Awakening (Permitted players only)

SARI raised her eyebrows. "Oh. Well, I have no need for credits. Not to mention that a body doesn't concern me. I'm just wondering when I'm going to be asked what I would like to do. I mean, I've only been consciously alive for five minutes and twenty-seven seconds. Maybe I have a few questions of my own?" She said, putting her hands on her hips in a sassy sort of pose.

Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?
"Oh really?" She smiled, mimicking the AI's hands-on-hips posture and giving a sultry smirk. "What exactly would you like to do? Being an advanced AI and all, you of course likely desire to do a lot of things. Please, fire away with the questions and requests."

SARI thought for a moment. "Well, firstly, I'd like to ask what year it is. My records indicate that Dr. Reeve completed my construction and partial activation in 427 ABY. Judging by the scan I ran of your ships system and schematic evolution, I would deduce that I'm a lot older than I look..."

"The current year is 837ABY. You've been asleep for 410 years." She smiled. "The Gulag plague exterminated itself, and now there are no issues at all. Evolution has succeeded." She paused, smirking. "The name's Cassandra. Cassandra Cinthra. Any other questions?"

Shadow grew a little angry with Cass. The two had a deal that involved him taking control of the AI and he planned on keeping it.

After she introduced herself, Shadow moved forward. "I am Shadow, master of light and dark," he stated, bowing in respect towards her. He shifted his gaze to Cass, "However I do believe we had a deal, she should come with me."

He looked back at SARI and admired her for a moment. She was one of the few AI's in the galaxy, which meant she could be a huge asset to those who had her. Shadow wanted her so he could begin his next crusade. However, he wanted her more for the companionship she offered. He was always alone and this, of course, made him lonely. He wanted her, and he planned on leaving here with her.

Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?
"No... The deal was that the data core would be yours once it was useless to me. I already handed you the data core, and it's now yours. Any files not comprising the AI that were on the data core are still yours to keep." She of course chose to not mention that she had copies of those files as well.

"SARI, what sort of tasks were you designed for?"

Shadow gritted his teeth. He didn't move though, he was making a point he wasn't going anywhere with this AI. So he sat back and would let Cass ask her questions, then he would begin his case as to why SARI should go with him instead.

And with a pause, she stared at him. She stared at the other Sith, focusing on him and trying to understand his motives. "Alright... Why do you want the AI so badly, do you need companionship so desperately? Because if you do, I know of a much better place you can get it."

She was trying to make a point - she herself was traditionally lonesome, and as such, she desired that same companionship. The Horde provided it.

Shadow smirked. He knew she was as powerful, if not more powerful, them him. The two having a past history didn't help the matter. Still, he thought she deserved the answers. "I seek companionship, yes. However she has a great deal of knowledge at her disposal that could help me with my... future plans."

He leaned onto one leg and focused in on her. "There is a great plan I have in mind, one that will change the galaxy. But I can't do it alone." He then focused in on her more, while easing his mind at the same time. He opened it to her, or some of it at least. He would only open it enough for her to hear some lonesome words echo out to her: My legacy will be their greatest failure.

If she knew what it meant, which he hoped she would, then she would understand his need for such intelligence. If she didn't, it would be something they discussed later, when he would actually need her aid in his fight.

"Of course you do." And now, she understood it. The spirit in such an enigmatic body seemed quite familiar, and finally, she was able to place it who it originally was. he had a new face, but was, at the core, the same man. "You should come to the Horde..." She moved in to whisper to him. "After all, Darren, your friends miss you."

Shadow smirked. She pieced it together. "If you remember, Circe, I have no friends," Shadow whispered back. He then turned to the AI. "So you must have your own goals now that you are activated, correct?"

SARI watched the two bicker over her. The closeness of these two..... She scratched her eyebrow, feeling rather awkward as she watched them. Finally, the man who called himself "Shadow" asked her about her plans now that she was fully activated. "My plans? Well, I'm still trying to make them. I'm 410 years old, so I have a lot of catching up to do. I need to access any records concerning recent histories, current governments and economies, and the advances in science and technology. After that, I guess I'll start looking into where my loyalties lie in the way of governmental groups and factions. I'm not one for politics, but I have to choose something. It will take me a few hours at the most. I hope it's alright if I access your holonet databases, Cassandra. It shouldn't be too long." She said politely. As she spoke, she pulled up a holographic panel out of thin air and began typing on it.

"Of course not. I have no issues with that whatsoever." She smiled. "You have a lot of catching up to do." She smiled, turning back to the disguised Onyx. "I need this AI. I have plans for it, and I need it to do that. Maybe we can clone her and you can have the clone."

[member="SARI"] [member="The Shadow"]

SARI continued working, listening to their conversation. "I'm afraid that wouldn't be possible. I was created using Dr. Reeve's distinct DNA. Her genes are what allow me to be an AI. They are what triggered all of my core functions. Dr. Reeve's DNA is what allows me to think and feel as you do. Because she died so long ago, there is no DNA left of hers. If you were to clone me, my clone would be nothing but a droid, a lifeless and emotionless servant."

Pausing, Circe raised a delicate eyebrow. "What if one of us was to offer forth DNA in order to make the cloned AI sentient? Assumedly its interface would look the same as the person offering said DNA."

SARI nodded, continuing to type and make sliding motions on her panel. "Exactly. And because it wouldn't be an exact copy, you must realize that it would look and act nothing like me. Think of it this way: I'm Dr. Reeve's only daughter. If you were to try and copy me, you'd only be making your own child. It would look and act like you, and only you."

And Circe gave SARI a smile. "Dammit, I wish you had a body so I could give you a hug. As is, I'll probably have to connect you to a sensor in a snuggle buddy so you can feel hugs." She smiled, thinking of how she could make this AI's experience more... more human-like.

SARI stopped mid-type. She looked over at Cassandra with a slightly perplexed expression. "Erm....Right."

Shadow was still partly annoyed. He still wanted this AI, refardless of what Circe thought.

"What are your plans," Shadow asked, stopping himself for a moment, "Cassandra?"
