon.

Today was Andanian's lucky day. He was trusted enough now by the Alliance to be allowed to volunteer as a soldier for the Battle of Lujo. He would be moving into the bunkers with the rest of the soldiers to clear out some Imperials and destroy some sithspawn. He tapped his helmet to check and make sure a knock upside the head wouldn't make his HUD dissapear.

"Almost there, gentlemen" said a voice through the radio. Like Andanian, the men in this squad were all volunteers. Also like him, they didn't have too much training. They were mostly rebels with a passion to see the Empire burn. Sadly, Andanian was the most trained of them. "Dropping out in thirty"

Andanian held his scattergun close and glanced around nervously. I'll die before they take me back... Before he had time to worry more, the soldier next to him pat his shoulder, "Hey, Imp" Imp had become Andanian's nickname around the Alliance. The turncoat. The Imperial. He didn't mind it. It distinguished him from the rest. "Do us proud"

Andanian smiled and nodded beneath his helmet.

"Showtime! Everyone out!"

Andanian shot up and followed his squad out into a wave of Imperial blaster fire. The battle erupted before him, and his career began.

Harm felt the touch of another force user stretching out their senses and feel his presence. He wasn't hiding, but the darkness within this touch told him it was probably one of the Sith. That was what Harm was here for, so he passed the word along.

"I've got contact, Sith presence is positive in the bunker." He said over the operational secure channel.

"Someone's moving in the shadows towards your position Solas." One of the forward scouts into the bunker sub-vocalised into the secure channel.

Harmon took a few steps back, then shoulder rolled forward and away from the wall as the canister next to him began to fall. He used the force to aid his roll, coming up several feet away from the chemical spill. Harm stood up smoothly from the roll and moved towards the shadows in front of him, knowing that behind him were several squads of Republic soldiers and Jedi. He reached out with the force and easily felt the person not trying to hide their presence near the stairs in the room labeled G on their schematics. The sith must have ran back there after pulling the canister down. That told Harm two things, the sith was alone, and the sith was afraid of direct confrontation. Harm was not alone, and he nearly reveled in direct confrontation. The jal shay embuements in his armor kept up its calming aura, helping him think clearer when he might otherwise have leapt to battle.

"One squad on me, keep to shadows and keep eyes sharp." He ordered. Instantly, five Alliance soldiers formed up at the door to the room labeled E on their schematics. Keeping his senses extended, he led the squad into E. This room was another of the hangar type rooms, Harm was able to have his soldiers go wide, approaching the door to G on the far side. They took cover behind some crates that were labeled as vehicle spare parts, the durasteel crates likely full of more durasteel, would offer excellent protection from return fire. One of the five took up position facing away, to make sure no one snuck up on them from behind.

Harm, on the other hand, walked up to the door to G, sidling up to the edge on the near side.

"Stagger flash bangs on three." He spoke over the squads own channel, still sub-vocalising. "Three." He said, then turned his head slightly away as first one flash bang arced into the air, followed in close succesion by a second, then third, and a fourth. They arced into the room on different trajectories, to both allow for the best dispersal of flash and bang, and to thwart an attempt to throw them all back.

Once the flash bangs go off, Harm will step around the door. The first person he sees will get shot at by his Maser scattergun, as Harm knows that there aren't any Republic soldiers in G at the moment.

Dax checked his readouts on the T-70; all working and primed and set. Nothing beeping, nothing sparking – no problem for this pilot. Both hands fixed on the yolk, the swirling blue vortex of hyperspace guided the fleet following on from [member="Ayden Cater"] in the mighty Star Defender that would act as the spearhead of the Galactic Alliance forces en-route to Lujo.

The strike at the One Sith would be tough, and there would be losses, but right now the feeling of nothing but being an unstoppable beam of light shining right into the eyes of those in darkness was empowering them all. It would be a decisive battle; the battle for Lujo, and one Dax wanted to win.

