Kyell looked down at her and his frown only deepened. He had never seen anything like this happen to her before, so he wondered what changed, or if something happened that she wasn't even aware of. It filled his heart with fear, especially after her injury and with what remained of their mission. If they left now, these people would never be free again but if they stayed, he felt like he was endangering her life.

As a Jedi, he knew what the right thing to do was, but it certainly wasn't the easy route.

<We'll save them but stay close to me, and tell me if you can't keep going anymore, okay?> He asked, unable to hide the worry in his tone. He brought his arms around her for a moment, hugging her to his chest, before he finally let go and tested to see if she could stand on her own feet.

<If you can keep going, you can join me. But if you can't, then you're going back, and I will go down there alone.> This wasn't a matter of heroics, but it was the only way he felt all lives could be protected.

Jand was quick to draw their fire, and the others rushed at the gap, beginning to scatter the slaver's ranks. Jasper was quick to follow, taking out a few slavers with his crossbow while he cut his way through their line. Notably, they were beginning to have an effect on the slaver's ranks. Their blaster bolts began to be more frantic, less accurate, and some even began to desert. A part of that was no doubt Thelma. Her fighting style was... unorthodox, almost more animalistic than calculated. They seemed to not be able to adjust to such chaos. A little more, and Jasper was sure that they could send them running. But what to do...

The sound of heavier blaster fire rang out. Atop a nearby tower, Jasper caught a glimpse of the slavers' turret, seemingly their only one. Loosing that would no doubt be crippling. Mustering his strength, Jasper dragged the turret down to him, slicing through it with his lightsaber. Without any heavy fire to cover them, the slavers had little more to keep them from being overwhelmed.

"Alright!" Jasper shouted to the others. "Thin them out!"

Miri took solace in Kyell’s embrace, leaning on him. He was her home, her sanctuary. When she was alone with him, the rest of the world seemed to disappear. It was the same here on the silenced slaver station.

But it wasn’t to last. He gave her an ultimatum, forcing her to make a choice. Either she had to pick herself up and keep going, or he would take her back and leave her while he went on alone.

She thought of him facing off against hordes of slavers on his own. But the vision wasn’t populated by the faceless goons they had been facing. No, she saw Sahar Sahar and Hacks Hacks and Force knew what else lying in the shadows ahead, waiting to strike.

Miri wasn’t naïve. She knew that a stab wound to the back was dangerous. Going with him and continuing to fight would push her body to its limits. She’d be tempting fate.

But if anything happened to Kyell because she wasn't there to defend him, she’d never be able to forgive herself. She had already suffered the loss of a loved one because she wasn't there for them. She wouldn't make the same mistake again.

Her fingers clutched at his back, gathering folds of fabric in her fists, before suddenly unclenching. She released her hold on him, standing upright, and nodded her head.

<I’ll stay with you.> Steeling herself against the pain, she reached down to pick up her dropped shotgun and reloaded the shells. <Let’s go.>

The group were effective, utilizing enemy weaknesses and team tactics.

It wasn't long before Jand found his way through the line, as he noted Thelma engaged in much the same, with the Nagai cutting through slavers one after the other. He held no feelings about it one way or the other, in fact the emotional response might as well have been akin to a lightsaber training session against air. The screams, the shouts, the panic, it mattered little to the deafened cares of him.

Jand rounded a corner, prepared to engage more slavers, but instead found a locked blast door. The markings on the door itself indicated some kind of holding room, which caused the Nagai to approach, curious. He wasn't able to get by the security lock, so instead he adjusted the emitter of his lightsaber - the blade thinning once more, but thrumming more powerfully - before he stabbed it into the thick durasteel.

Behind, the sound of heavy turret fire ceased; it seemed likely one of the group had taken out the emplacement, or the crew, if not both.

