Southern Systems Business Bazaar

It was the largest headquarters for the Southern System Business Bazaar. Here twice a year, the 'verse held the largest business expo ever seen. From thousands of systems, businesses across the galaxy came here to sell their wares and showcase their newest technology.

While this was not the annual Expo, the Bazaar was running a smaller venue to showcase Arceneau Trade Companies products. Specifically, there were testing out new prototype textiles made by Browncoat Arms and Industrial.

Those who would test out the material would receive enough to create an item of their own. Along that vein, any options to purchase items from Browncoat, PharmaTech, BlasTech, Haven Shipyards, Aurodium Bank loans were all available today.

Item in question for testing: Photoreactive Spidersilk Elaxtex

+ Very resistant to Blasters and Vibroblades - Much like Shellspider Silk, it retains its ability to deflect blasters and vibroblades.
+ Stretchy and pliable - Using known memory technology already found in the galaxy and flex armor methods, the elaxtex and shell spider silk hybrid can stretch and expand and also revert to its original size. This is only for a limited time, as gross expansion and regular wear will require a replacement.
+ Camouflage - This weave contain photoreactive fibers to allow a material that bends light waves around the subject and removes visual, infrared (night vision), and thermal signatures.

- Kinetic damage: If worn alone, this material offers little protection against kinetic damage, broken bones, or contusions.
- Gross stretching: Consistent extreme gross stretching may wane the fabrics pliable abilities, making it redundant for use and requiring the purchase of a replacement.

OOC: Anyone may join. Also if you were looking to get a contract with any of my companies, feel free to use this also to contact Saffron if you would like one. :)

Julius wasn't exactly sure what he was doing on Tattooine... Last he truly remembered, he was drinking in a cantina on... Where was it again? Force he needed to stop chasing the Green Mynock, as spacers in the Outback were calling it when indulging in his favorite Absinthe Aing-Tii. Standing up, he brushed off his trousers and checked his boot to find his MP-1 still snug in the holster, as well as his fighting knife in the other. His lightsaber was still in the plastoid tube on his back in the small of it. And his coat he had just gotten was on the ground, apparently having been used as a blanket. he had woken up near what appeared to be a trade bazaar.

And oddly enough, it appeared to be an ATC one. A company he had fond dealings with on and off, if only as a customer. It was advertising new product testing and other services, so after raking his hair aside and vaguely grooming himself, he pulled a discreet body 'fresher spray from his coat and applied it liberally to himself and slipped it back, sauntering towards the entrance smelling faintly of leather and cognac, and looked about for anyone else, or where to go to learn more about this product precisely. Might as well see what there was to see since he was here in the first place!

There were many ATC vendors that would be able to be approached for any patron to discuss things with. For now, the main product that would be tested would be the Photoreflective fabric.

A display was set up to show the various patrons how it worked. Standing to the side was an ATC security enforcer droid with a cloak made out of the fabric. It would show how he was able to blend into his surroundings.

"This material is created on a base of our patented Spidersilk Elaxtex textile formula." The Toydarian by the name of Urg would detail.

"It can deflect blasters and vibroshivs much like Spidersilk.. but remain stretchy for a comfortable fit." he would add, his wings fluttering fast as he would continue to explain.

"The photoreflective material bends light waves around the individual, and will remove visual, infrared, nightvision, and thermal signatures."

Irajah. Hated. Tatooine.

Nothing good ever happened here. Nothing. Nada. Zilch.

So what was she doing here?

A trade show. Her new bosses had asked her to attend and see if PharmaTech had any new offerings for the hospital. After going over their current catalogue, the dark haired woman was skeptical of this being anything but a massive waste of her time. But, she was getting paid to be here, and it kept her traveling, which was just as well by her.

She walked through the bazaar, trying her best not to frown the whole time, not a typical expression for the Doctor.

Had she mentioned she hated Tatooine?

Unable to find the booth she was supposed to be going to just yet, her attention was caught by the huge, flashing sign, proclaiming "Product Testing" which seemed odd, but then, she wasn't all that business minded. Usually, by the time products made it in to her hands, they were already thoroughly vetted and tested. Curiosity piqued despite herself, she wandered over, absently tugging down on the sleeves of her tunic.