”All fighters, follow tight on our Defender until the Sith show their hand and make a defensive start. Let’s act as one and they won’t know what hit them.”

A smile crept over Dax’s face as he readied the drop out of hyperspace with the fleet following, and within seconds the stars streaked to their usual static blanket across space and Lujo was before them, and who knew what else.

The Jedi warriors leading armies had their job, the soldiers on the ground had theirs and the pilots had their objectives; it was going to be an almighty laser and firework show up above the planet, that much Dax knew for sure.

The Arue'tii came to a hold, allowing his red cape to flourish around him for a brief moment as he observed the new chamber. Imperial soldiers swarmed about the chamber like insects, each one performing their duties in preparation for the coming assault. They were setting up defensively as best they could, though with the hallways as tight as they were it was difficult for them to find equipment to serve as barricades. Abelain pushed past these individuals, several of the soldiers pressing against the walls of the corridor to allow for his movements. For a brief moment he wondered whether these troopers believed him to be one of the many Sithspawn that resided the facility, perhaps that sort of fear mongering could be used to an advantage against the assailants above.

The stairway above seemed to be blocked by a durasteel door of some sort, currently guarded by another trooper who anxiously awaited the arrival of battle. The loud bang of flashbangs outside of the door made the frightened trooper jump, and for a moment it seemed as though he would open fire on the door itself. The Arue'tii took a breath of the air, scenting the blood of the intruders above them, taking notice of exactly how many there were, and where they seemed to be. It seemed likely that there was a Jedi not far from where this squadron was, most likely leading the forces from the back. If any of the propaganda spewed by the Sith was to be taken as truth, it would indicate that the Jedi were cowards, and upon this pillar the explorer based his reasoning.

With a hint of pressure upon the lightsaber, it ignited with it's standard snap-hiss casting the area around them with gentle crimson light. The left hand also pressed upon a trigger, creating a gentle humming noise as the Sith vibroblade began to sing it's war song. The Arue'tii allowed it's chitin to curl into a strange smile that spread across it's face, protecting the true mouth and it's weaker points from outer attack, and unintentionally playing to the point of fear mongering by giving the being a monstrous visage. It seemed likely that the Alliance soldiers above would push down the staircase, in which case they would be met with the Arue'tii and the plethora of soldiers strewn about the hallways, but in the off chance that they didn't attack, then he would wait for an opportune moment and then pounce upon his distracted prey.

Simple plans were always the best.

Braxus Zambrano
Location: The Festering Cairn
Motive: The Return of a God

Deep in the cathedral of darkness a dark form lurked in the shadows watching the Graug prophet work, it was a man cloaked in all black, the black power of the darkside swirling within him. The figure wore a black cloak overtop a set of all black armor. The figure possessed no heartbeat, no bodyheat, he was a ghost on the outskirts but his dark gaze was cast over the entire room. "Today a god returns to this world and he shall suffer no delay.." The man said as he stepped forward.

Quite suddenly the shadows themselves around Braxus shifted forward with loud booming steps that echoed throughout the room. Ten figures emerged around the man known as Braxus Zambrano, the Herald of Darth Vornskr and his masters Chosen. These were the gargantuan Imperial Sentinels , the mute protectors of the Herald. They wore heavy battle armor under long, reddish-purple cloaks emblazoned with intricate gold patterns at the chest, back, and shoulders. Their heads were wrapped in heavy linen and covered by a large helmet resembling a golden Aquila with spread wings, and only their crimson eyes were visible behind the narrow slits punched through the armored face-plate. In their large hands they gripped massive vibro-axes decorated with bleached skulls and blasphemous trinkets depicting ancient Sith symbols.

