Black Lagoon

She chewed on her lower lip a little thinking about it. "Well not much, most are pre republic and these one." She pointed to the K'kybek. "From what my mother said and showed were possibly pre-celestial. They were around millions of years on their world and created some of the first superweapons using crystals. From the designs it fired a massive wave that disrupted hyperspace and was made to isolate systems." She had been there when they had been exploring it as a little girl with her sisters all roaming around and the planet was well ancient. Ruined on top of ruins and the remains of a weapon none of them understood how it worked but what it did was in the math. Hyperspace nullification as a means to impede and stop development of a civilization or even create areas where you couldn't navigate and go through hyperspace.

Ready are you? What know you of ready?
Sorel listened. “Why do so many amazing technological and Force related opportunities get used for weapons? I mean, I understand using crystals in sabers — but these are for defence as opposed to attack. Yet everywhere you look in history you see superweapons, or technology used to invade planets, kill thousands if not billions or subjugate planets.”

The look on her face told how seriously she took the subject.

“I hope whatever we find will not be used for such endeavours. If that were the case, I’d rather wipe any records we find and pretend we never found this place.”

Prihime looked at her as she nodded in agreement of it all. They were going over some of the finer details but it seemed crystals, the larger the more likely to have been used in ancient superweapons. "well my mother has no plans for things like that but ancient species saw the raw power of the galaxy and they were in a time where maybe it was needed to maintain everything. All the groups before the republic make it seem like children playing with toys compared to the power they wielded."

Sorel's brow furrowed. "At the end of the day we have to trust our elders with this information. The day I start to doubt the coalition is the day I leave it."

Sorel looked serious now. "Not that I do doubt it...not yet. Although I've made no secret of my confusion that we ally with dark-siders." She shrugged. "But that's just me I guess." Her face brightened once more. "Too serious, let's move on."

Looking at her friend and agreeing with her while she gave a small nod of her head going over with a smirk on her face. "Not the only one, it is just something that has happened and changed with many of them." She gave a look though while going over some of the stuff they had been working on. Informaiton here could come in handy as she led the way into the area deeper with the evolution of their space ships and it was mostly rockets... and a few that looked like they might be able to fly for awhile but it was propelled and had no hyperdrive ability. She understood while they seemed to have more from the stone as it was there being shown to work as a fuel source and a housing for the engine that allowed it to convert and store large amounts of energy that was used to power the ship.

Sorel took all of the technology in. It was mostly old and pre-dated current standards but some had interesting historic value and others were simply funny to see now.

But the fact they were able to store and convert huge amounts of energy was fascinating. In part Sorel didn't know if this had a modern application but studying it was at least fun for a while.

"So they travelled amongst the stars but probably didn't get very far." She was stating the obvious but said it anyway. "But this is cool to look at, regardless. I wander what else we might find? I'd be keen to see any evidence of Force Users here."

"Based on their level of technology force users may have been considered magic. It seems primitive enough for many of the things that could be shown." She stayed with it while she was going over many of the bigger things until she walked. All of their information in the panels seemed to show they used the crystals and stone to create advances in technology that allow it to progress faster but they weren't seeing much when she came upon other things. More panels and statues showing ornately dressed people who seemed to show off mysticism and different arts but she couldn't be certain reading about how they could read minds and move objects with their minds or some of the others were more dangerous able to enter the minds and control the actions of others.

"I guess every planet has Force Users. I mean, even if they didn't understand the Force as we do, or have learned many of the more advanced uses of it, I suspect that people on this planet will have used it. Some knowingly and some without ever understanding what they were doing. As you say, some might have been considered magicians and others simply hid what they did to achieve what they wanted without being recognised as using some preternatural force."

"I suspect every planet develops in its own way. In some areas they seem quite advanced whereas in other ways, their technology seems quite antiquated."

Sorel looked around. "But the crystals and stones were certainly central to the whole thing."

Yeah the force crystals and the rock seemed to be an important advancement and part of their culture. Everything using it which meant to the padawan... They needed to continue to investigate and have some interest while going through. All of the prenatural advancements in the world here could amount to a small fraction of what the jedi knew sure but it was important to them. it meant something to them as a sign of their culture and it seemed to also help unite the world into their own little place in the galaxy. Orihime was going through in and there was more signs of the people. Religions on the walls showing people preforming miracles to heal the sock and infirm with their magics. Some were acclaimed and some seemed to be burned at the stake.

Sorel followed Orihime’s gaze. “It seems a story that has been replicated throughout the galaxy. Those that use the Force seen as gods or devils. Sometimes both. Ignorance possibly kills more people than anything else in my opinion.”

She looked at the images painted on the walls. “Some charlatans no doubt, but also Force Users no doubt. No Sith or Jedi rules or dogma, just people free to use their abilities as they saw fit.” There was a faraway look in Sorel’s eyes. “Interesting.”

