Beneath the Surface

Moudir stood upon the a ridge overlooking the ruins of what once used to be tombs and structures that glorified the strong as Gods. It was once a place where the strongest of his ancestors were laid to rest and immortalized. The scorching sun was closing down on the horizon signalling the arrival of dusk.

Vraukt had to soon arrive unless he found to be foolish and make him wait for at least an hour before he showed up with no excuse. The heat was already tiring him and the Zuguruk shuffled to the nearest shade he found. Even under the shadow, he felt his brow sweating.

The darn Kissai better arrive soon.

There were some structures up ahead that the Sith Pureblood could see. Likely, it was the tomb he had to go to, and when he pulled his datapad off of his belt to verify, he saw that he was right. There was a beeping red dot that showcased his contact was within the structure, or at least in its immediate vicinity. The shockwave blip across the screen didn't really help.

He paused for a moment, and then he went forwards.

He was on time, or around the time he was supposed to arrive.

Vraukt reached out to the Force to the Zuguruk he was to meet. He'd wait to approach and just stood in the blistering heat in his dark cloak. Once he got the affirmative, then he would come closer.

The ripples through the Force notified Moudir of Vraukt's presence. He took a glimpse from the corner of the natural rock formation that was protecting him from the heat to see the Pureblood standing in the heat with a dark cloak on top. The Zuguruk could only imagine how much sun those dark drapes attracted. It even made him sweat more.

Stepping into the light once more, the Sith waved his hand as he approached his associate.

"Vraukt." He acknowledged him and then turned to look at the ruins that stood in front of the two. Before he continued, he took out his datapad and a holoprojection materialized before them from the small object. "These are the blueprints of the tomb we seek. Their accuracy...might be a bit off considering the damage this has sustained."

"There's even a chance that a dead end would mark our mission here as a failure. Do you wish to continue ?"

Vraukt swept his gaze left and right until he spotted the being he was looking for. When [member="Moudir"] had made himself known, the aspiring Warrior strode forwards over the sands to the structure until they came face to face, and then he paused as he looked the stranger up and down.

Huh.

So this was the Zuguruk he was meant to meet?

If they were foraging into some tomb, he suspected that he was meant to protect the Zuguruk. Easy enough, and then he pulled out a datapad with a projector, all the while pocketing his own as he did his best to commit the holographic display to memory. In the tombs he could only imagine what sort of nonsense would cause it to break.

"I didn't come out here, to turn back."

He strode past him.

"Let's go."

Alright, brave heart.

The Zuguruk kept his thoughts to himself and followed the Massassi beyond towards the once proud structures of their ancestors. An eerie wind picked up waving their cloaks as they proceeded towards the specific entrance of an unnamed tomb. The duo looters would begin a descent on a stairways into the darkness. The shadows at the end of the stairway hid their destination.

Only when their eyes would adapt to the dark in the shade would they say a torn down door. The entrance to the tomb, wide open. Dread coarsed through his veins. The door seemed torn down recently if the Zuguruk's knowledge of these constructions was right.

Abruptly, four Sith hounds dashed from the entrance and headed straight towards the duo. Moudir didn't think twice before he turned his back to flee behind the Massassi.

Vraukt watched his compatriot from the corner of his eyes as they descended down the steps to what he suspected to be boredom and lacking in adventure. He almost never got the exciting missions. Those ones were reserved for his cousins, Arvengis and Arsaud. He wondered if A'sharad had sent them away as he had sent him away.

So karking hot.

Even in the shade.

And then Vraukt heard the growling from the animals before he heard them. Of course, that also meant his companion, [member="Moudir"] was off and on his way as the young Pureblood drew out his lightsabre and ignited the crimson beam. It was old, likely borrowed from an older sibling as he brandished the weapon. He hadn't noticed that the Zuguruk had fled until he heard his steps echoing off the walls.

Oh.

It's like that.

And then the six foot Pureblood was forced to turn tail and run as well, unfortunately. If there as something else in the tombs, he had to make sure the Zuguruk came out of it alive. That was his purpose here.

Guide and protect.

To Moudir's surprise when he finally had the guts to look back, he saw the Massassi run too. With a...lightsaber ignited in his hand ?

"Wha- What are you doing ??" The Zuguruk snapped at Vraukt as they continued fleeing the bloodthirsty hounds. "You are running with a lightsaber in your hand, fool!! Turn around and skewer these dogs!! Now!"

Nonetheless, the cowardly Sith kept on running leaving the Massassi to do what he was told...or keep following him as they fled. Was their mission bound to finish so soon ?

He hoped not. Much knowledge was to be found beneath within that tomb.

Vraukt was insulted.

[member="Moudir"] would go no further.

His right hand was sent forwards to the Zuguruk, and he tugged with the Force as he began to slow down. That was all he needed for when he spun, ancient lightsabre hilt in his left hand, he flicked his wrist behind his back, the tip of the lightsabre carving a scorching path through the skull and face of the first Tuk'ata that leapt at him.

It's maw was still open, perhaps even larger, and if the Zuguruk had indeed fallen, he would've been in trouble with the corpse of the tuk'ata likely falling atop him.

Vraukt was a brute.

He used the Force to propel himself into the next one as he dug it into its heart as they slammed into each other, the larger beast knocking him flat on his back, winding him as its paws came up into the air.

Oh.
