• Description: The ASDF is the professional standing army of the Atrisian Commonwealth. It is a highly stratocratic force, demanding compulsory service and maintaining rigorous standards of training. Due to universal bodily augmentation, its soldiers are physically and mentally superior to most standard infantry and are capable of operating in extreme environments. They are a professional, disciplined and technologically advanced military as well as citizenry. With the age of enlistment being eighteen and after four years of service reserve duty generally until elder years that are able to alter based on refinement to living conditions.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
The Atrisian Self-Defense Force was formally re-established immediately following the beginning og the Jishi Era. After catastrophic periods of population decimation at the hands of foreign powers. Prior to this the Commonwealth relied on smaller regional and planetary armies and private security. The constant attacks led the Emperor and Empress to enact the Compulsory Service Edict, transforming the Commonwealth into a society where military service became a universal and required part of citizenship.

The creation of the ASDF coincided with the development and mandatory integration of the Nanocellular Implant Package and all subsequent augmentations. The initial goal was purely survival: to create a standing army of soldiers physically strong enough to ensure that a small group of them could survive. Then standards as the development and universal training standards would nationally provide physical fitness to the people.

With service allowing higher level positions in the military and government being allowed, areas of study and commerce that take others offworld and outside of the Commonwealth having proven dangerous in the past and a hazard. The goal of having their people able to better protect themselves was a goal. Once they reached the age of enlistment and served their four years required service they would maintain active reserve duty. Being able to be called in the event of attack.

This proved useful when an attack came and the mobilization of the citizens of the planet could be done. With the army being brought in and sent towards Jar'kai the people were able to get the children and elderly into their shielded bunkers. Points of failure were less in their training and more in allies compromising the bunkers to run children and elderly through the streets endangering them and distracting the citizens who were classified then as military.

The standardization of the military also means that their equipment would be developed. With advanced implants throughout their bodies that were more then simple upgrades. This was genetic manipulation to make them closer to their ancient Atrisian Chi-Oni. They were also given the two things that mark citizens a makie personal droid. Able to box itself up and function as a companion model... and a kappa pet. The kappa bonding and being highly loyal to protect the soldiers in the field.

The recent attacks on Atrisia showed other aspects, the inclusion of the tackmaster being highly beneficial, the development of civilian clothing that was as protective as their standard combat armors and use of the stardust and healing clouds. It would allow them to function far better as newer technologies were developed such as the atrisian bio network. Using their genetic markers to differentiate between friend and foe with advanced biometrics.