Braxus barked an order to the Sentinels that surrounded and towered overtop of him in Epicant, and off they went. The Sentinels took place near the very end of the chamber and formed an impenetrable wall of meat and plate, their massive girths completely blocking access to where the ritual was happening with only one order: Kill all who dare try to pass without Braxus's permission. "Kiha ri mitina âti sis kûrja diâ ri kitas zûtadijsizi.... diâ sis jin' aukotis iw kraujas, urs, diâ konsamursi arika rizina ra ri jina'tis." Braxus uttered in the ancient language of High Sith as its very utterance gave his voice a hypnotic lull and the shadows coalescing in the room only grew darker. The Herald of Darth Vornskr grabbed the hilt of a dark blade at his side and drew it, the pang of steel ringing out as the runed blade was exposed to the world. The malign power of the dark side only grew stronger, and the Acolytes around the room began chanting as he approached the slaves carrying Derriphan, the Harbinger of Souls, the blade of Darth Vornskr and a sacred relic of the Vornskr'ei. Derriphan was personally entrusted to Braxus by the god himself for this ritual.

Braxus thrusted the blade through the chests of each slave on his side, and each time the blood drained into the pit, and a spectral soul was seen entering the blade, the eternal prison for thousands if not millions of those that Darth Vornskr has killed over his lifetime. The blade pulsed with power after every kill, the very steel vibrating as the last slave was run through and his soul sucked from his lifeless corpse, the pit filling with the blood of the fallen. "Kiha sis aukotis snichi ri jin' nia, diâ satkari ki ri tutsatsa adata an sajana ir zo kitok amzius iw jina'tis wos ri kûrja." Braxus chanted once more in High Sith.

Blaster fire erupted all around Andanian. Highlighted silhouettes of his fellow squadmates flashed across the HUD of his helmet, and unidentified humanoids on the other side of the Alliance front clad in white were painted with red outlines. Hostiles. Andanian stuck with his pal from the dropship, a volunteer like himself he didn't actually know who was labelled "Fish" on his HUD, and Fish would do the same with him.

"Imp!" Fish called through the radio, motioning for him to follow after they stepped off of the dropship, "With me! Let's take the right flank!"

"Negative, Fish, hold the middle with us. We have enough squads on the right. answered the squad leader, the only man in the squad with more formal training than Andanian.

This was Andanian's first military battle, against the very soldiers he dreamed of joining as a child. He was nervous. He didn't chat much. He jumped down behind a barricade next to Fish and dug in, taking potshots over the top with his scattergun. He counted how many times he fired his weapon as to know how much ammunition was left before he'd have to reload. His weapon wasn't syncronized to his HUD.

Galactic Alliance rebels, just like the old Rebel Alliance, battled it out with white-clad imperial Stormtroopers, just like the old days of the Galactic Civil War. It was funny how people said history repeated itself. Andanian was never a history nut, but even he knew how true that statement was.

"Frag out!" Fish yelled, making Andanian and a few other squadmates duck back down under cover as the baseball-sized grenade soared over the middle of the firefight and beside Imperial cover. A few Storms couldnt get out of the way in time, and one of their barricades was even destroyed by the fragmentation.

"Good throw, Fish! Advance on the weak point with Imp, use your scatterguns! Jericko, Lunatic, and Hellboy go with! We'll give you suppressive fire! Kill 'em all!"

Andanian's heart sank. A charge? Oh boy, this could either be a grand act of heroism that got them into the bunker, or a tragic slaughter. Fish slapped Andanian's shoulder, "LET'S DO IT! FOR THE ALLIANCE!"

Andanian and Fish hurdled over their cover, blasting a Stormtrooper who was caught peeking over his barricad with their scatterguns. Behind the two of them, the kther three troopers designated 'Jericko, Lunatic, and Hellboy' charged with them across the middle. They made a break for the entrance through the broken barrier Fish created. Andanian didn't look back, only forward as red blaster bolts skimmed past his squadmates and him. He followed Fish, who made it through the door and into the bunker.

His armor felt hot around his left knee. It must have been grazed, but he kept sprinting. He heard yelling and more shotgun blasts behind him, but he kept running. "Man down! Hellboy is down! Repeat, HELLBOY IS DOWN!"

