OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: To create a missile intercepting missile for Breshig War Forge Consolidated, it's subsidiary, Strill Securities and select others to make use of.
  • Canon Link: N/A.
  • Permissions: N/A.
  • Primary Source: Tra'beviiin-class Brilliant Missile.
PRODUCTION INFORMATION
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
  • Classification: Brilliant Interceptor Missile.
  • Size: Large.
  • Weight: Heavy.
  • Explosive Type: Baradium Charge.
  • Delivery Method: Self-Propelled.
  • Effective Range: Long Range.
  • Area Of Effect: Personal.
  • Stopping Power: Extreme.
SPECIAL FEATURES
STRENGTHS
  • Excellent Tracking: The missile's extremely intelligent droid brain compares sensor data from the launch platform that it downloads prior to launch (part of the target acquisition process) to data from its heat detector and energy scanner at long ranges, as it closes in, it extrapolates the target's specific drive and EM signature, at which point it becomes extremely resistant to countermeasures and jamming. The missile will then follow the target till it reaches optimal detonation range or runs out of fuel.
  • Impact Optional: If the missile determines that it cannot reach optimum detonation range before it runs out of fuel, it will instead attempt to reach maximum effective detonation range.
  • Fast and Nimble: The E'yarhakya like the Tra'beviin that it is based on is an extremely fast and nimble missile, easily able to keep up with most modern missile systems.
  • Low Profile: With a reflec laced fiberplast outer layer, an engine that burns TibannaX, vectrals and etheric rudders instead of traditional attitude thrusters, the Tra'beviin has a very small sensor profile, making it difficult to detect. That said, its sensors are active which would definitely give it away, preventing it from being a true 'stealth' missile.
  • Home-on-jam: As a nasty trick, the Tra'beviin possess a home-on-jam protocol, which in the event that it does indeed lose its original target, it will home in on the strongest source of jamming instead.
WEAKNESSES
  • Jamming: Jamming in the earlier stage of target acquisition at long ranges can indeed overload the droid brain and cause it to lose its previously acquired target.
  • EMP/Ion: While resistant to EMP/Ion damage, any damage that does actually get through will fry the missile's circuitry like a protato in a deep-fat fryer.
  • Countermeasures: Any particularly potent long range countermeasure technology or countermeasures that attack the missile directly are likely to either destroy the missile or cause it to lose its previously acquired target.
  • Volatile: If it takes damage inside the launch tube the missile is likely not only detonate spectacularly, but likely set off other ordnance as well.
  • Sensor Range: The missile's range is very much affected by the range and resolution of the sensor suite of the launch platform, if the launch platform's sensor suite is short ranged then the missile cannot acquire a target that it otherwise might be able to engage.
  • Morality/Legality: Given that the droid brain used on this missile is considered by many to be semi-sentient, there are some parts of the galaxy that might frown on the use of this missile, and parts that may do more than frown.
DESCRIPTION
"The hunter has become the hunted."
- Strill Securities CEO describing the purpose behind the E'yarhakya.

Where the Tra'beviin was designed to engage enemy sub-capital class vessels, the E'yarhakya was designed for a very different purpose entirely. Point-defense measures have only gotten more and more advanced as the years have gone by, but as have missiles. The E'yarhakya is merely another step in the constant tug of war between missiles and point-defense technology. The E'yarhakya is a vessel's first defensive measure against enemy missiles, engaging them long before traditionally shorter point-defense weapons can, and assuming all goes according to plan, neutralizing the majority of hostile missiles before they even enter point-defense range.
The decision to use the Tra'beviin was two-fold. One, to save costs. The second was however due to the fact that the Tra'beviin was already an extremely advanced, fast and deadly missile with excellent tracking abilities and a small sensor profile to boot. The E'yarhakya works in the exact same way. The launch platform's sensors lock onto a missile or a salvo of missiles that are on an intercept vector, and then transfers the data to the missile.
When fired, the missile's extremely intelligent droid brain compares sensor data from the launch platform that it downloads prior to launch (part of the target acquisition process) to data from its heat detector and energy scanner at long ranges. As it closes in, it extrapolates the target's specific drive and EM signature, at which point it becomes extremely resistant to countermeasures and jamming. The missile will then follow the target till it reaches optimal detonation range or runs out of fuel.
Like the missile it was based on, the E'yarhakya also features a home-on-jam feature. Given that the missile is still vulnerable to heavy jamming, the aforementioned feature prevents the missile from veering off course or detonating without any effect to a hostile target, or worse, damaging a friendly target. Additionally, because of its volatile warhead, should the missile take fire in the tube that is sufficient to detonate it, it will surely cause significant damage and potentially even sympathetically detonate other stored ordnance. The missile is also limited in terms of its target acquisition by its mounting platform's sensor range. Finally, like the Tra'beviin, there are concerns about the droid brain's sentience, and its use is outlawed in certain parts of the galaxy.

One massive problem.

  • Affiliation: (Individual Character Name (an individual PC/NPC who is permitted to use this item), Company Name(s) (Companies authorised to use this submission), Faction Name(s) (Factions authorised to use this submission), Closed-Market (Any character can use this if they have explicit permission through, for example, a marketplace purchase), Open-Market (May be used by any character without permission from the Manufacturer), other potential options include a submitted NPC unit, or another general organisation/group.)
  • Model: (Example: E-11 Blaster Rifle. For submissions where a model wouldn't be appropriate, such as a custom walking stick, put 'N/A' for 'Not Applicable'.)
  • Modularity: (Can components of this submission be swapped out for other components? Is it especially easy to modify? For most submissions, put 'No'.)
  • Material: (What is it made out of? Certain materials are more resistant, or vulnerable to certain weapons. Example: 'Durasteel, blaster components.' If this submission uses materials not found on wookieepedia, please link. You may also be asked to link materials that are obscure or difficult to find, e.g. exist as a byline in wikia entry. )
These need to be filled in, please do so.

Let me know when you do this.