The idea of testing and helping on a new product was very hard to pass up in some ways and well the crystal coating and weave that they had designed but got stuck in development worked much the same way with the bodysuits just none of the benefits this seemed to promise. Th jedi master was standing there as she looked out and walked with some of her equipment in a small bag in case she needed to change into something more test like if there was a chance something could get ruined. Just a common thing to do and if it didn't then well it didn't and you were careful for nothing.. or someone saw you wearing an old shirt. She really saw no downside when there was a chance to get a contract with browncoat which would help Sasori's goal.

" what about fitting or sizes can it say be used as vehicle camouflage for say a swoop ?"
kami asked seriosly regreting her lack of helmet.... and underwear.
cleavage? seriosly? she was as flat as an ironing board.

"It seems everyone is leaning towards developing proprietary technologies and materials nowadays," Taeli said to Jaxson as they both observed the material on display from ATC. She and her right-hand man had come to examine the new material that ATC had developed while it was apparently heading into the final stages of testing. It was certainly an interesting material from she could see, definitely something that would work best for a stealth team or a special operations group.

"Arceneau's Toydarian spokesman is doing quite a good job of outlining the features and getting attention," Jaxson added, scowling as he had to wipe his glasses yet again. Just like Taeli, he wasn't the biggest fan of Tatooine or desert planets in general.

"Able to escape most scanner detection, that is something indeed," Taeli said as the Toydarian continued his call and explanation. "We should reach out to ATC for procuring some of the material, once testing is fully done of course. I can see a use or two for it."

LOCATION: SOUTHERN SYSTEMS BUSINESS BAZAAR, TATOOINE
EQUIPMENT: IN BIO
CURRENT MOOD: INTRIGUED

Tatooine had never been Ghorua's favorite place. He didn't like sand. It was rough, course, irritating, and it got everywhere. But he had come to the sandhole of a planet, oddly, for pleasure. He didn't take many vacations, but he had come upon a streak of good luck recently, as well as his share of terrifying experiences. The giant figured he deserved some R&R.

Ghorua the Shark plodded through the infinite rows of market stalls and stores, admiring the various goods they had. The 10'5'' Herglic found himself buying a fresh meiloorun fruit from a grizzly Aqualish farmer for a decent price, and took tiny bites from it's juicy flesh as he walked, all of the other buyers steering clear of the imposing figure.

Eventually, the large Hunter spotted a larger booth, with the ATC logo clearly displayed. The Shark had always had a soft spot for the Arceneau Trade Company, as his mentor had been sponsored by them. Who knew where Julian Valentine was now? He noticed a droid guard wearing something... different. It appeared to take on the colors of the surrounding dunes. Curiosity for the garment drew Ghorua in, like a fish on a hook.

The large individual towered over the others in the area as he listened to a Tooydarian rant about the qualities of this 'Photoreactive Spidersilk Elaxtex'. It looked useful, especially for one that usually had very little hope of staying out of sight. Of course, he had a few questions.

Ghorua spoke up over the din of the crowd, his booming voice startling a few of the beings in front of him. "You say this Elaxtex can deflect blaster bolts and shivs. How effective is this function? Does it wear out after continuous use?" The Herglic figured such a textile was too good to be true. There had to be some kind of catch. And if not? Well, then they had his credits. Having an outer layer of stealth gear over his battle armor would be more than beneficial.

Kami Meran said:
" what about fitting or sizes can it say be used as vehicle camouflage for say a swoop ?"

"Excellent question," Urg would say, gesturing with his finger. "The material is able to to be custom fitted for many armors as well as for vehicle coverings. " he would motion for a couple of workers to come in and show a length of the cloth.

"Who would like to test out the fabric? Please come see how well it works." there was a small set up to the side, where they would be allowed to wrap the fabric around them to show how well the photoreflective fibers worked.

"Miss, would you like to try?" would be asked to [member="Irajah Ven"].

Ghorua the Shark said:
"You say this Elaxtex can deflect blaster bolts and shivs. How effective is this function? Does it wear out after continuous use?

A new question and the Toydarian flew over to the Herglic.

"It is very effective." Urg would explain. "The only replacement you'll need for it is through gross stretching. Continuous stretching will require a replacement."

Emberlene's Daughter, The Jedi Generalist
Listening to what there was about it got the jedi master thinking and it could be a highly effective thing... though there had to be some natural wear and tear for it beyond stretching over time but those tests generally required waiting to see. THere was no tried and true method as she stood there ready to begin and they coud test it out.... THough the idea of testing it for blades and blasters wasn't exactly the best prospect but she was all for the test and a chance to get a contract was tempting before moving up to see the others that were there with them. A number of people had appeared to help which meant this testing could go fairly quickly if they were doing it correctly

Irajah had been standing near the front of the crowd, curious but not engaging as she listened to the sales pitch, the questions and answered being tossed back and forth at a rapid rate. Mostly, she was besmused by the whole thing, but then-

"What? Who? Me?"

