SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Variety of Ammunition: Breshig War Forge Consolidated produces a variety of ammunition for the weapon:
    • AP: Armor-piercing rounds with a depleted baradium core designed to act as a penetrator upon impact with armor.
    • API: Depleted baradium armor-piercing tip with an incendiary plasma component.
    • AP-C: Depleted baradium armor-piercing tip with a CryoBan charge.
    • API-D: Depleted baradium armor-piercing tip with a delayed detonation incendiary plasma component.
    • APFSDS: Depleted baradium sabot, designed to penetrate heavy armor.
    • High Explosive Incendiary Armor Piercing: Using a deuterium based explosive to trigger a blaster gas incendiary charge before driving a depleted baradium penetrator into the target.
    • HE: Baradium detonator rounds designed to explode on contact with a hard surface.
    • Ion: Extremely powerful ion detonator round, designed to severely damage shields and other systems.
    • Ion Encumbrance: Functions precisely like an oversized ion encumbrance tag.
    • Trihex-AP: Depleted baradium armor piercing tipped round with a trihexalon charge.
  • Cooling Systems: In order to prevent the large amounts of heat generated by the weapon from melting it, the RRC-01 has an integrated cooling system that will shut the weapon down in the event of it overheating in order to perform a coolant flush and to allow the weapon to cool down. Each weapon has enough coolant to perform five coolant flushes, but can be connected to a larger coolant reservoir.
  • Diagnostics and Analytics Suite: The weapon's in-built diagnostics and analysis suite keeps the crew apprised of everything from ammunition count to accelerator coil integrity and effectiveness.
STRENGTHS
  • Accurate: Provided it is paired with the right sensor and fire control systems, a capable operator could make great use of the RRC-01's inherent accuracy in all fire modes out to its furthest range increment.
  • High Damage Potential: The RRC-01 has an very high damage potential against a wide variety of targets made from a wide variety of both conventional and exotic materials.
  • Armor-piercing: Even rounds not designed to penetrate armor have some armor-piercing capacity on conventional armors due to the energy sheathe of the energy propelled rounds super-heating the point-of-impact.
  • Fast Projectile Velocity: Rounds fired by the RRC-01 reach an extremely high velocity, making avoiding them a difficult prospect, especially for targets with a notably low maneuverability and speed.
  • Resilient: The weapon itself is partially exposed, and as a result the company made efforts to protect it against all manner of damage that it might be exposed to on the battlefield.
  • Versatile: The RRC-01 is an extremely versatile weapons system, able to take on a variety of differently defended targets with a wide variety of projectiles that it can fire.
WEAKNESSES
  • Ammunition: Once ammunition has been depleted it will naturally be unable to fire, even if there are still generous quantities of plasma propellant.
  • Sensor Suite: In order to make use of the RRC-01's inherent range and accuracy, the mounting platform must have a powerful, high resolution, long ranged sensor suite.
  • Cooling System Malfunction: Should the cooling system malfunction or become damaged, the weapon will shut down to prevent a critical operating failure.
  • Rotary Mechanism Malfunction: The weapon will be unable to continue its operation cycle if the rotary barrel mechanism malfunctions or becomes damaged.
  • Feed Damage: Every round on the weapon side of the ammunition feed damage can be loaded into the weapon and fired but additional rounds will not be able to be loaded. If the plasma propellant feed is damaged then only the plasma in the weapon's reservoir and chamber can be used to fire rounds.
  • EMP/Ion Damage: The RRC-01 is well protected against EMP/Ion damage but resistant doesn't mean impervious. Due to the sensitive components necessitating such a high degree of protection in the first place, any EMP/Ion damage that gets through will likely cause the weapon to cease functioning or to seriously malfunction.
DESCRIPTION
Utilizing the same rotary barrel principle that a number of company mass-driver designs use, the RRC-01 can manage a staggering rate of fire while minimizing barrel erosion. Above all, the RRC-01 was designed to be a more simple alternative to the company's railgun-based mass-driver line of weapons of a similar size, weight and role. That translates to a strong emphasis being placed on versatility. In the case of the RRC-01, this manifests in two particular features.
The first is the three fire modes the weapon has; standard, long-range and rapid fire. Long-range mode trades sheer rate of fire for notable increased range which is achieved by using more plasma propellant. However, due to the lower rate of fire, the rate of consumption of propellant is not increased, resulting in equivalent ammunition consumption to the standard fire mode. The rapid-fire mode trades rate of fire for range by doing the opposite of the long-range setting. less propellant per shot is filled, allowing for a faster cyclic fire rate.
An extremely wide variety of rounds is available for use in the weapon for a staggering array of use cases. This gives the weapon the ability to no only adjust its range and fire-rate to adapt to changing circumstances on the battlefield, but also choose the precise round that is best suited for said battlefield circumstances.
The emphasis on versatility does not translate to a reduction on other qualities. The RRC-01 is very accurate when paired with a good sensor suite and its fast projectile speed makes for easy targeting and a lower chance for the target to evade. The weapon is very good at dealing with armor as well since even rounds not made to penetrate armor will super-heat the point of impact on most conventional armors thanks to its energy sheathe.
To boot, the weapon is built to resist all manner of damage. Resist does not translate to impervious, and the sensitive electronic components used in the weapon will be fried instantly if any EMP/Ion damage manage get through.
Of course there are a few inescapable issues with the design. For one, if the cooling system were to become damaged or malfunction the weapon would shut down to prevent catastrophic damage to both it and the mounting platform. If the rotary barrel mechanism were to become damaged or malfunction, the weapon would simply be unable to continue its operation cycle, thereby it would be rendered unable to fire. Of course being dependent on ammunition, were to either run out or if the feed for either rounds or its plasma propellant become damaged that would cause significant complications.
Nonetheless, the realities of operating such a weapon are well worth the sheer firepower that the RRC-01 can bring to bear on a target.

As usual, very cool sub! I found one problem. You forgot to fill in these two fields. Please do so, then I will accept the sub.
