"well healthy and different outfits for different situations. THose robes on a planet with a lot of lava could be dangerous for catching on fire... you want some of the more bodysuit style outfits." She was looking at some of the things there and putting them back while she walked around. She had a collection of different robes ready for the different things. "My mother makes different robes for different situations because she said you well learn these things and while important for everyone to learn lessons there was less point of not trying to help out." Orihime srugged not sure of it when she was walking around clasping her hands behind her back and she knew her mother was designing different equipment and robes for all fo the jedi. "So I have been thinking about some of the other things, mainly that ore we discovered, if it collects and enhances energy. It might be possible to make it into a lightsaber power cell. A stronger cells with more focused energy and a longer laster cell can bypass some of the problems in cutting through say beskar or phrik.""

Ready are you? What know you of ready?
Sorel nodded. Every Jedi knew of the story of Anakin Skywalker on Mustafar. His circumstances were slightly different but the fire that consumed his body was caused by extreme heat.

But the subject quickly changed and to a subject that definitely interested Sorel. She researched and experimented with different crystals in her sabers – using different combinations to see what the resulting blade’s properties were. But she’d never considered using a different energy cell. She’d simply used the standard ones on offer from the Jedi quartermasters.

“You have my attention. What do we need to do?”

Hahaha good good, they could gather the ore here and work with it for the idea she had. "We'll need as much of the ore as we can get preferably raw to work on processing it and testing it. Means we'll need to go up onto the mountains and the hills. Those notes we took showed a research facility in the mountains they they used from an old mine. We might be able to find some things from there." She said it and was excited while walking through the back door of the shop opening the door and looking at everything there was. As the night was coming the street lights glowed softly behind caked dirt but you could just make it out when she was looking at them. "Maybe a power cell like a ryllith crystal, they convert solar energy ito power."

Sorel Crieff

Ready are you? What know you of ready?
Sorel nodded. Mining was the answer to many questions – and this time was no different. Ore was no doubt required but the prospect of a research facility attached to a mine made the prospect rather more enticing for Sorel.

“Mining it is but it would be good to take a look around the research facility – and I’d be keen to learn more about the sort of power cells I could consider using in my sabers. A rylith power cell sounds intriguing. Am I right in surmising that the energy output could be increased? But does it also draw power from artificial light? I was wondering if it would lose power if on a long space journey.”

"Rylith power cells in a lightsaber would make it always functional but it would not increase the energy output. Compared to diathium power cells which generate the power to contain their own output and recycle it so that it lasts for an undeterminable amount of time depending on the use and how often if you ever need to recharge." The padawan was looking at her and she had worked with her mother asking the same question about it. Isotope five provided a far superior energy output cell when she gave a nod of her head. "Though there might be some of the things we'd be abel to do with it, who knows what there may be."

Ready are you? What know you of ready?
Sorel listened and realised that her interest in technology was at a very superficial level. She had an innate and intuitive way with droids and ships but that was largely around repairing and re-setting their calibration and potential use. Her astrodroid was little more than the droid she first inherited but her protocol droid was in fact an assassin model that she’d befriended and adapted to inhibit its more blood-thirsty tendencies – even if she’d only had a partial success in its speech patterns. She’d curbed much of its unsavoury language but not made any headway in its use of sarcasm as a primary mode of communication.

“I’d like to spend more time working on different power cells if the opportunity arises. But first, I guess we have a mine to visit.”

She was guessing the same and they would be able to do a whole lot of good maybe at this as Orihime was looking at it. They needed to work on some of the things before she thought about it. "We are going to need our jeep." She said it with a nod of her head prepared for it and walking back towards the jeep so they could use the skyfall and travel on the roads they had developed. "It will be quicker with the jeep while we work on some of these other things." There was the datapad with information they could pour over, there was the stuff they had found and things they might be able to discover along the way. The mine in the north was just a place, the adventure was the important thing.

