SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Dartgun: The majority of the Needle Disruptor is a classic, pneumomatic dart handgun design. The Bando Gora Needle Disruptor though clearly uses some high end components with excellent machining of complicated parts that give it peak performance for a weapon of its type. The Dartgun is capable of firing a wide variety of darts.
  • Disruptor: What appears to be an underbarrel attachment is actually a separate disruptor weapon system largely comparable to the old GSI-21D, with unusually good range and ammunition capacity for a weapon of its type. Blasts from this weapon are frequently strong enough to disintegrate most personal armors and seriously endanger many light vehicles.
  • Variable Fire Modes: The Needle Disruptor has a selector switch which allows the same trigger to be used with either weapon. While each weapon can be fired separately as a standalone weapon, the main Bando Gora innovation is actually sequenced fire.
  • Sequenced Fire: In this mode, the disruptor fires first, with the dartgun firing a milli-second later. The intended effect appears to be for the disruptor to disintegrate any armor or barrier protecting the target before a dart can actually hit the target itself. In effect, this would allow the Bando Gora to drug up heavily armored opponents, whether they be mandalorians wearing traditional beskar'gam or any number of highly customized armors that have started to become popular among higher ranking Force-users.
STRENGTHS
  • Heavy Hitter (Disruptor): Like other disruptors, the Needle Disruptor packs a hefty punch, making it ideal for taking on heavily protected targets.
  • Modular Payload (Dartgun): The dartgun of the Needle Disruptor has a multi-bore chamber, allowing it to use a wide variety of darts, from simple wooden carvings made in the bush to high-tech Saberdarts. Combined with an almost endless variety of payloads, the Needle Disruptor is a very adaptable weapon against organic targets.
WEAKNESSES
  • Low Ammunition Capacity: Compared to most common handguns, especially typical blaster pistols, the Needle Disruptor needs frequent reloads.
  • Bulky Weapon: The Needle Disruptor t is a large and bulky handgun, which makes it not something that is easily concealed and harder to wield for small or weak users.
DESCRIPTION
When the Silver Jedi Concord retook Danuta from the grasps of the Bando Gora, they were able to capture the research facility and its workings almost entirely intact. Some of the research conducted there was working on a prototype combination dartgun and disruptor pistol. While the research was transmitted to the Concord and several allied companies for further study, the prototype pieces were put together by Hayde Torve and tested by some of those in the near vicinity, who consequently took them home as mementos of the battle.

The Needle Disruptor, as it has colloquially been called, is a combination of a high-end disruptor pistol and dartgun. The dartgun forms the main frame of the weapon itself, with a double-stack magazine containing 20 darts found in the weapon's grip. The disruptor components in turn have largely been incorporated afterwards, with that weapon's components largely located directly in front of the trigger guard. While the disruptor is a powerful weapon, the Bando Gora seemed to have thought it as more an afterthought - a means to allow them penetrate through thick armors in order to shoot them with darts loaded with their characteristic neurotoxins. While none of the neurotoxin darts had been produced when the facility was captured by the Concord, a large number of darts have been found to compatible with its multi-chamber bore:
Solid Flechette: A Mirrsteel flechette where the only damage it can inflict is kinetic. Probably the least powerful of ammunition, this is mainly used for practice purposes, but it also has the advantage in that the ammunition can be recovered and used almost indefinitely. If the dart is damaged, it usually doesn't much effort or tooling to fix it. Typically comparable to a small caliber slugthrower pistol in performance.

Electro-Dart: An electro-dart, used to temporary stun and paralyze targets, especially useful for self defense purposes. Other uses include nonlethal subduing in crowded areas or abducting personnel in covert operations.

Lecepanine: This dart is almost an exact copy of the Saberdart, but is loaded with Lecepanine, a strong chemical tranquilizer. Another favorite for users looking to capture their targets alive and unharmed.

FEX-EX: This dart is another exact copy of the Saberdart, but is loaded with the neurotoxin Fex-Ex, also known as Blue Harvest. Typically used for close-quarter assassinations or on the battlefield as a back-up weapon.

Banthazolate: This dart is almost an exact copy of the Saberdart, but is loaded with Banthazolate, a powerful hallucinogen. Commonly used by spies to create distractions or enable other means of disposing of targets (such as pushing the now confused target out of a window, etc).

Transponder: A transponder node dart, used to track targets in a close vicinity for several hours. This dart is significantly smaller than the other darts, making its attachment to the target to be less likely noticed.

Hollow: A hollow copy of the Saberdart, with the payload often created or collected by the end-user. Common payloads include industrial acids (to sabotage items like security cameras) or custom poisons, such as xenotoxins.

It is not likely that the Needle Disruptor will be copied in large numbers, largely due to the expense of its components and its usually illegal disruptor components. Still, those who possess them have a unique weapon that is frequently useful in more covert and dangerous situations.
