OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
SETTING INFORMATION
  • Structure Name: Lyrandar Complex
    • The Lyrandar Complex is the designation for the entire area that Aurora Industries has developed on Hakassi. At the same time, individual sections of the complex have their own designations, including the geo-synced orbital shipyard stations.
  • Classification: Manufacturing and Production Factories, Shipyards, Spaceport
  • Location: Hakassi
  • Affiliation: Aurora Industries
  • Accessibility:
    • While the facility isn't hidden or designed to be any sort of secret facility, that does not mean it is accessible to the public. Constructed in the eastern reaches of Hakassi's desert region on the northern continent, the Lyrandar Complex is fairly isolated from major population centers on the planet, but a conveyex train line is under construction to the nearest city, allowing ground-side employees easier access to recreation. However, only authorized Aurora Industries employees, specifically designated local and Covenant officials when necessary, and trusted allies are allowed access to the complex. Aurora security forces will detain all others who attempt to access the facility.
  • Description:
    • The primary and central portion of the complex is dedicated to the production of the various weapons and other starship systems that are needed for the ships being constructed in orbit. The facility appears like many other factories across the galaxy, low-slung, industrial buildings mixed with power plants and storage facilities. Three conveyex mag-lev trains connect the central portion of the facility to the other outlying parts of the complex for ease of transportation of materials and personnel.
POINTS OF INTEREST

  • Mine Name: Krona Mine
  • Material:
  • Size: Medium
  • Population: Moderately Staffed
    • The Krona Mine employs some 2,000 individuals, along with an equal number of mining droids, to extract and process ores and minerals from Hakassi for use by Aurora Industries.
  • Profit: Break-Even
    • The Krona Mine specifically operates to provide materials for the Lyrandar Complex and the orbiting shipyards, not for any sort of profit by selling the mined ores and minerals on the open market. Any excess ores, metals, and other materials are sent off to other Aurora Industries facilities that may require them.
  • Accessibility:
    • Access to the Krona Mine is restricted to authorized Aurora Industries employees, with Aurora security forces maintaining a perimeter around the mine with droids and speeder-mounted troops. The primary means of access to the mine is from the conveyex mag-lev train that connects the Krona Mine to the rest of the Lyrandar Complex, although a few smaller landing pads are scattered around the main site for authorized transports and freighters.
  • Description:
    • The Krona Mine would not look out of place from any mine operated by the various guilds and mining corporations in the galaxy, with industrial buildings, miner barracks, and mine shaft access points. Heavy machinery is near constant, along with repulsor sleds loaded down with processed ores and metals destined for the orbiting shipyards. A conveyex train travels to the west, connecting the facility to the central node of the Lyrandar Complex.

  • Spaceport Name: Esravash Spaceport
  • Classification: Standard Class
    • While much of the activity around the spaceport is concentrated on the central space elevator and Aurora Industries activities in the region, the facility would be the site that allied corporations or organizations would disembark and embark at if visiting the facility. To facilitate that, Aurora Industries constructed the facility to be large enough to be classified as a Standard Class spaceport, restricted though it may be.
  • Population: Sparsely Staffed
    • Because the facility is intended to generally only cater to Aurora Industries operations, it only employs roughly 200 workers throughout the spaceport complex, along with a matching number of maintenance droids. Another 150 employees are designated specifically to
  • Accessibility:
    • Of the different portions of the complex, the Esravash Spaceport is the most accessible part, and due to the massive space elevator heading into orbit, it is certainly not a secret facility. While ships must still be cleared by air traffic control and Aurora security forces, freighters and transports are able to come and go as freely as any other spaceport in the galaxy. However, while they can do so, as many of the operations of the complex are for Aurora Industries' own operations, it would not exactly be a normal destination for any freighter captain looking for cargo.
  • Traffic: Moderate
  • Description:
    • The central focus of the spaceport is the space elevator at its center that ships mined materials from the Krona Mines into space for the orbiting shipyards to utilize for their production needs, although several hangars and maintenance bays are scattered around the base of the elevator for standard spaceport operations. Additionally, the spaceport acts as the administrative center for the entire complex, with offices for the chief overseer and their staff located within the elevator's base. A conveyex line connects the spaceport to the central node of the complex to the south.

