- Mine Name: Mos Algo
- Material: Phrik
- Location: Western Dune Sea, Tatooine
- Affiliation: Black Sun Syndicate
- Size: Large
- Population: Moderately Staffed
- Profit: High
- Accessibility: Mos Algo's accessibility is limited, mostly due to its surrounding geography and profound lack of recorded data regarding the site. The region is oppressed by blistering heat, blinding sandstorms, and aggressive Tusken Raiders. Mos Algo is far removed from notable trade routes and settlements like Mos Espa and Mos Eisley, enabling the outpost to remain easily discrete. Friendly inbound ships can land at the outpost's landing pad, while foot traffic must come through a security checkpoint guarded by Black Sun mercenaries.
- Description: Mos Algo is a remote, desolate mining settlement on the border of the Western Dune Sea and Northern Jundland Wastes. Recently reoccupied and fortified by the Black Sun syndicate, Mos Algo has been repurposed into a fully operational mining and smuggling outpost. Most local communities forgot about Mos Algo centuries ago, making it perfect for Black Sun's illicit operations. Spice processing, contraband smuggling, and unregulated mineral extraction are the outpost's primary functions.

- Control Center: The hub of Black Sun's operations in Mos Algo is a large two-story building that likely served as a hostel during the settlement's heyday. It now houses secured storerooms for contraband and supplies, a barracks for syndicate mercenaries, and an upstairs office for higher-ups to convene privately.
- Landing Pad: Mos Algo's landing pad was one of only a few original structures to resist weathering due to its reinforced durasteel frame. Though its sandstone stucco is worn in places, the structure is sound enough for large freighters to land on during supply runs to Mos Algo.
- Lost Sandcrawler: At some point during Mos Algo's lengthy abandonment, a Jawa tribe piloted their sandcrawler between two mesas surrounding the settlement. Evidently, a large rockslide damaged the sandcrawler beyond repair, forcing the tribe to abandon it. The massive mobile fortress was later inhabited by another tribe of Jawas who eagerly restored its interior despite the impossibility of it being excavated. It now serves as a droid chop shop of sorts, where the tribe is more than happy to buy junk droids for refurbishment or salvage.
- Mos Algo Trading Post: Though outwardly owned by an employee of Ubrikkian, it is no secret that the trading post is Black Sun's black market outlet in Mos Algo. Smugglers, bounty hunters, and scoundrels make quiet stops in Mos Algo to unload hot items or pick up a little something special during their travels.
- Phrik Mines: Bad luck and poor eyesight caused Mos Algo's mining operation to fail centuries ago, but Black Sun's pockets ran deep enough to contract a successful survey team who struck something worth far more than gold - phrik. Black Sun's mineshafts are a dizzying network that run through, under, and around the massive mesa that Mos Algo is tucked against. They run deep, wide, and rich with phrik. Smaller deposits of lackluster minerals have also been found and are processed on site, but the phrik veins are where the credits are at.
- Workers' Camp: While automated mining droids are preferable to an organic crew, hiding such a large electronic energy signature from scanners is extremely difficult. Black Sun fields its mining crew with locals from neighboring settlements like Mos Eisley, scouting for people who are down on their luck or willing to work any job that puts food on the table. Discretion is key, and most of Mos Algo's miners are just happy for steady work; fear of the consequences for betraying Black Sun discourages whistleblowers.

High. Black Sun has installed sensor arrays, automated defenses, and guard posts to deter intrusions. Key areas are locked down, accessible only via keycards or brute-force entry. Thanks to its tight-knit relationship with the Most Honorable Guild of Armorers, Black Sun protects Mos Algo's perimeter with a shield generator array produced by C4-10 Mobile Shield Generator Walkers. Mos Algo's command center is secured by Falleen foot soldiers loyal to the syndicate, known as the Black Sun Guard.

By all accounts, or at least those that remain, Mos Algo found its beginnings as a simple mining town on the edge of Tatooine's Dune Sea. The promises of rich phrik deposits saw the settlement founded, but after 140 days of dry veins, it was slowly abandoned. By the year 3 ABY, it was entirely empty. Not even the mighty Galactic Mining Guild saw much success with the site. For several years, the Hutt Cartel under leadership of Jabba Desilijic Tiure utilized the dilapidated settlement as a shadowport. It faded in and out of use throughout the centuries as ambitious mining cooperatives passed ownership back and forth, until eventually all activity ceased in the area.
When Black Sun rose to prominence following the Hutt Space Consortium's collapse in the latter half of the 800s ABY, info brokers within the syndicate secured corroborated records of Mos Algo's location and the resource surveys that spurred its construction. Careful reassessment discovered the culprit of the Mining Guild's failure: a small miscalculation that cost them millions. Eager to keep this revelation quiet and capitalize on the old shadowport's isolation, Black Sun got to work right away with retrofits to Mos Algo's structures. A few short years later, the mining settlement was a functional piece of the syndicate's operations in the Mara Corridor.
Mos Algo's largest client is Escharum Risk Control, a quiet corporate partner of the Confederacy of Independent Systems whose demand for phrik-plating and conveniently located droid factories on Geonosis fuels an impressive partnership. Mos Algo also serves as a shadowport once again for smugglers and black market dealers throughout the Southern Systems, offering a reliable location to lose hot items or pick up less-than-legal supplies.
