  • Choose Your Gun: The BR-44N can be utilized as a bullpup-style blaster rifle for better accuracy and range, or can have the rail and stock removed for a more classic blaster rifle.
  • Universal Rail Mounting System: The BR-44N's top-mounted rail supports a wide variety of targetting scopes and reticles.
Strengths
  • Take Me Anywhere: Owing to a thin profile, and combined with its lightweight design, the BR-44N can be easily carried in packs or survival kits aboard starfighters with no difficulty.
  • One Shot, One Kill*: The BR-44N's main design point was to be a more powerful weapon for use by pilots in situations where their starfighter has been downed or otherwise inaccessable. To that end, the weapon's individual bolts are spun with more gas and utilizing more energy to produce a more powerful bolt.
*Just a fun name, not a literal declaration of the weapon killing in one hit.
Weakness
  • Running on Empty: While the rifle is meant to be a more powerful weapon choice for pilots and emergency security personnel, the weapon's draw means that the weapon has a considerably shorter gas and power cell life span, necessitating more replacements be packed or carried. This is reflected in the weapon's nature as an emergency weapon, not a first pick.
  • Some Assembly Required: Though not complex, it does take time to remove the rail and bullpup stock, or add them, and return the weapon to firing conditions

Description: Manufactured by Corellian Arms, a subsidy of Corellian Engineering, the BR-44N Service Rifle was created for use by the Galactic Alliance Navy and Starfighter Corp. While not traditionally thought of in regards to needing a weapon, pilots typically pack survival kits in case of emergency or crash landings where either hostile environment or enemy forces are a threat to the pilot's safety. As well, technicians assigned to the hanger for maintenance can often find themselves on the frontlines if an enemy decides to board the vessel, meaning that a readily available weapon was needed on short notice. To that end, the BR-44N was designed to be lightweight and have a small frame, as every kilogram counts when flying a starfighter and technicians don't often have the training to utilize more traditional, and often heavy, blaster rifles. However, care needed to be taken to preserve the weapon platform's combat effectiveness and stopping potential. The result is a pilot's dream, as the weapon is virtually weightless in comparison to other rifles. And its overall shorter frame, particularly without the bullpup attachment, makes the weapon much easier to store in cramped compartments and crates.

As much as one never wishes for a weapon with failings, the nature of the BR-44N means that some things fall short with the rifle. Since size was a considering factor, and as effort was given to maintain the weapon's stopping power, the BR-44N has considerably less ammunition for fire time. A design cousin of sorts, the HBR-01 by I'att Armament boasts more than twice the number of bolts per power cell drained, and thirty-five percent more bolts per drained tibanna gas canister. As well, any time the bullpup stock is added or removed from the main rifle, time must be spent disconnecting the cell and canister and placing them in their new housing. Thus conversion in the middle of a firefight or when pressed by an aggressive lifeform is difficult and considerably life-threatening.

Despite these short-comings, Corellian Arms remains confident that the BR-44N will win over the pilots and other servicemen in the Galactic Alliance.

Stamped this, then realized rate of fire wasn't in there. Can you run through the template you borrowed from Astarii and make sure all the standard template fields are in there?

Also, I'll be talking with him about ammo count. Yours is in relation to his, and it still seems to be on the high side. Got some precedents to show me?
