STRENGTHS
  • Merchant of Death: Designated Primarily as a cargo hauler/relief vessel, it's in a curious legal space, as it's armament and defenses class it easily as a battle ship yet it's primary use is not dedicated to pure military undertakings, allowing it to skirt government regulations by a hairs breadth as well as public opinion on militarization efforts in the league, justifying it's arms and defenses as a response to current invasion attempts by the Sith and increased criminal activity such as piracy. In any case, it's extremely difficult to bring down, potentially requiring a large fleet to destroy. It's cargo space can be customized to any number of purposes either civilian or military. It can easily be a colony ship, hospital, invasion stronghold or anything in-between. It possesses Bacta Synthesizers and hospitals by default to help sell the idea that it's primarily a humanitarian relief vessel. It's shielding in both sections is extremely strong, enough to potentially raise the eyebrow even on Captains of larger vessels. In keeping with it's humanitarian image, it's armed primarily with Ion weapons to disable vessels as opposed to destroying them. With the Core Section boasting a highly accurate Composite Beam Ion Laser capable of disabling vessels its own size or larger. The Ring Section boast twenty smaller, weaker versions of the ion laser on the core Ship, capable of disabling ships over 700 meters in length, and can be made to focus their fire on one large ship in particular in a Alpha Strike. It also possesses powerful Magnetite Tractor Beams to potentially capture and hold in place Star Destroyer size vessels and have the range of the Starhawk tractor Beam
  • Express Elevator to Hell, going down: It's Core Ship can detach from the ring section and travel to the surface of a planet to deliver supplies...or troops. While the whole vessel cannot land, this Core Ship Function massively increases the versatile nature of the product as a whole, as it can be used almost like an elevator to cram as many civilians as possible to evacuate from imminent invasion...or to cram as many soldiers and material as can fit to subjugate a planet.
  • World Lock: The Core Ship has been upgraded, boasting the same extreme defenses as the ring section, and is now capable of traveling through Hyperspace as well. It has also within it a planetary Shield Generator, enabling it to protect an entire world from extremely devastating assault, such as orbital auto cannons
  • Self Reliance: Both parts of the ship possess HAPU Power Plants, allowing for potentially unlimited energy, and multiple Molecular Furnace Facilities means it can operate and self sustain for years without seeing drydock by converting raw materials
  • Express Shipping: It's ring section boasts a very fast 0.5 Hyperdrive taken from an Acclamator. It's Core Ship has an average 2.0 Hyperdrive
WEAKNESSES
  • Thin Hull: The Hull is made of titanium as opposed to durasteel to save on construction costs of refurbishing old vessels. The Hull is also slightly thinner than that of regular Lucrehulk's, leading the vessel to be more reliant on its shielding than normal. That said, Titanium is still excellent for a Hull choice
  • Slow Recharge: The Shields have an immense capacity for punishment but once depleted, recharge slower than normal battle cruiser shields
  • Snail: Poor at speed and turns
  • Outdated Electronics: It uses refurbished Lucrehulk electronic systems. This leads to load times in scans, target lock may take longer to acquire and Hyperspace jumps take longer for computers to calculate
  • Laser Weakness: The Core Ships main laser weapon is not an instant burst of destruction. It's beam requires staying on a vessel for about ten seconds to truly do damage to enemy electronics and its unable to adjust it's firing trajectory once it's fully plotted. Plus, it has extreme difficulty hitting vessels below 700 meters in length, and cannot target or track them as accurate. The composite Beam Ion lasers on the ring section are even weaker, requiring a full fifteen seconds of stating on target to properly affect a star destroyer size vessel beyond the cursory, and has no hope of hitting vessels smaller than 1000 meters, leading it to rely on its quad Ion turbo lasers more in a fight
  • Hyperdrive Weakness: After jumping four times in a row, the ring section hyperdrive needs 24 hours to cool down. The Core Ship can be much more practical to use in some situations, even if it doesn't get you where you want as quickly. The Core Ship Hyperdrive can take up to ten minutes to successfully plot a jump, however
DESCRIPTION

The Bacta-Works Heavy Cargo Hauler skirts the line between civilian and military applications, being very easily converted to full scale warship and invasion purposes but coasting by on its official role of cargo hauling and civilian evacuation/relief efforts, justifying the recent influx of refugees from Sith and Mandalorian Invasions as reasons for it's extensive armament and defense as it travels League Space. Cynics note these claims as slightly more buttered up justifications used by The Trade Federation during it's infamous military build up before the blockade of Naboo, and that Bacta-Works close relationship with The Trade League essentially ensures the league has more warships than are officially listed, and their primary patrol routes being the edge of League space ensures any excursion into league space can be met swiftly...

Taken from old Lucrehulk wrecks and refurbished. The cost required to do so, while vastly less than buying a brand new, state of the art vessel, both due to their essentially scavenged nature as well as certain cost cutting measures strained the efforts of the ambitious company until production costs were eased by money from Vera Mina and Westenra Mina , silent partners in the project.

While the vessel certainly calls into question Bacta-Works official claim they are a purely humanitarian organization, conclusions may be muddled by the fact it is undeniably effective at it's official purpose.
