What was it about lightsabers which seemed to attrach blaster fire like moths to a flame? Never mind that majority to the blaster bolts gt deflected harmlessly away but there was always someone willing to gamble they would get lucky.

Daxton’s three lit sabers drew the most fire from the attackers, the ground surrounding his position was charred from deflected shots. He did not have the time to send the bolts back due to sheer volume coming at him.dd

Unfortunately someone got that lucky shot which he took to the shoulder, followed by a couple more which drove him to his knees, raising the spirits of the attackersdddd as they began to cheer and mock the Dark Lord. However, their brief celebration was cut short, when Daxton slowly stood up. The holes in his cloak showed the flesh was healimg before their very eyes until finally the wounds were completely sealed.

Reaching out with his Force Tentacles, he wrapped them around the eight closest enemies immobilising them, arms pinned to their sides, as he lifted them bodily into the air, and slammimg them into the ground with enough Force to break skulls and snap spines. Discarding the broken bodies he summoned his blades to his hands and charged at the attackers who remained.

"Yes Srina, I'll do my very best not to get shot."

There was a complete lack of the arched tone one might express in Er'in's voice, instead it was matter of fact, slightly heated, but otherwise quite personable under the circumstances. After all, getting shot would be be unpleasant. And Darth Malus had made it quite clear who was in charge.

The mining droids didn't exactly hold their own - but wildly aimed heavy mining lasers are nothing to sneer at when you're a humanoid in armour and the focused blasts forced the attackers out of the obvious approach zone and the cover of a low rise, forcing them to chose between coming head on into the forces of the defenders, or pulling out and coming in from a completely different angle.

"Okay, you've got them contained for now. Assuming they don't have any backup."

Assailants in the air, and more on the ground, it appeared the Confederacy had just stirred up the hornet's nest with their arrival. While she had no personal qualms with the attackers, she would do what she could to assist the CIS.

"Alright BB, intensify forward deflectors, we're joining the party." A hard tug on the yoke sent her X-wing snapping back toward the action.

While she shared no datalink with the Confederacy vessels on the scene, they were easy to pick out from the hostile by their IFF signatures (and the CIS forces would be able to recognize her X-wing in the same manner). Said hostiles would be hostiles would be highlighted in red, while CIS forces were doused in blue. Then there was yellow for neutral craft keeping away from battle.

She trained her sights on one of the hostile vessels closest, a large corvette. Still operating under the cloak of signal distortion, the ace had the element of surprise as she lined up for an attatck at a high angle in relation to the corvette, on a path for its rear.

Golden lances of light erupted from her solar ionization cannon, rapid micro adjustments made to her trajectory between shots as she aimed for different sections of the vessel. The first few shots struck right past the shields though the main engines, while the last beam collided with its shield generator.

Large blue plumes of explosions belched out of its rear as its engines were ruined, and its shields died as the emitter was reduced to molten slag. On her first pass, she had just left one of the hostile corvettes practically helpless as she had disabled its engines and shields. Though it could still fight, as evidenced by the wave of pings she began to receive.

Missile lock.

“See that you do…”, Srina responded to Er’in in-between firing near silent rounds from the Vora. There was surprisingly little kick to the powerful weapon, but it packed one hell of a punch, with interchangeable rounds to maximize effectiveness. Before joining the Confederacy the Echani had never been one to use guns, blasters, or slugthrowers outside of a plain disruptor. Even then, the usage had been extremely limited, considering her teachers found them to be clumsy and uncivilized. In recent months Srina had only known them to level the playing field. “Darth Metus won’t be pleased with me if something happens to you.”

The pale-skinned woman didn’t know what disappointment looked like from her Master and she had no desire to find out.

She became aware of the Sith Lord, Daxton Bane, fighting to her left, and sucked in a swift breath of air when some of the clumsy blaster fire actually hit him in the shoulder. He dropped to his knees, and she prepared to make her way toward him using her personal energy shield, but it soon proved wholly unnecessary. His wounds disappeared and his attackers were dealt with via creative bludgeoning. “Lord Bane…Are you all right?”, she questioned, knowing that it may go unanswered. Srina figured that he was fine due to the way that he readied himself but given the circumstances didn’t want to assume.

