CONTENT INFORMATION

The Calians are a people who defy traditional forms of classification. Despite their physical and physiological differences from other humanoid groups in the galaxy, they were long presumed to be just another ethnicity of baseline Humans. However, recent research conducted by anthropologist and xenobiologist Hieronymus Hoole indicates the answer may be more complex. In this scholarly essay, Hoole lays out a new theory: that while ancient Humans may have been their ancestors, modern Calians have evolved so far beyond humanity that it would be incorrect to call them such anymore.

  • Calians are almost universally stronger than Humans, with a predilection towards bravery and passion
  • Ryastraad is a physiological as well as mental and emotional state. Includes changes to the endocrine system in the form of a massive burst of adrenaline, which in a normal Human would have potentially life-threatening effects, but for Calians is tolerable
  • Force Sensitive Calians are notably more prone to ryastraad and their passionate nature is further enhanced by the Force
  • Calians who interbreed with baseline Humans and other species tend to produce children who do not have Calian characteristics - however, the Calian DNA remains present to be carried on to future generations, with potential to manifest strongly in a grandchild or great-grandchild (?)
