Awakening (Permitted players only)

C482 stood in its scrap metal stand, making its normal emotionless market banter with passersby on Tattooine. Its last metal run had been very promising, with its most expensive item being a data core predating the fall of the galaxy to the Gurlag Plague. It was amazing hoe it didn't even appear to be damaged. C482 had had a hassle getting the thing, but it was pleased that it had. The more credits, the more metal it could sell.

Shadow walked through the somewhat busy streets, or rather dust, that was Tatooine. The spaceport was decent sized, not as big as Mos Eisley though. Shadow was there buying spare parts and, like usual, drinking.

It was places like this that he didn't wear his sinister mask, instead letting his long blonde hair fall to his shoulders. Although he wasn't his younger self, he was still charismatic and one could see this in his nice long stride. His cybernetic eye was almost as bright as his real, yellow, eye. It did attract some attention, but not anything real negative. At least no one was pulling guns and lightsabers on him.

As he walked something did catch his eye, a data core of sorts. It was being sold by a droid at a small stand. He stopped and eyed it for a moment. He couldn't tell much about it, besides the fact that it was old. Old data was something he loved, as it could unlock more of his past and perhaps help him with his future.

He walked over to the droid, never breaking eye contact with the core, "How much for the core?" he asked smoothly, his voice cracking slightly as it usually did.

Smiling, Circe exampled through the scrap metal, looking for a worthwhile piece of technology in this droid vendor's heap of silicon. And there was a core - a large core, pre-Gulag, rather clearly intact and functional. Circe had the equipment to get it to work and access the data upon it - even if it was worthless - but hey, it would be perfectly fine. A nice part of her collection.

"How much for that core?"

C482 picked up the data core to allow its customers to get a better view of it. "As you can see, it is in perfect condition. Adding that to the fact that it is so ancient, I would say 400,000 credits." It was steep for metal standards, but this was an ancient data core. The price had to be steep for such a treasure.

The mandalorian wanted to spend his excess money on something that would spruce up his apartment. This desert planet seemed the place to be, Ragnar had his sniper rested on his back, and his Beskar Combat Knife rested in his hidden compartment of his mandalorian scout armor. While hopefully he would not need his weapons this planet had a reputation to have had the greatest scum and villainy in the galaxy. The mandalorian would certainty not risk his life going unarmed, he soon had his attention on an artifact dating the Gulag plague. The extremely, physically fit, assain made his way to place a bid on the item, something told him that he had to have it. Speaking to the droid he asked " How much for the core?".

Every day, every karking day Kallion was searching for something new, not like a scavenger though, he already had most of what he needed, but looking for anything to advance his gear to the next level, not the Tatooine was the place to do anything though "I've got dust everywhere, and I'm not even making a joke about areas I don't have." Kallion pounded his palm against his helmet, knocking the dust out of it. After walking for a bit he came across a stand with various objects, none were very practical, but they could all go towards something, after a bit of tinkering "Hey, er, droid, what's your stock... Other than metals I mean."

Shadow glanced over to Circe. She was an old friend, however he had his own agenda now and wouldn't let her take it. He looked at the droid now.

He couldn't do anything force related, since it was a droid after all. The only way to change the price was to threaten him, which wasn't something he really wanted to do. It would attract the wrong type of attention.

He smirked, time to bargain. "You really think it is worth that much?" Shadow asked smoothly. "For all we know it contains nothing but old log entries from some old man!" he chuckled. "Lower the price, I'd say 300,000 credits."

Shadow looked over at the new member of the party, who was asking about the stock. "Soon it will only be metal, after I get this core that is."

Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?
"I'll pay the four hundred thousand credits, right now." She paused, pulling out her datapad and preparing to make a transaction. It seemed a reasonable price for such an archaic piece of technology.

Shadow smirked. "I got four hundred fifty thousand ready," he instantly chimed in. He was going to win this battle, he planned on it.

C482 was not phased by the man's threats. "I am sorry sir, but the price is 400,000 credits." It turned to the two men who had just approached. "My merchandise is a large selection of slightly used and repaired metal parts and equipment. Feel free to browse and let me know when you've found something of interest."

As the woman began to transfer the necessary credits, the man who had threatened the droid before upped the price. So, it was turning into a bidding challenge? C482 allowed it to proceed.

Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?
"Five hundred thousand." She immediately went to work as fast as her fingers could, preparing the transaction and ready to send the information to the droid, in order to make the data core hers. "I have a feeling one of us is going to be stressed to the breaking point. Thankfully I don't intend for that person to be me." She smiled, looking at the scarecrow-like being. "You seem quite enigmatic. What will it take for you to stop the bidding sooner rather than later?"

"I'll browse then," Kallion turned to [member="The Shadow"], scowling at him under his helmet "I don't have that much credits anyway... Not on me... Or in one location." while the bickering continued he browsed the various metals that had been salvaged, lots of Durasteel plating, among other metals, which he would have use for "What would the price be for... he paused while staring at all the metal "Four of your Durasteel plates, along with some of that iron." Kallion stood, waiting for the droids response.

Obviously this core was a treasure with knowledge that could be used. The Zabrack made a desperate gambit " Ill pay for your core, plus ten thousand credits extra" . The max the assain could bid was four hundred ,thirty thousand credits. This mandalorian was not a good business man, and therefore could easily be beat in the bidding game if the others chose to do so. Hopefully, the others would not be able to realize this, the assain was not willing to spend almost all of his wealth away on one item. The assain waited for the droid to give him a solid answer, would Ragnar win? Or lose horribly?

"Ten hundred is not a real number. One point five million credits."

If C482 had a jaw, it would have dropped at this very moment. One point five MILLION credits?? Before it could say anything, one of the other customers asked it for the price of some of its other wares. It gathered up the materials the man had asked for and set it in a box for him. "The Durasteel is in moderate condition, but should work well in an engine core or as armor. The iron is in good condition. I'd suggest using it to strengthen your armor's fiber mesh, as it may make it a bit more flexible. Your total is 1,010 credits." while it was assisting this man, it had left the data core unsupervised amongst the bidders...

Shadow leaned over to her to whisper, "You will not win this." He turned back to the droid. "Two million, as well as these," Shadow reached into his cloak and pulled out two brightly colored crystals. They were saber crystals, some that he planned on selling. Though he knew the droid would sell them for more then their worth, making him some extra credits.