In front of Jand, the lightsaber blade began to push further and further inside, as the metal began to melt. The door lock glowed bright orange, as liquid metal began to drip and drop to the ground with hisses, until finally there was a dull crack. The door opened as Jand used the Force to split both sides, mindful of the molten metal as he did so...

"I have sentients," Jand said through his comlink. "At least two dozen. I will begin escorting them to freedom."

Within the dark holding room, various sentients slowly stood and peered at the Nagai with the lightsaber. Some were nervous, some understood the significance of the blue blade, and with the final confirmation of safety from Jand's words, they began to move forward. In turn, the pale Padawan spun and began to lead the way, as he guarded from wayward slavers, ushering the crowd through the facility, back the way the Jedi group had come.

Along the way, Jand activated the comlink one last time:

"I will see these sentients to the ships and will remain to guard them. Good luck, do not die."

While he didn't like giving her ultimatums like this, he felt it was the only way he could ensure her safety, but it wasn't without risk. If she left him to fight the slavers on his own, he'd struggle a lot more, and there was always the chance he'd be caught by surprise. His record with confronting the wrong types of people on his own wasn't exactly great, after all.

But if he had to get through this alone to keep her safe, he'd do it without second thoughts. She meant everything to him, and what he wanted most was a long and happy life together. However, if something bad were to happen, he'd always be ready and willing to take the hit for her.

After a long moment of holding her, she finally gave her answer when she squeezed his clothing, composed herself, and pushed through physical pain to stand on her own feet. He couldn't help but smile a little because of her strength, but he still looked her over one more time to be sure. <Alright, let's go get them and stay close to me.> He leaned in close, placed a hand on her cheek, and pressed a kiss against her forehead.

Kyell then turned around and moved straight for the enslaved people he had felt earlier. They were still heavily guarded and soon enough, the Jedi couple reached their position. Some were taking cover behind barrels or crates, while others were hiding behind the corners of the hall. But none of it mattered, as Kyell finally set aside his hesitancy to engage, and charged straight through their first line of defenses. With his violet blade, he struck down several slavers around him but he made sure it was at least quick for them.

When he really set his mind to something, he was a lot more effective than he gave himself credit for. All he needed was the right motivation, and nothing compared to his desire to protect Miri.

<We got them running! Let's finish this.>

The kiss reminded her of all that she was fighting for. Not that she had ever forgotten, but it made it seem less abstract and ephemeral for a brief moment.

When it was over, and they began to head in the direction of the trapped slaves, Miri felt stronger. There was pain, and the sticky wet feeling of blood trickling down her back, but she could put it out of her mind and focus on the task at hand.

They passed the bodies of the slavers whose hearts she had stopped. Lying sprawled on the ground where they had once stood, they stared up at nothing, eyes wide open and mouths agape. Thankfully, she didn’t linger.

Upon reaching living slavers, Kyell leaped into action. Miri watched him as she opened fire on those he didn’t cut down. There was no hesitancy now, no reluctance. He dispatched his targets quickly and efficiently, eroding the enemy lines.

They had them on the backfoot, fleeing for their lives. The day was won, their mission completed. Not long after they reached the holding cells and began freeing the slaves, the last of Miri's strength gave out and she collapsed.

"We're not here to judge the people who did this. Just help the people like them get out. Focus on that."
"Yes Iris..." he replied back professionally to the knight. They couldn't let emotions get in the way of the mission at hand, all their energy needed to focus on getting all the slaves out of here. Moving on, they let the slaves help their counterparts and gain weapons for themselves. The more they freed, the easier it is going to be to get the others out.

Silas moved to the door and looked back to Iris who was getting ready to run through the door, after a brief nod he used his saber to cut down the lock before swinging it open. Within moments, Iris took out the guard quietly with very little noise. They were doing fine for now, but who knew how long this was going to last "I'm going to move forward and keep watch again, tell me if you have any trouble" he whispered with a brief nod. Iris and her crystal knew what to do on their part, he just needed to make sure no one was going to sneak up on them.