"He's dead, get going, Jericko!"

"NO, SIR! NO ONE GETS LEFT BEHIND!"

"NEGATIVE, JERICKO, LEAVE HELLBOY! HE'S-"

From where Andanian was now, waiting away from the door of the bunker on the stairs going down toward engineering with Fish and Lunatic, it sounded beautiful. Unfortunately, Jericko screamed with rage as he tried plowing through the wave of Stormtroopers to save their friend who was shot down on his way to the door. There was a brief pause, and Fish sounded like he was starting to panic.

"...Jericko is down. Fish, Imp, and Lunatic. Sound in. Tell me you're inside" said squad leader, who still had blaster fire in the background of his radio, but sounded calm.

"All here, Lead." said Fish.

"Roger, Lead, Lunatic reporting."

Andanian had to clear his throat, feeling a bit choked up after losing Jericko and Hellboy so suddenly. It made sense to him now how that pretty girl from Tatooine, Kaile, had been so reluctant to shed the blood of those bounty hunters. The stench of death was starting to irritate his nostrils. "Imp is kicking, Lead..."

"There are Bucketheads following you into the bunker. I count six. Get moving down to engineering and see how much damage you can do. I expect you three alive, got it? Do as I say. Don't be like Jericko."

Ouch. That hurt. This was the flaw of fighting with barely-trained volunteers. They didn't always obey order. "Roger. Let's go" Andanian answered over the comm, motioning for Fish and Lunatic to stay close to him as he took point descending down toward the engineering section.

The weight of blood, that grievous burden. That stain, forever captivating, as it sticks to the metal. Fingers clasped, stretching in and out, he recalled the memories for what they were. Hoping for a mind and prophecy to bear false witness, that where lightning once turned, and demon found the taste of ash far too appealing. That plummeting into the deep, he might stay where the Hound put him. But as he entered atmosphere, the melodic clap of wind against the Star Viper, his stomach turned over to bury such hope, forever. He took to those visions like an old friend, the sort that kicks you when you're down, seeing columns erected, tapestries burning, and the howls and posturing of the weak. A book held in hand, parchment as old as time itself, skin of the old and frail wrinkling beneath the softest touch.

Oceans opened up across the view, transparent metal giving light to an otherwise beautiful scene. But just as a bright light might cast a long shadow in the low sun, a feeling of dread sunk into him. Deep and festering, he tensed as he saw the mountain in the distance. Cutting hard, just as he had on Dromund Kaas, he set the vehicle to autopilot in lock with the range finder. Standing up, he stepped to the back of the ship, cracking open the creaky locker. He had already donned his armor, in anticipation of what he would meet in this place, but his weapons were for the choosing. Strumming his fingers across the hilts, dangling against hook, he wondered why he had brought the thing. Taken from bone and dust, it should have rested for all eternity on Sullust, in the pits of a volcano. But if he were going to face this aberration, oddly expected, he would do so with the man as capable as he ever was. It was only in this falling, to truly be torn asunder, that Kaine would know this defeat for what it was. Inevitable.

The ship stopped, hovering just above a stone tongue sticking out from the rock face. Carved, manipulated, molested, everything that spoke of the deep running taint of the darkside. It came in waves, radiation shot from a barrel, and Gabriel grit his teeth in response. Pressing the two hilts across the small of his back, he tied the cloak over his armor before opening the hatch. Activating the locator beacon for the vessel, he stepped out from the ramp and descended upon the mountain. Dirt, grime, it lifted upwards in a plume, responsive gesture to his first assault. Sight filled with dark stone, cut for the vertical face on both sides, he viewed the dimmest glow of fire sconces. Slaves, slave drivers, they whipped and griped out one another, giving no recognition to the man.

He began his step inward, descending into what he could only assume was hell. For the beast that was summoned in the heart of Dromund Kaas, he wondered what might be conjured now. In this harshest of encroachments.
