  • Primary Source: N/A
PRODUCTION
  • Name: Blood of Copero
  • Manufacturer: The Confederacy
  • Affiliation: The Confederacy {Participants of Copero Invasion.}

  • Modularity: No
  • Material: Various Minerals & Synthetic Components
PHYSICAL SPECIFICATIONS
  • Classification: Artificial Gemstone
  • Weight: Light
  • Resistances: No specific resistances

  • Color: Dark Amethyst
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Blood and Fire: These synthetic crystals are exceptionally powerful and designed to double the power of any device they are installed into. Although they were specifically designed for lightsabers they are also capable of being used in blaster rifles and even Starships. Each crystal has an exceptional energy supply that takes years to exhaust. When utilized by a lightsaber the blade of the weapon will almost appear to be covered in thin, roaring flames. Blaster bolts empowered with this crystal will have a similar appearence as they fly through the air.
Strengths
  • Amazing Power: These crystals were created to work as a catalyst for any device they are installed into. When used in a lightsaber the blade will be powerful enough to significantly improve it's damage, including giving it a better edge against lightsaber resistant materials such as Phrik and Cortosis. While it is not enough to allow them a clean cut through, they will be able to penetrate these metals with much more effeciency.
  • Synthetic: Because these crystals are synthetic they can be manufactured on order. However, it takes a significant amount of time and resources for a crystal to successfully be forgeds so the Confederacy will only forge so many at one time.
Weaknesses
  • End game: These crystals were synthetically forged and each one begins to degrade almost immediately after it's first use. Although the crystals have a half life of over four years they will eventually deplete their power supply. Once a crystal has reached it's half life stage it will begin to deteriorate, which can cause their remaining power supply to become unstable and more prone to explosion upon damage.
  • Explosive danger: These crystals house exceptional power, because of this they must be safely guarded. A single crystal that becomes unstable could easily turn into a thermal detonator in seconds. Once a crystal has been compromised there is nothing to stop it from going explosive, the only factor is how long until it explodes. Depending on the damage done it can be as soon as a minute or as far as a month.
  • Installment: These crystals have shown remarkable compatibility with many different weapons and systems. However the crystals are only designed to work with lightsabers and blasters. Utilizing the crystal as a power source for anything larger could result in the crystal beginning to break down. In some rare instances a crystal will self-stabilize itself before this happens, but if too much stress is put on the crystal too fast then it will become compromised and the clock will start ticking.
DESCRIPTION
For years the Confederacy has been attempting to design a new power source. In the beginning they believed looking into advanced power packs would suffice, however none of the packs would ever support the degree of power they were hoping to achieve. Finally, they realized that the best source of power would be one that was fully synthesized. By creating a synthetic version of a Kyber crystal they would find the power they were searching for. Of course, the power of such a crystal would be extremely difficult to recreate, but they came close. After months of trial and error the scientists of the Confederacy were finally able to present, the Blood of Copero. A special power crystal that would magnify the power of any device it was plugged into.

These purple crystals are most stable when used in lightsabers. The blade given off by these crystals alone will be a deep shade of amethyst unless another crystal is used with it. Once activated the lightsaber blade gives off thin whisps of flame-like energy. These flame move and dance with the blade as an example of it's power. When installed into a blaster a similar effect will wrap around the bolts that are fired from the weapon.

While there are certainly many great advantages of having a synthetic crystal, there are consequences. Each crystal can last, at most, for ten years. After that ten years the crystal's life will begin to deteriorate until all that's left is a clear stone which will likely crumble at the touch. While this side effect can not be fixed it is not the worst case scenario. The msot dangerous thing about these crystals is the cost of them being compromised. A precise blaster round or contact with a lightsaber can cause them to rapidly break down to the point of catastrophic expolosion. Powerful and destructive, these crystals were named the Blood of Copero.

[member="Adron Malvern"], You specifically mention Cortosis in the strengths for being able to cut through it. Would this require the Lightsaber to have the circuits taken out to not be shorted out by a Lightsaber, or does the crystal alone provide the effect to cut through Cortosis?

The crystal alone was intended to produce a blade that is not easily shorted out by Cortosis, allowing it to eventually penetrate more sturdy metals like phrik and even withstand the effects of cortosis.

[member="Adron Malvern"], One final question while I still have you.

The Endgame weakness. How many half lives would the crystal go through to have its uses weaken/eventually be rendered inert? OR could the crystal still be used even if the crystal is slowly deteriorating, but due to it becoming more fragile, cause the chance of the explosive tendencies to exponentially increase?