From a distance he could hear shouting and screams the more he moved away, whatever was going on certainly was building up to a storm of some kind. They needed to pick up the pace before they were stuck in something they couldn't get out of. Silas knelt behind a large crate and waited. However, it was only a matter of time till a patrol of two came jogging down the hallway.

Silas placed the saber back into his pocket and watched them come by, unknowing that they had just past an intruder. The padawan came up behind them as they slowly came to a halt next to the corner. For a few seconds, they saw Iris helping out the slaves and began raising their weapons. Before a word came out their heads suddenly collided with each other hard, forcing them to crumble to the ground while Silas stood above them.

"We need to hurry up, the tension is about to explode into something we shouldn't be present for"

Iris blinked as she watched one of the Chiss take off. Ignored her words. Ran to fight. Iris's lips thinned for a moment. The colors around them. Such rage bled the colors from around her. Staining them grey. The carnage that ensued shortly after only turned them that much darker. She spared a glance to Domxite, then to Silas in the distance. One thing at a time. She turned, nodding once to her fellow.

"No more quiet then. Blitz them, break open all the cases you find. Meet me back where we came from the moment you're done, okay?"

Then she was off. Sprinting towards the next container to cut down the guards. No more silence, not with the Chiss running around on a murderous rampage. She didn't approve, but she understood why. Worse, she couldn't deny it was helping.

Later, though. that would be addressed.

She sniffed, stared out, listened- that distinct noise, even distant, was unmistakable. A sharp hum pricked her ear. Only for a moment; the regularity of movement in the loading area returned, but by then Tallara was already on the move. She didn't waste a second. It was finally time.

The knight flitted across the rooftops, steps like the first drops signalling rain. Below -- two of them. Two guards down. The infiltrators seemed not fully in motion; a plan in progress, but not amateurish. One at a time.

She dove off the roof, drawing her sword mid-air, and swung downward on the woman with all the weight of the sky behind her.

The Droid, the Myth, the Legend
B1-173 would have arrived to the fray, joining the fight against the slavers as apart of the small Galactic Alliance fleet dispatched to the station, although irrelevant for the majority of the combat until this point, B1-173 was providing a supportive role in suppressing the slavers as the joint Jedi-GADF detachment began to quell the pirates and to secure the space station, B1-173 observed the corridors and noticed that he had to catch up, as fighting was still present in some proportion within the station, the Droid quickly rushed behind cover and began to assist in the engagement against the slavers. Many of his compatriots began to stare at B1-173 in perplexity and inquisitiveness, wanting to know either how this B1-series was still operational, along with why it was fighting for the Galactic Alliance, but nevertheless, the most important thing was dispatching this batch of pirates within this sector and station as a whole, and possibly help liberate some of the enslaved Chiss which were forced into bondages and whatnot. He ignored his surroundings for the time being, and began to focus heavily upon the slavers which were his current opponents and objective, deciding to push forward, B1-173 attacked, firing a series of bursts and spraying down any pirate scum within his wake, the Droid quickly shifted to and from cover to avoid being blasted at in retaliation to the defending pirates, at this point, he became pinned down by two pirate heavy gunners which were suppressing the corridor into the next section of the station, the pirates heavily fortified their positions and it was clear they weren't going to surrender the station or their treasures without a fight to the death, that is if they decide to surrender early, this gave B1-173 a new approach on the situation and decided to take a diplomatic route to the situation in order to defuse the conflict through means of discussion and negotiation for their unconditional surrender.

"Give up the fight you scallywags, your time is up and you all know that yourself, the forces of the Galactic Alliance Defence Force have you surrounded, and we have already dispatched the majority of your collaborators and comrades before reaching this point, this is why I ask you all to lay down your weapons peacefully to surrender so that you can live through this period of time and ensure that your futures will be fulfilled instead of ending subsequently to the barrel of my blaster rifle, or a lightsaber which would cut you down quickly, trust me, I know what being hit by those is like, both actually. And they aren't good. So give up the losing battle, for there is no pride or courage in continuing to fight."

