Said foot-tapper put a face to a stun-ring, and not her own. There came an ungodly sort of ruckus as three, non-greenhorn guards grappled with a very pissed off Matta. The woman was strong, opportunistic, and did not seem to have much of a straight or narrow moral compass. Several other convicts found themselves tangled into the mayhem, primarily being used as body shields for the stun batons.

But this was all happening in the dark and, for the vast majority of the crew and passengers, the dark didn't work out too well for them. Matta, on the other hand, thrived in it.

By the time she disentangled herself from the heap of bloodied bodies, some of whom guards and some fellow convicts, she had plenty of bruises and scrapes to speak of and a stun baton of her own. [member="Ophois"] was promptly stepped on and passed by as the woman moved to catch up with the massive man that had parted the sea. He was distracted now, but someone else, presumably not a guard judging by his figure, had managed to open the security door that fed out into the fore of the ship.

Feth. Yes.

Matta moved forward with purpose, pausing just within the doorway to turn shined eyes sideways and up at the man before pressing forward.

Time to find the bridge.

Her first instinct upon seeing [member="Matta Rushya"] emerge from the brawl was to close in and exact her petty vengeance. The foot tapper might have fought like a demon but her attention was on the open door. A stun baton to the back of the head followed by her heel would bring a swift end to anyone's day.

It wasn't just her attention in the door however. There was a building unified purpose. Perhaps it was a touch from the Force. That guiding energy that had once flown through her more freely.

Taking her revenge would mean acting against the rising tide. Putting herself in its path. That didn't seem like a good idea. She was a vindictive creature, but also a patient one. She padded silently through the open door, following the other prisoners. The stun baton was nearly folded away and concealed.

Talus stood to the side of the door, his face impassive as it fell to the side. Beyond he could hear the screaming of the guards, fear and terror echoing through his ears like a sweet song. The corner of his lip curled, and he half turned as he prepared to move through the door.

Before he could take his step a figure moved through the dark.

Lithe, small, and blonde she([member="Matta Rushya"]) slipped through the doorway. For a brief second grey-green met pale yellow, the slight glow to both seeming almost to reflect off of one another. The Kiffar stopped in his tracks, foot hanging in the air as he paused. Time seemed to slow, and then she slid past the security door and beyond. An inmate? Had to be, another guard would have tried to stop him. Would she be useful? If not she could always be disposed of, or bent over the command console.

Either would work for him.

The Sith prepared to move, and then suddenly another shadow(@Neesa) slipped past him.

Talus scowled in displeasure, his movements stopped for a second time as another inmate moved through the security door before him. A growl escaped his throat, and he briefly looked back towards the hallway to see whether or not someone else was coming. When only the viking figure in the distance was spotted Talus slipped through the doorway.

He flinched at the yell behind his back; twisted about right quick with his hydrospanner held out in a trembling hand. “Stay away, and I won’t have to hurt you.”

Like he actually could.

Before she got the chance to try anything, the lights went out. A tiny streak of relief pooled bitter in the back of his mouth. He shoved away from the wall, away from the strange girl with an eyepatch, away from the chaos.

Maud would know what to do here. Or uncle; yeah, uncle would kick everyone’s asses from one end of the ship of another.

Or— or he’d be deeply, painfully disappointed with Des for ending up here in the first place.

Grimacing, he shoved the thought away. Escape now, self-pity later.

He, like [member="Matta Rushya"], was among the scant few whom the dark didn’t bother. Somehow, someway, arkanian genes had stumbled their way into his body, and, well, he wasn’t about to complain. When he’d been younger, it meant mum would think him sound asleep while he was actually still tinkering with his tech; now, it might very well mean the difference between life and death.

Surely Ava wouldn’t disapprove now, would she?

Des scowled as his thoughts wandered down that dark road. Biting his lip for some much needed focus, the man slithered down the corridor, past the broken guards and inmates, past those still fighting, past those who never would again.

He hung back until the meaner, stronger creatures slipped through the doorway, then followed like a shadow on their bloodied heels.

Smarter, not harder. Right?

One good eye. The eye that wasn't behind the crude bacta-patch flickered down to the spark of the hydro spanner in the dark as she felt the sharp-shove from the tattooed stranger in her shoulder. The girl made a lunge for the tool but he slipped on by, like an oily krayt tunnel snake. "Ass-hat," she swore behind [member="Destin Eden"] as bodies and stars knew what else blocked that tiny light of the hydrospanner as it and the ass-hat retreated further away from her and up the crammed and panicked corridor.

A large body suddenly fell into her smaller form as she battled to fight against the tide.

She fell onto the floor. Pinned. Cuffed hands stuck beneath her hip. Bodies on top of bodies. One good eye squinted in the darkness straining to see what she couldn't.

A way out.

Neesa picked a careful path over several fallen soldiers. The corridor was long, shadows drawn out by the dim emergency lighting. In the eerie light the splatters of blood could have been anything. The Force moved on the periphery of her vision. A dark curtain fluttering on the breeze, animated by the chaos and death. It danced beyond her grasp, whispering, teasing. Further back in the hold the guards were still fighting back, but she moved with purpose now. It was time to take back control. That meant storming the bridge. Or at least hanging back and letting the other prisoners do so and ensuring they were successful.

The door next to her slid open. Too focused on what was ahead, swept up in the chaos, she hadn't heard the steps. Neesa turned at the growl but wasn't quick enough to dart away. Someone had stuffed a wookie into a guard's uniform. His hands were around her neck, her lithe form lifted from the ground and slammed into the bulkhead behind her. She twisted, she kicked out. Technique only went so far in the face of raw strength beyond any human.

Taking a grip on furred forearms she lifted her legs from the ground and planted her feet on the wookie's chest. One powerful press barely even loosened her grip and for her efforts she was slammed into the wall again. Her vision started to blur. Would the guard wait until she was weak enough to restrain or were they past that now? Would survival instincts now have the wookie simply tear her head from her shoulders to be done with it?

Scruffy Lookin’ Nerfherder
He awoke in a panic, face in a puddle of warm liquid. He inhaled sharply and the liquid filled his mouth, a bitter, coppery taste. Ophois spat it out, heart beating faster. He pushed himself to his feet and his eyes grew wide at the carnage that surrounded him. Guards and pieces of guards lay strewn about like so much refuse. Their collective vitae flowed together to leave a thick residue upon the floor. A residue that now covered the front of Ophois in a layer of red.

Panic growing, he sought to wipe it off his clothes, but only managed to smear his hands with crimson. He stopped and looked around again.

Did I... Did I do this? No. No I could not have. Those bodies, they lead up the hallway.

In a daze, the willowy youth followed the trail of corpses, illuminated by flickering lights. Suddenly, the lights all went out, casting Ophois into darkness.

He trembled and in a quiet, plaintive voice called out, "Hello?"
