SPECIAL FEATURES

  • Built-in foregrip
Strengths:
  • Compact: A short-barreled weapon, the BR-1 is compact enough to fit easily with, say, a powered-down B-1
  • Volume Fire: Hold down the trigger, and the BR-1 sprays out blaster bolts like a hose
  • Simple: The lack of gas requirement allows the BR-1 to be supplied only on power packs, meaning troops and supply ships have to carry less ammo types.

Weaknesses:
  • Short Range: Because of the lack of gas cylinders, the rifle struggles to compete with other blaster rifles in range, only retaining effective stopping power up to a hundred meters or so.
  • Inaccurate: As the weapon continues to fire, each subsequent shot becomes more and more inaccurate, similar to the old E-11
  • Heating: Lacking a conventional coolant system, the BR-1 grows hotter as it is used. Prolonged use will burn the hands of most species.

DESCRIPTION
A simplistic and almost basic design, the BR-1 is effective as a blaster rifle for mass production. It can fire fast, at the cost of accuracy, and sacrifices the extra range of most rifles for the ease of only needing power packs for ammo. The small size of the weapon allows for easier cornering in an urban environment, and easier to pack into transport ships and crates for shipping to the front. In the hands of a droid, it’s an effective weapon for most combat situations.