Although attempting to negotiate with the pirates, they returned fire either way, disregarding what B1-173 monologue and argufied into his speech, nevertheless, B1-173 was rather aware of these scenarios as he has attempted to end fights through negotiating, although in some instances this has worked, it rarely has as many are determined to fight to the death for what they desire and what they seek to achieve, either for themselves or for a cause they fight for. As the pirate's blasters began to overheat and the exchange of blaster fire began to dire down, B1-173 crouched down behind the cover of a wall and slowly peaked around the corner, being assisted with his advanced integrated technologies to detect the enemy's location with precise accuracy, B1-173 would then unleash a volley of fire upon the pirate heavy gunners, subsequently severely injuring both of them and putting them out of action, during this, B1-173 quickly leapt to cover yet again, narrowly avoiding blaster bolts which almost struck him, this time, B1-173 would deploy a smoke thermal to mask his advance and the advance of various GA Troopers down the hallway against the pirates, playing it tactically instead of rushing down aimlessly only to be cut down, B1-173 would have gestured to his comrades to proceed crawling to avoid stray blaster shots which were being fired overhead, as the smoke cleared through, B1-173 quickly used his trusty vibrobayonet to slash and the ankles of two unsuspecting pirates, putting them down and firing his SE-14 sidearm at both of them to quickly end them, he would then fire at the other pirates which were now well aware of what was going on, but thankfully for him, the GA Troopers and the Jedi dealt with the remaining pirate forces within the vicinity.

"Close call, thank you for saving me there, they almost got me. Now, I think we should proceed, well of course we have to since it is what we are here for. Let's continue on the fight against these degenerate filth who take the pleasure and amusement in degenerating others for profit or whatever else, as a Droid, I have felt this neglect for many, many centuries now, and the thought of others and myself being treated poorly by supposedly superior individuals is something to scoff about, without further to do then, let's go! But I say we need to be cautious about this, anywhere could be a death trap for all of us."

As he finished speaking, he entered into the next room and one of the pirates decided to charge him quickly with what appeared to be a vibroblade of sorts, as they did so, B1-173 tried firing at them, but the gun failed as it was heated, quickly thinking, B1-173 quickly fixed the vibrobayonet onto the E-5 Blaster Rifle and stabbed the pirate in the throat, afterwards the pirate quickly slumped down onto the floor as B1-173 took cover as a barrage of blaster fire began to return upon his position, unfortunately, two Troopers got eliminated from the pirates firing upon them, taking this into consideration, B1-173 felt a duty to avenge their deaths, however all the sudden, his HUD began to ping as it identified an injury sustained to his body, it was mild and insignificant as the pirate with the vibroblade beforehand managed to slash B1-173's torso, which showed a visible cut engraved within his chest, nothing too worrying compared to the other injuries the Droid has sustained in the past. After cooling down his blaster, B1-173 quickly did a combat roll out of cover and began to fire upon 4 pirates who were quickly dispatched from his blaster, the E-5 was rather powerful but less accurate, but this instance showcased that the E-5 was still a powerful rifle so many centuries later. Quickly getting up from the roll, B1-173 took cover yet again, as now further GA forces flooded through the station as a whole and into this area of the station, the pirates were now being dealt with accordingly that is without our own fair share of losses in the process, however the pirates were conspicuously higher with their mounting casualty rate. After mustering the strength to continue, B1-173 began to push forward, charging against the pirates and firing rapidly whilst aiming down the sights of his E-5, his combat computing gave him the edge against the pirates, as he quickly jolted his aim against the pirates quickly and assisting his aim as he scored 2 headshots, the rest were torso shots. Yet again the area became secured, and B1-173 remained back this time, collecting what occurred and looking at the others who were joining the fight in order to temporarily rest and recover, especially from that cut he sustained, in which the Droid began to self-repair on the injury sustained, B1-173 was no other regular B1, and being an advanced Mark III model was clearly an advantage.

