A masked Desmond walked the length of the grand stairs that led to the Coruscanti Capitol bank. In his hand, he carried a large duffel bag and on his shoulder rested a simple scatter gun. At his side walked his faithful bodyguards and a new friend. The few people out in the waning hours of the night scarcely seemed to notice the team as they made their way to the entrance. A man who approached too closely managed to get a good look at the weapon the Chiss carried and stumbled backwards in terror. Desmond barely gave him a passing glance.
He reached the top of the steps and kicked open the door. The guard at the entrance scarcely had time to react as a shell burst through his abdomen and nearly ripped him in half. He landed spread eagle on the floor with a wet slap. The few people that were in the bank screamed in terror as Desmond pointed the gun at the crowd.
“Over here, now!” He pointed with his gun to the center of the floor and the tellers removed themselves from their post and huddled with the few customers that now lay on the ground. It was a nice-looking bank. Grand pillars climbed to the ceiling and desk lined the back. Red carpet covered the floor, but Des cared for none of it.
He was after something far more specific. Deep in the bowels of the bank, beneath the first story rested a large vault. It was guarded by a more advance team of specialist whom had probably already sounded the alarm. Time was of the essence now. He was not worried about the hired help, but more of the enemies surely to come.
Desmond let his duffel bag fall to the floor with a Thud, then leaned down to unzip it. He removed a series of cuffs and threw them to the ground near the hostages. He pointed his scattergun at one of the prisoners “Put those on the rest,”
When the man finished, Desmond cuffed him too. He walked back to his duffel bag and retrieved a series of explosive vest. He put them over the prisoners and smiled. He retrieved a detonator from his belt and pressed the button. The vest lit up as they became armed.
“This. This is a dead man’s switch. Should I die, all of you will die too and each of my counterparts have one as well,”