Sorel Crieff

Ready are you? What know you of ready?
Sorel nodded. They’d wandered around the site but it had taken time. Travelling to the mines would be a long journey, so the jeep on Orihime’s ship would be invaluable. And, as her friend suggested, they could do work as they travelled. A review of any satellite images, any records in the database. Anything that could help them pinpoint their action ns once they reached the mine – as opposed to simply walking around until they found something.

“Are there any records of what they were most recently working on?”

Hmm she was looking at the datapad and reviewing it for anything while heading back towards the jeep with Sorel. A small task but if there was anything new on the information that was tens of thousands of years old. "Seems they were working with the hibridium and sleg to try and make a cloaking device that would have improved and advanced power levels. So it would be abel to be kept going for a longer period of time... and I am going to guess if the cloaking device had its own power they would be able to attack from behind it sould anything come at them. A second generator or power cells for weapons would provide an advantage for a time if you were moving and unable to be detected."

Sorel Crieff

Ready are you? What know you of ready?
Sorel never failed to be amazed at Orihime’s depth and breadth of knowledge. "Those components are new to me. But that is merely a reflection on my limited teaching to date I guess. You seem to know so much, it’s amazing. But the idea of a cloaking device like that sounds marvellous and advanced for this civilisation.” She smiled. “Or at least advanced for this brain.” She tapped the side of her head.

“I’m glad we have people like you to keep us right,” she said – beaming at her friend. “You’re invaluable.”

A cloaking device for this civilization coul be nicely advanced for what they would need. She coudl think about it and the idea of the entire planet having such a decive... that could make for a better defense measure compared to just shields or fleets. Just don't have the planet there if people come at it or make it seem like it had been destroyed. She could get behind that while beaming a little at Sorel's compliments... Those were just as good and free as she knew it to get before staying the course and providing a smile. "THank you and if all goes well and it usually does. My mother always returned from trips with a wealth of new knowledge. Finding lost jedi archives and planets that were forgotten was an important thing to her so my sisters and I learned a lot."

Sorel Crieff

Ready are you? What know you of ready?
Sorel knew first hand all about finding out about new things from working with her Master – but that also went for her good friend. She’d found two holocrons and the Noetikons and she was still only a Padawan. And the former two she’d discovered with Orihime.

And this trip promised so much more. Who knew what they might discover – although Sorel herself felt she already had too much information to ever fully learn from and hoped that whatever they found could be shared out amongst other Jedi of the Silver Order.

But of course knowledge found did not have to be anything as tangible as a holocron. It could just as easily be a blueprint, or a formula or a new alloy.

“The day I stop learning is the day I stop being a Jedi I suspect.”

[member="Sorel Crieff"]

"Or the day you become a sith.. because from what I have seen they know everything and will never have to learn again." She was looking at her when they arrived in the jeep prepared to work at it stowing away her gear as she climbed in and started setting it all up on the map with a nod of her head. "We'll be able to make it." Getting i the coordinates when she was pushing some of the attention to the other things that they had. Orihime was bringing up more of the displays on the glass of the jeep so she could see it and in the dark it had the enhancement for low light and night vision to allow the jedi to navigate through the night area down the highways.

Sorel Crieff

Ready are you? What know you of ready?
Sorel smiled. “I’d like to think it was a Sith trait, but I suspect that there are plenty of Jedi that do not practise sufficiently and yet expect to be proficient in untold abilities. But then I guess I’m biased.”

Despite the speed they were travelling at, Sorel was comfortable with the progress Orihime was making – given the displays on offer, the low-light enhancements and Orihime’s driving ability.

“I need to get one of these,” she said – earnestly. “I’m sure I can fit one in the cargo bay of my ship. As long as I take some of the cargo out.” Sorel had boxes and boxes of various things in her hold – useful for trading or giving to those in need. She had no credits and used things she’d picked up along the way as a method of ensuring she’d never run short of the things she needed.

