The Righteous

"Why?" Aela said as she observed the boy. "What would that gain us?"She mused to them all. They were padawans, they needed to understand. "The Darkside is corrupting, yes, it is evil, yes, and it should not be used, but there is something to gain from them. Perhaps it is the lessons, a warning, perhaps it is their evil. It is something to be observed, to be watched, and eventually to be defeated. To defeat them we need to know of them, and what better source than their own strengths of knowledge?"
That line of thinking was dangerous, very dangerous.
Aela knew that already, her father had taught her, her uncle, her grandmother. They had all told her about the power of the Darkside, they had all told her that they had utilized it and some even still did. There was strength in it, but there was also corruption. It was that corruption that Aela so abhorred, that she feared. It was a strong pull, a tug that was almost a near constant. No one could resist it, and those that could fend it off for a time would eventually fall. Aela knew that, most knew it, but some simply denied it. That was their undoing.
"It's dangerous, yes." She continued on. "Yet kept under safe guard, under watch it can be properly used."
She didn't like that way of thinking, not really anyway. "That being said, care must be taken with artifacts of the darkside. There are vaults, facilities where that knowledge is and should be kept. Where it can do no harm and corrupt no beings. It is why we're here, to bring that knowledge to those vaults."