Aldric Laurent

"Let's not waste time, then," Aldric said before heading out. If they could get a lead on the suppliers themselves, they might be able to put an end to the operation entirely. Only one way to find out.

He snuck close enough to guards to get a shot, and in just a moment, they both toppled over unconscious. Valery split his attention, and the agent raised a brow, "Something in the Force?" Aldric knew better than to ignore senses, and truth be told, he had an uneasy gut feeling as well.

"Alright, help me pull these bodies along, so they're not just laying out in the street." He grabbed one and dragged him towards the wall. Then, that feeling of being watched. The hiss of a sword cutting through air. Aldric looked up at the last moment to see the perpetrator, "Val!" He warned, immediately firing a shot, too quickdrawn to be accurate. Instinctively he rolled away, even though the initial attack wasn't meant for him, and readied another shot.

"Mhmm... I'm not sure what it is yet, but I feel tense," Valery tried to explain before he proposed a plan to start dealing with their situation. "I'll grab the smaller guy," Valery said with a nod of approval to his plan before she walked over and began to crouch down to start pulling him along by the legs. But right before she began dragging him, a spike of danger struck her mind through the Force, and she felt her body tense up even more.

"Val!"

His voice got through to her, and while she considered drawing her lightsaber to defend herself, she deemed the risk of blocking an attack with so much momentum behind it far too risky and rolled off to the side instead to evade. Coming out of the roll, Valery got back up to her feet and a violet blade ignited almost instantly before she closed the distance for a fairly simplistic sweeping strike aimed at the woman's torso.

It wasn't meant to kill or cause harm, but to force her into a guard and give Aldric a chance to stun, or kill if necessary. But as she drew closer, Valery felt strange about her target, so when her blade inevitably clashed with Tallara's, she narrowed her eyes, "Who the hell are you?" she demanded. Perhaps she was one of these Imperials, but she had never seen them wield weapons like this before. The Imperial Knight, as far as she knew, all used lightsabers as well. Perhaps a mercenary?

A Jedi? The way she'd reacted had been appropriately fast, and the lightsaber didn't feel artificial. The situation had instantly become more dangerous. Tallara flattened her presence to the size of a pin, trying to keep the Jedi from reading her. The swing clashed hard against her sword, the phrik edge holding up against the lightsaber. Her weapon hummed to life as she activated the vibration cell. It wouldn't match the cutting power of a lightsaber, but it was enough to cut through flesh.

Their weapons locked, and for a moment she locked eyes with the Jedi. Her tail whipped out in preparation to strike, but she found herself forced to disengage as a blaster bolt came flying at her from behind. Tallara dodged, wove right to the warehouse's outer wall, then rolled out of reach before springing back up into a guard position.

"I have my orders. The Viceroy's work will not be disturbed.

"Stand down. Last chance."

After their weapons clashed, Tallara disengaged and was pressured to distance herself, even more, when Aldric opened fire with his pistol. Valery took the opportunity to step forward with a guarding stance of her own, allowing her to use her lightsaber to shield him as well. His ranged skills with the variety of guns he could use, paired up with her lightsaber dueling and Force abilities made them quite the team, and she was going to make the most out of it here.

Valery then locked eyes with Tallara, and though she stood against two opponents on her own, she wasn't going to back down. She wasn't sure whether to admire her dedication to following orders or to believe her to be foolish for fighting even with the current odds. Still, though, Valery wasn't going to underestimate her opponent.

"I don't want to hurt you, but we are going to stop this supply of weapons."

Her fiery eyes narrowed and a hand came up to send a surge of telekinetic power towards Tallara, which she had channeled in an attempt to send her flying back into the wall of the warehouse. Her skills weren't as good at taking people down without causing harm, so she hoped to give Aldric opportunities to stun the woman.