[member="Sorel Crieff"]

She offered a grin to that and yes they could use some of the ideas that were working on it and a padawan or two she had met who thought they never had to learn anything more. They were so much more powerful but the girl nodded her head. "I think we can fit something like this into your ship, the skyfalls are designed for the jedi and if need be we can take off the cannon mount and add some space for keeping things in there." She was prepared with a nod of her head until she looked at the roads they were on places off tot he side and some signs but there was not a lot of things that she was able to see completely from lack of slowing down. "We will be making good time as this has plenty of time to charge the secondary power crystals and we'll have it to make good time."

Sorel Crieff

Ready are you? What know you of ready?
Sorel looked over the jeep as they travelled. “It will fit, I’m sure. But you’re right, I don’t need the cannon mount – and I’d appreciate using that space for more supplies. Sometimes I can’t land next to where I need to be and I have considered putting a speeder-bike on board but that would be great for travel but no good for transporting anything – either to or from my ship.”

She was pleased at this by-product of her trip here. She had never intended to ask for a jeep, but the more she thought about it, the more it made sense.

As they travelled, she looked around the jeep – her mind already thinking about upgrades or alternatives she could add to the vehicle. It had been a while since she’d tinkered with her ship or droids and now she had a new project to keep her busy on journeys.

[member="Sorel Crieff"]

"That will work, there are a number of new supplies I know are being worked on and having access to them will come in handy. Aside from jsut the better and improved food stuffs that you will be able to work for it yourself. There is also some new equipment for protective units or even droids using the information they are getting from medical bases." Orihime was looking at more of the things they were developing like her favorite with the different types of things. new medical works as well as manufacturing for equipment... oh dear the equipment they had to work with different things and to work with even more information wise. She knew there were some grand scale projects being developed while she was driving through the road . She kept going while leaving the main lights off in case there was something here on the planet. They might discover some secret creature that came out at night away from the cities... but you could be never certain when they were weaving along the winding roads.

Ready are you? What know you of ready?
The more Sorel listened, the more she respected Orihime for her deep knowledge and the greater became her desire to become a guardian. For all of the advancement in technology, what she aspired to more than anything else was to talk her way out of trouble and use her saber if all else failed. Technology paid a huge part in everyone’s life – but Sorel wanted to live at the edge. The place where your wits and reflexes meant the difference between success and failure. Life and death.

She didn’t undervalue technology or the work Orihime was doing and she knew countless Jedi as well as everyday folk would benefit hugely from the work on improved food stuffs or medical droids. But Sorel believed her destiny lay elsewhere.

As she stared out into the night, the Force nagged away at her and the hairs on the back of her neck rose. “There is something following us – and at great speed. And given it’s silent – or at least less noisy than the jeep, I get the feeling it’s a predator. But I can’t pinpoint it. Not yet, anyway.”

[member="Sorel Crieff"]

She gave a nod of her head when she was keeping it towards weaving through what is out and around between the roads. The turn out came when she was going and checking every sensor she could. "Yeah there is something but it is smart, likely knows what it is doing this far out and is used to unwary travelers who stumble upon this world that it can kill." A good way to get food if there wasn't any basic and simple life for it to eat, likely a remnant of what it is that might be from the world. Or it could be something that was brought here in a ship and it escaped... Either way it might not bode well when she was moving the jeep up the road to go into it as the maps were updating with what she could see. "We are going to fast for the motion tracker to pick it up and keep it within the range the jeep has but if it keeps following us then we might get more information. it could be in its territory or it could have just homed in on us and is chasing us."

Sorel Crieff

Ready are you? What know you of ready?
One of the things Sorel prided herself on was her thorough preparation. She understood all about the planet she’d visit and the people she’d meet. Where she – and any other Jedi – was at a disadvantage was when they were presented with the unknown. And there was nothing Sorel recollected reading about as native to this planet that would be big enough to pose a threat to them. Which meant this was something that was imported – or a creature that had evolved in the absence of humans, perhaps to become the top of the food chain. It was not unheard of to find such monsters littered around the galaxy.

“Agreed,” Sorel said quickly, the sensation of being followed not leaving her and she trusted the Force ahead of any technology – every time.

“But whatever its reason for following us, it’s still coming. Believe me.”
