STRENGTHS
  • Field Tested :: A sealed chamber allows the disruptor to fire even in hostile environments, such as underwater or in a vacuum.
  • Light Weight :: The interior frame was hollowed out to reduce carry-weight of the disruptor, but not unduly sacrificing its integrity. This kept it in the same weight class as most standard blasters.
  • Accuracy :: A built-in gyrostabilizer helps steady the marksman's aim; and the Heads-Up Display Link provides realtime sight alignment with the target and range information. These features -- and overhauled power system -- allows for greater accuracy and effectiveness at range than many pistols.
  • Power :: Redesign and incredibly precise manufacturing of the Focusing Array, Electromagnetic Accelerator, and Gas Injector have afforded a considerable boost in energy output in the AVZ-99P. You won't find this commitment to detail or craftsmanship in any mass produced pistol.
WEAKNESSES
  • Ammo Fueled :: The classic WESTAR-34 could get 20 shots off before it needed a reload, but then it wasn't a disruptor. The AVZ-99P gets 15 per power cell.
  • Littering :: It's illegal almost anywhere to just leave drained power cells laying around; but when you gotta fast eject and reload your disruptor to drop someone, you do what you gotta do.
  • Outlawed :: Disruptors are outlawed in many systems. The AVZ-99P is a custom make so they might not tell at a glance, but it's hard to miss targets vaporizing before your eyes.
  • Heat :: Dallorian Alloy will allow the pistol to function in a vacuum or in a raging volcano longer than many blasters that are marketed for use in space or on Mustafar, but even that alloy can only tolerate so much heat -- something that doesn't dissipate inside of a vacuum -- before it suffers from physical damage and stops working altogether.
  • Wear :: Power comes at the cost of requiring frequent maintenance. The owner that doesn't maintain their weapon will find themselves without when they need it most.
DESCRIPTION
The AVZ-99P -- your enemy ain't one -- is a disruptor whose components were built from the ground up or taken back to Alora's workbench for some extra tender loving care. As a result of her hard work, it's able to shoot targets at longer distance than described in the original WESTAR-63 design specs, and [more importantly] it can punch holes in things that even an ordinary disruptor would struggle to leave a mark on. Disintegration-resistance materials might weaken or succumb to the AVZ-99P considerably faster than under the barrage of most other weapons (especially pistols); and anyone wearing light armor will likely feel the hard thump of a shot (assuming the armor doesn't buckle and its wearer poof into smoke).

Why a disruptor? Because it is effective, of course. If Alora intends to shoot someone it isn't because she wants to give them a love tap -- 'Oh, you.' It's because she means to end their existence. Disruptors are good at that.

Alora's enemies are hereby put on notice to wear their armor. Not the Energy-Weak armor though -- you might as well be wearing cotton. Also, not the skimpy armor; if this thing starts eating your flesh it might not stop, so don't let it start.