The mining droids that Er’in had commandeered to fight on her behalf seemed to have made a lot of the Noghri mercenaries panic. Those not picked off from afar by Katria were easily dealt with by the Red Guard, Daxton, or herself. The battle on the ground was over, mostly, before it had even begun. Srina came out from behind the container and began to reload her Verpine weapon. Just in case.

“It looks like it’s over. I don’t sense anything else incoming. Does anyone else have anything to report?”, she spoke into her comm, broadcasting to the ground team, so as not to distract their friends in low orbit. She had just begun to see some of the largest explosions and knew that what appeared to be ‘falling stars’ was actually broken hunks of metal and fuselage from smaller ships that had gone down.

“Er’in please call the droids back to their original protocol. The threat here is over. I’ll get a report from either the Admiral, the Commander, or Mistress Nooran soon.”

From there Srina began to use the Force to feel her way through the dig-site for any anomalies. She wanted to ensure that each and every mercenary had been dealt with and not simply grazed. There was a time and place for compassion and mercy. This wasn’t it.

Time passed and the droids continued to mine, filling container after container of precious stygium, with what appeared to be minimal effort. It was slower than simply frakking the entirety of the island, a little more costly, but it was safer for everyone involved. All in all it seemed that they’d collected more than they’d initially estimated. That was good.

As soon as the space around the planet was emptied of enemies they would be ready to load up and depart. While they waited for the all clear the droids loaded up the stygium and they packed up. Returning to the spaceport was also easy enough.

“Commander Terrick, Admiral Miles, Mistress Nooran—Let us know when it’s safe to depart.”, she called through the comm link once she was once again settled in on the Ferocity.

Up close she could see how fast Daxton recovered from his injury, as she saw for herself the way his flesh seemed to knit itself closed. Not only did it look painful but it would probably itch like devil later on. “I am alright my lady. It is butz a mere scratch. Best move back to the safety of the platform. I will make sure they willl rue the day they planned this little raid.”

Daxton held his blades in a defemsive stance, just in case, there were more raiders nearby. Perhaps he should have taken a prisoner alive, well in hindsight that would have been the smart thing to do, Unfortunately for his victims, his reaction had been impulsive, fueled by the power of the Dark side.

Srina was relieved to hear that Daxton was uninjured. She really, truly should have expected as much from someone as powerful in the Force as he, but old habits, like worrying for her brothers and sisters in arms died hard. Silvered eyes watched carefully as he neared her, able to witness muscle and sinew repairing, feeling a vague sense of awe as his skin stitched itself back together unaided. That was definitely a trick that the Padawan was curious to learn. Many times she'd been waylaid after taking some sort of injury that required more than bacta patch. As skilled as she was in melee combat the white-haired woman was far from infallible. "Good. I'm glad to hear it."

He suggested that she move back to the makeshift mining platform and she nodded her head. The threat of immediate danger to their resource mission was over. Things moved smoothly after that. The fair-haired woman directed the end of the operation and they were soon on their way back to the space-port in one large caravan. The ships were loaded, packed to the brim, and Commander Terrick's cargo freighters were more than appreciated. Once those in orbit gave the all clear the Ferocity came alive and led the team back into the sky. From there, they broke free of the planets orbit, and each ship disappeared back into hyperspace. The stygium would be taken to Golbah City where it would be refined and divided amongst those that had come to claim it with her.

"We are headed to Golbah City on Geonosis.", she called into her comm, making sure, that everyone knew where she was taking their share of the treasure. "All stygium can be divided there. The Vicelord will be notified of your assistance and you will be rewarded for your efforts. Thank you all."

The Ferocity would be one of the last to leave, making sure that all the cargo ships made it through, before disappearing from real space, as if it had never been there at all.

OOC: Thanks guys! You made this thread WAY more fun than I expected it to be. You're the best!! Metus has been sent a list of all participants. Expect presents. <3
