Suggestion Campaign instead of Invasion tag for Super hexes

I was looking at the recent How Liberty Dies | GE Invasion of GA held Coruscant put up by the Galactic Empire and a thought came to mind.

Since Coruscant is within a Superhex, it might be a good idea to expand the USING PREFIXES definition of a Campaign to replace the tag of an Invasion for a Superhex.

A superhex holds significantly greater importance for a Major Faction compared to a single hex, as it encompasses a vast area.

Therefore, it makes sense to utilize the Campaign tag, enabling a Major Faction to launch a thread with three distinct objectives across three separate planets, effectively creating a 'Campaign' for the entire hex.

It would still be judged like a normal invasion, the only change would be the tag to signify its importance regarding a substantial territorial loss.

I feel that would require a new ruleset. Invasions are tagged as they are because of the rules associated with them.

The rules on a superhex are also clear as seen here:

3. Superhexes follow the same rules as normal hexes on the SWRP Galaxy Map.

6. If any part of the Superhex is gained or lost, all of the Superhex is gained or lost, it may not be separated or splintered.

Since its Coruscant being invaded, the invasion is for Coruscant. The superhex just makes the invasion have higher stakes. And honestly, what stops faction teams from deciding they want spill into other planets within a superhex as part of the story?

Just my 2 cents

Certainly something to consider in my suggestion. We already have an adequate ruleset to cover the invasion of a superhex.

Just my own thoughts on providing extra meaning to the Campaign prefix as no one really uses it.

That was what I was wondering. I don't think we need more rules to add meaning to a tag. If we’re gonna do that, skirmishes and duels are examples of tags that don’t have an official ruleset either. Sometimes something is just a label for a thread and that’s the only purpose it needs to have.

I think it's a neat idea. I've always thought it be interesting to create an actual function to the tag.

I'm curious if the idea of creating an actual Campaign built around these super hexes could be discussed. Like a best of three style invasion series, where the results of each one has a rolling effect into the second. Support it with an OOC cool down period of 1-2 weeks between each battle, simulating a more drawn out warfare that gives both sides ample opportunity to fight for the pretty hexes.

this is literally what I pitched in my last suggestion
