- Planet Name: Auberllon
- Demonym: Auberlloni
- Region: Outer Rim
- System Name: Auberllon System
- System Features: The Auberllon system contains three planets: Auberllon, Chagny, and Pulon. Auberllon is the only habitable world, the other two being gas giants. Auberllon has three moons: Lillon, Bellez, and Pearinne. These moons are rich in minerals, and have small mining outposts built on them.
- Coordinates: AB-17
- Major Imports: Nothing. Auberllon has had no contact with outsiders since the fall of the Galactic Empire.
- Major Exports: Bronzium, Aluminum, Diamonds, Gold, Lumber, Crops and Livestock.
- Gravity: Standard
- Climate: Temperate. The climate is average for an agrarian world, with extremes only found in the far north and south, naturally.
- Primary Terrain: Urban, Mountains, Grassland, Tundra.
Major Locations:
Antigneax: The center of urbanization, Antigneax is a densely-packed urban area. From the center, the Imperial Authority hides itself behind tall walls in a structure named the 'Capitol Wall'. The aristocracy and rich of Auberllon can be found here, as well as most of the Authorities might. Beyond the wall lies miles upon miles of slums. It is here that the dream of freedom still lives in the Auberlloni, and a resistance movement calling themselves 'The Phantoms of Freedom' make their home. Authority patrols in the slums are constantly raided by Phantoms and their sympathizers, and in return, the Authority keeps an iron grip on the city. It is not uncommon to witness mass executions of suspected Phantom sympathizers, and the hunt for their various cell headquarters is eternal.
Freyonne: South of Antigneax lies Freyonne, the agricultural center of Auberllon. This grassland area is mostly peaceful, though the farmers find themselves constantly being forced to 'donate' to either the Phantoms or the Authority. As such, the people of Freyonne don't much like either faction, and most want nothing to do with either, simply wishing to tend to their crops and their animals and be left well alone.
Epizon: Far north, the region of Epizon provides Auberllon with all of its lumber needs. This area is very sparsely populated, with the only beacon of civilization being the lumber camp in the center, where felled trees are processed to be shipped to Antigneax. The people here don't care about Phantom or Authority, and just send their trees south, not caring for much else.
Sarnnei: Sarnnei is essentially a large mountain range, teeming with minerals and resources. The Authority keeps an iron grip on this area, constantly sweeping for Phantom raids on their mines. As such, the sounds of gunfire are not uncommon. The only people who live here are miners, who work directly for the Authority.
POPULATION
- Native Species: N/A
- Immigrated Species: Humans
- Population: Heavily Populated
- Demographics: The vast majority of Auberlloni live in Antigneax, in the slums. These are workers, merchants, shop-keeps, laborers, the common folk. The other regions hold few people, but Freyonne is the next largest in population size.
- Primary Languages: Galactic Standard Basic
- Culture:
- Daily Life: The daily life of an Auberlloni is one of oppression and endless work. To maintain their fragile economy, the common folk are forced to work by the Authority for meager pay. Authority soldiers are known to simply take product from the civilian population, and punish them later for not meeting inventory quotas. They work from dawn to dusk, attempt to sleep with the sound of nighttime Authority raids around them, and repeat the process the next day. The only events that break up this monotony are Phantom raids. The freedom fighters are beloved by some, and hated by many for making the Authority more draconian than they already were.
- Society: Auberllon is divided into three distinct social classes: The aristocracy, the Authority and its underlings, and the common worker. The aristocracy is made up of the rich elite, who withhold from the worker masses. They make their residence behind the Capitol Wall, in mansions. The Authority is the working government of Auberllon, and its military force. They maintain a standing army of military police, soldiers, and secret police that enact the Governor's edicts and enforce their orders with extreme force. And finally, the workers, who live at the far bottom of the totem pole and receive next to nothing in return for their labor.
- Religion: The Authority mandates a religion with the old Emperor Palpatine as the central God, with the Authority as his avatars on the world, ensuring they have a right to do what they do. However, the Authorities actions have made this religion not very popular, and atheism is very common among the workers.
- Sports: The Authority allows official sports only in the Capitol Wall, sponsored by the aristocracy. These sports include anything from games with balls and teams to holochess.
- Arts: The Auberlloni aristocracy love art and drama, things they view as sophisticated. However, the opposite view is held by the working masses. They view such things as symbols of the aristocracy and the Authority, it is not uncommon to behold mass burning of art in the slums of Antigneax.
- Revolutionaries: In the past century or so, there has been a rise in popularity of a new form of government among the workers, one in which all are equal, and the worker is held as the highest standard of living. This idea is still niche, but as the Authority brutalize the civilian population in their search for the Phantoms of Freedom, more flock to the meetings behind closed doors, and listen to the preachers speak of the 'worker's paradise'.