  • Shipyards Name: Bergan Array
    • Three Archadia-class Dockyards designated Bergan-1, Bergan-2, and Bergan-3 that are collectively labeled as the Bergan Array for the complex.
  • Classification: Planetary Shipyards
    • The three Archadia-class Dockyards are geo-synced in orbit above the Lyrandar Complex on Hakassi's surface, ensuring that the space elevator delivering materials from the surface to the stations is consistent.
  • Population: Moderately Staffed
    • Each Archadia-class Dockyard maintains a minimum crew of 4,000 engineers, technicians, scientists, and laborers. With three in orbit, the company employs roughly 12,000 individuals across the Bergan Array of stations.
  • Accessibility:
    • As they are geo-synced space stations not equipped with cloaking devices, the dockyards are easy enough to see. However, accessing the yards is another matter entirely. Aurora security maintains a strict entry policy, only allowing authorized personnel to even enter the space around the yards, let alone dock on them.
  • Description:
    • Three massive dockyards of concentric rings built off a central production spire, the Bergan Array is a near constant flow of activity as starships are constructed within the external bays. Positioned in the exact center of the array is the endpoint of the space elevator skyhook that allows for mined materials from the planet below to be swiftly moved to the dockyard in need of the materials at any given time, whether it be by short-range transports or tugs.
OPERATIONS INFORMATION
  • Production:
    • Archadia-class Dockyards are modular in nature, meaning they can produce anything from starfighters to capital ships, depending upon whatever orders are being processed and constructed through the facility at any given time.
  • Specialty:
    • Per the agreement with the Sith Covenant that allowed the complex to be established, the facility produces Merregon-class Transports for use by Covenant forces.
    • Outside of the agreement, Aurora Industries intends for the primary construction focus for the Bergan Array to be frigate-class and cruiser-class starships, although that can be subject to change.
  • Output:
    • Each Archadia-class Dockyard has forty-eight internal small craft production hangars, ensuring it can keep a steady stream of Merregon-class Transports available for the Covenant per their agreement. The twenty-four external construction bays, configured as they are mainly for frigates and cruisers, can be working on forty-eight vessels at once (two frames within each construction bay) to ensure a steady supply of ships is constantly leaving the yards for use by Aurora customers.
  • Market:
    • Per the agreement with the Sith Covenant, the Merregon-class Transports built within the dockyards are exclusively earmarked for use by Covenant forces.
    • Other starships constructed within these particular shipyards are free to be purchased and distributed across the galaxy, although due to the position of Hakassi in the southern Deep Core, most ships are likely destined for use by customers within the Core Worlds, Colonies, and Inner Rim.

SECURITY
Security Rating: High
  • While the Lyrandar Complex is not a military facility, it is heavily guarded by Aurora security forces augmented by droids and vehicles designed by the company or purchased from allied organizations. Security checkpoints and turrets, perimeter fencing and sensor nets, alarms and cameras, and other standard security arrangements ensure that the facility can both protect its employees and the facility at large from attacks.
  • Each Archadia-class Dockyard has roughly 1,500 Aurora Industries security personnel and droids assigned to guard them, due to the trade secrets and sensitive operations that occur on board these stations. In addition, each Archadia has the typical security features likes alarms, blast doors, sensors, and so on that would be expected aboard a non-military space station.
  • Additionally, as the facility is currently within Sith Covenant space, an assault on the Lyrandar Complex would likely draw Sith intervention by their own forces to deal with any interlopers.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION

As Aurora Industries, and its owner, were looking to expand their operations across the galaxy, an opportunity to more fully reestablish themselves within the Core presented itself. While the company maintained some facilities on worlds like Galantos, it had been a long time, since they were still Krayt Industries, that Aurora Industries had a large facility to provide products to the Deep Core and the Core Worlds, but that would change with an agreement struck with the Sith Covenant's emissary, Lysander von Ascania Lysander von Ascania . In exchange for two capital ships and the production of the Merregon-class transport for the Covenant, Aurora Industries was allowed to establish operations on the Deep Core world of Hakassi. The company immediately went to work.

Temporary pre-fabs were established on the eventual site of the facility, while three Archadia-class Dockyards were transported through hyperspace to their new home, being placed a geo-synchronous orbit above the growing complex on the surface. With days of the approval, plans were being finalized and financed for what would become the Lyrandar Complex, a facility that was, in the eyes of the company's executives, their anchor point for continued expansion into the Core Worlds once again.
