Roon was a mess, at least the site of the former headquarters for the Knights Obsidian. In an effort to reduce the potential threat, Gerwald had been hard at work to move the headquarters of the Knights Obsidian. He hoped to take them to Stewjon where he could rebuild the order, but decisions had yet to be made. Until such a decision was final, Gerwald found himself traveling between Naboo and Roon.
Today his visit had one sole purpose. He would personally assess the Knights which were now under his command. The new Lord Commander had made the decision to be more personable. Many of the others before him seemed to keep a distance, they did not seem to know those whose deaths they ordered. Gerwald wanted to change that. He would know the talents and skills of each member under his charge.
One such was the brother of someone Gerwald held close to his heart. Var Talon, the name was clear as day on the roster. His relation to the Exarch which saved his life would not spare him any measure Gerwald would use to test the Echani. The Lupine was determined to be even harder on him perhaps because he knew what the Talon name brought with it. Talon was likely capable already, but how capable was he? Would he serve as a leader among his fellow Knights, or would he simply be another soldier?
Gerwald sat on the steps of the ruins which had once been a thriving center of learning for the Knights Obsidian. That had all changed in an instant when the Eye was activated. Every place the Knights Obsidian called home had been destroyed at once. Yet, Gerwald found there was no better place to assess this particular Knight. He wanted to watch. Gerwald wanted to study. Most of all, he wanted to evoke emotion.
Would he?