- Government: Fascist Dictatorship. Auberllon is run by a governing body calling itself the Imperial Authority, which is headed by the planet's Governor, who rules with absolute authority.
- Affiliation: The Imperial Authority
- Wealth: Low. Many centuries ago, Auberllon was a world rich with resources and opportunity. However, 851 years of isolation has left it a world of poverty with only the most elite having anything of worth to their name.
- Stability: The Phantoms of Freedom have been a thorn in the side of Auberllon, but they have had little actual impact against the governing body as of yet. However, as the Authority becomes more and more draconian, the common folk become more and more radical. Auberllon is a ticking time bomb, and when it blows, the entire planet will burn.
- Freedom & Oppression: There is almost no freedom on Auberllon. The Authority maintains an iron grip over most people's lives, running every section of their day to the smallest detail, and keeping eyes on every citizen to ensure they are not a threat to the government. Checkpoints are common everywhere, and every citizen must maintain identification papers to not be detained for questioning, if they are not executed on the spot.
MILITARY & TECHNOLOGY
- Military: Auberllon is essentially one large militarized zone. The Authority acts under martial law, and holds the power to conscript any citizen into their army at a moment's notice. However, their lack of technology or unity would make a straight-up invasion not as difficult as other worlds of their nature. The real threat comes from the Phantoms of Freedom, experts in guerrilla warfare, and would plague any occupiers for years to come.
- Technology: Once, Auberllon was as advanced as the rest of the Galactic Empire. However, their isolation has left them deprived of any resource that cannot be found in their immediate system. Their blasters have long since run out of gas, so all fighting on Auberllon is done with slugthrowers or cold steel. Ships are rarely used, to conserve fuel for valuable off-world mining. Vehicles are tread or tire based, as that kind of fuel is made on the world itself.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Auberllon was first settled in 19 BBY, the year of the founding of the Galactic Empire. It did not take long to become a thriving Imperial colony, due to its rich resources and remote location, away from the troubles of the galaxy. The governor in charge of the planet ruled firmly, but not harshly. All went well, for many years. Until the Battle of Endor, and the death of the Emperor. Auberllon's governor panicked, fearing losing his power, and made a decision. That day, he declared martial law on Auberllon, and cut off all contact with the outside galaxy, lying to the citizenry, telling them the Emperor and the Empire still lived.
Outraged that they could not leave or contact their families, riots broke out across Antigneax, demanding the freedom to leave the world. Knowing he could never allow that, the Governor formed the Imperial Authority, and sent his new military to put down the rioters at any cost. Many died in the ensuing violence, with thousands injured. The Authority cemented itself as the new power on Auberllon, and built the Capitol Wall around its offices and barracks, fearing another outbreak of riots. The rich elite of Auberllon bribed their way behind the Wall as well, forming the aristocracy class. Over the next few centuries, things were relatively peaceful.
At least, until the first resistance movement came about. With little popular support, this group was limited in its abilities to affect the Authority. So they decided to send their message in one go. In a mass suicide attack, they assaulted the Capitol Wall, attempting to break their way inside. Casualties were high on both sides, but the resistance was completely wiped out.
This scared the current Governor, who decided she needed more popular support. She was the one to mandate the state religion worshipping the Emperor, naming him God. In this tale, the Emperor yet lived, having achieved immortality and enlightenment, becoming the ultimate power in the galaxy. The intent was to unite the people behind one central belief. It did not work. To this day, the temples to the Emperor are constantly vandalized, and few attend unless forced.
As time went on, and Auberllon stayed silent, resources began to run dry. First, it was the starships, with all but a handful destroyed and scrapped for the use of their metal. Then, it was the blasters. Their gas had run dry. Everyone on the world was forced to switch to slugthrowers. Finally, the signature stormtrooper armor. Up until this point, the Authority had been utilizing the suits for their army. However, they simply didn't have the resources to maintain them, and were forced to use regular uniforms without armor for their soldiers.
Within the past twenty years, a new resistance movement has formed: the Phantoms of Freedom. Unlike the former resistance, they operate in the shadows. Utilizing secrets, code, and disguises, they have remained hidden despite the Authorities best efforts. The only clues of their existence are their attacks upon Authority targets, the cries of their motto: 'The Phantoms yet live!', and their insignia, graffitied upon sites of their attacks, and by their sympathizers: a dagger intercrossed with a sickle.
The Authority has increased their draconian efforts to find the Phantoms and destroy them, to the detriment of their people. In the present day, this world is on the verge of breaking down completely. Resources are rare, the people are starving, and their government becomes more tyrannical by the day. Auberllon is a long set of dominoes, and when the first one is knocked over, the rest will fall, and the world will bleed.