She was looking at her and gave a nod. "I don't think they were alive when there were jedi or sith... or even the Je'daii and the Bendu. They seem to be older then the Republic but this far out I doubt they would have met anyone unless they were looking." She was excited though going over everything that they had to work with and getting the information. The look in Sorels eyes though had her interest when she was walking and the building came out on a larger park showing some other things of interest. They weren't ignorant of space or what was there but most of those looked like probes and relays or beacons instead of ships. Something sent to deep space with a welcoming message of friendship possibly. "What are you thinking about?"

Sorel Crieff

Sorel looked surprised. “Me? I’m not particularly thinking of anything. I don’t think so, anyhow.” She looked thoughtful for a few moments. “Nope, nothing in particular. At least, nothing specific.”

She smiled. “Maybe I was wondering what’s for lunch?” The smile spread to a broad grin. “But seriously, there was nothing on my mind. Did I seem distracted?”

Hmmm lunch. Orhime looked at her with a nod of her head. "Well can't read your thoughts like many of the others in the order but hmmm I could use some lunch." She was wondering about it and there was a number of things they might be able to eat as she thought about it. Providing a smile on her face before she checked her belt and there were some of the MRE's and snack cakes for meals, the water energizers or a number of smaller ration cubes. Plus some seasoning so the cubes had more flavor then just chalk. "I could go for something to eat around here just have to find a nice place to go and eat."

Sorel Crieff

Ready are you? What know you of ready?
Sorel looked at her own rations. She’d lived on packaged food for many years and the prospect of something fresh was oddly overwhelming. “There must be something around here we could eat. Animals we could catch and cook? Vegetables we could boil and fruit we could pick. What do you think? Should we scavenge something local?”

[member="Orihime Ike"]

[member="Sorel Crieff"]

"We should look for something though we do have some of the rations should we need it. My mother has worked to make sure all of the food we eat while working on the different things." She said it and well there was a look on her face when she moved outside to go and look around for any food they might be able to find. With some of the bigger things they could search. "Maybe we'll find some creatures or some food out there in the gardens. I didn't recall seeing any fruit trees or gardens out there along the way but all worlds usually have something that can be eaten." She knew some people could cook cactus and other strange things for food.

A look of doubt began to creep onto Sorel’s face. “You make a good point. Even food that looks familiar to us may be poisonous on this planet. Without any reference point, to eat off the land unless it’s absolutely necessary, is probably just a risk too far.”

She smiled. “Maybe we should just find a good spot and pool our food and have a picnic. Yes, that sounds like a good idea. I have a blanket in my bag, I can spread it out under the shade of one of the trees.”

And she found a perfect spot and began to unpack her bag.

Orihime looked at her and a picnic sounded lovely after all of their exploring no monsters, no intrigue but they were learning about the planet itself... This was an interesting place but they needed to be careful and plot it out while she had her canteen and her food pouches on her belt with a nod of her head. "Agreed a picnic sounds good now got some MRE's and snack cakes from my mom, the water enhancers and one fo her canteens for producing water. Also some food, we should be able to make a meal out of it just need to add the water." The dry packed vacuum sealed and set up meals were there in their little multicolored glory waiting for water to be added while she was looking at it. ""This one is beef and potatos."

Sorel Crieff

In truth the food they’d brought was actually very tasty and nutritious. There was a mix of sweet and savoury and Sorel also had a selection of dried herbs and spices she used to add flavour to her ration packs.

Water was her staple drink, rarely venturing for anything else, apart from her Master’s delicious fruit drinks — which were also highly nutritious.

She sat back and nibbled at one of the snack cakes before paying attention to the vacuum sealed offering. “Beef and potato? Sounds good to me. We can share it yes?”

Sorel had a healthy appetite, given how physical Jedi were, so she grazed on many of the foods on offer until she felt very full. Lying back, she closed her eyes.

“Maybe time for a little nap before we continue?”

Hmm all of that sounded perfect and good for it as she was looking over many of the things. Bringing out the ration packs and the canteen while she spoke giving a look. "Yes and yes to it. We have plenty enough to share and a small nap here can help us continue forward." She was happy to work with it using one fo the small bowls as she set the food in it and the water to fill it with a look to make sure it was all covered in the water before it started puffing up into a full meat. The meat was juicy and Sorel was working on it with a little convection to heat it up so she could cut along the beef and get herself some. "Hmmm that looks very very good." She was happy to eat some producing a spork.

It was such a change of pace that it almost caught Sorel by surprise. A picnic. A little nap. It was so peaceful that Sorel almost felt guilty. She was a Jedi and relaxation was for others.

She wasn’t sure how long she dozed off for, but when she woke, she realised she had been dribbling and so quickly wiped the saliva off her chin. Sitting up, she stretched her arms and yawned. “OK, playtime is over, time to get going again.”

She tidied away the food and packed away her blanket. “OK, what’s next?”