"Go ahead little lady," a rough looking man said at her back, giving her a push forward.

Irajah shot him a look, but it seemed like that was enough to gather encouragement from a few other voices in the crowd. Her face coloured a touch red and she muttered something (likely rude) too low for anyone else to hear.

"Alright, alright," she said as she stepped forward. "What do I do? Just.... use it like a cloak? Is there a... I don't know, a button or something I need to press?"

[member="Saffron"]

Ghorua stepped back a bit as the Tooydarian buzzed up to his face, a slightly surprised expression coloring his features. "Well, if it's as great as you say it is, I might just have to try it."

He noticed [member="Irajah Ven"] being heckled to go forward, and gave her a bemused smile. She seemed hesitant. Ghorua, on the other hand, couldn't wait to get his hands on this miracle fabric. With a huff from his blowhole, he stepped forward, gently shoving a few onlookers out of the way. He reached the table, going to the opposite side of where the woman was.

It was difficult to see the fabric on the table, even though he knew it was there. The cloth seemed to perfectly match the contours of the table, and as Ghorua picked it up, to began to match the bright colors of the market, speckled with desert tan. The Bounty Hunter grinned, wrapping the material around one gigantic forearm. His deep black skin disappeared, replaced by what seemed to be nothing. The Shark moved his arm around, marveling at the sight.

He then looked to the Tooydarian, grinning. "I don't suppose you have more of this stuff. Enough to make me a cloak, perhaps?" He unwrapped his armored arm, and placed the Elaxtex back on the table.

" Do i take the dress off first or....? " Kami asked feeling like an idiot.
She wasn't relay Shy more just not good with crowds.
She felt the colour.. if she had colour in her face it would have drained.
the young Arkanian Mando felt like a real tit standing on the stage in a shimmersilk dress and combatboots.

Urg gave a small laugh, "No, there is no need to get out of your clothes." instead a few of the associates gave a length of cloth that they could use as a cloak or simply hold out in front of them. There was no need for any activation, it simply worked on its own. Were the patrons look at the length of mirrors to the right, they as well as those within the crowd would see that the portion of their bodies that remained covered simply.. disappeared.

"Here you may use this clip ma'dam," an ATC rep would offer one to [member="Irajah Ven"].

"Yes, one may have enough in this product testing to make a cloak if they desire." he told the Herglic, "As you can see, good sir, that it is a stretchy material, very pliable."

Kami gave a small sigh she'd rather be in her shorts than the dtess.
but she dawned the cloak feeling a bit silly but still complyed she had her eyes on a slug thrower and a net launcher she wanted,

Matsu was looking at the material and it was stretchy... almost baggy in some areas on her while she was standing there in it and without some of the bulky robes or the look she was very petite since her obscenely long hair was up tier up in a topknot and bun with a look on her face until she was moving around with some attention. "It is very nice, I don't suppose for some it will become a little more fitted?" She knew it could stretch to fit others but for ah smaller people it would need other sizes maybe. Or maybe it would be one size fits all and tighten up so it squeezed the body until she was moving around and seeing herself disappear in the mirror at places.

Irajah wasn't a technological neophyte. But the type of technology she was more familiar with looked *nothing* like this. She turned around a couple of times after clipping the material at the base of her neck, genuinely impressed by what it could do.

She didn't know what use *she* would have for such a thing, but still, it was really impressive.

Pulling it up in front of her face, she asked despite being able to see the answer for herself as soon as the question came out-

"Can you see through it from the inside? Or is it opaque? Ah. Well then."

[member="Saffron"]

"Well, then, I would like to do that. Even if I can't see the product, I can definitely see the uses for an invisibility cloak." Of course, Ghorua knew it wouldn't actually make one invisible. Difficult to see would be good enough for him. The Shark could already see himself on the hunt, nearly impossible to see with the naked eye, and many other eyes, for that matter.

Ghorua grinned widely as a section of fabric was given to him, large enough to cover the behemoth. The Shark laughed out loud, grabbing the elaxtex up in his arms. "I suppose I'll fashion this into something usable on my own time. Thank you very much." The genetically-modified Herglic decided he liked product testing.
