NPC Review Ashmarks - Second Cohort of the Myrmidons

OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION

GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Unit Name: Ashmarks – Second Cohort of the Myrmidons
  • Affiliation: The Diarchy, Diarch Reign
  • Classification: Heavy Infantry / Urban Assault
  • Description:
The Ashmarks are the sledgehammer of the Myrmidons—the second cohort forged for high-pressure urban combat, tunnel warfare, and breaching operations. Clad in reinforced phrik-alloy armor with standard golden-orange capes marked by scorched edges and red-tinted visors, they are built for close-range dominance. The Ashmarks are aggressive, coordinated, and brutal in their precision. Wherever they are deployed, the enemy's walls fall. Their unofficial motto is whispered in Legion barracks across the Diarchy: "We don't knock. We collapse the door."

COMBAT INFORMATION:
  • Unit Size: Small
  • Unit Availability: Unique
  • Unit Experience: Elite
  • Equipment:
    Phrik-alloy Myrmidon Assault Armor
Heavy blaster rifles, breacher carbines, scatterblasters
Thermal charges, concussion grenades, detonite paste
Deployable shields, breaching gear, wall cutters, riot suppression tools
  • Combat Function:
The Ashmarks function as the Myrmidons' primary urban combat specialists, deployed to lead siege entry, fortification breaches, and suppressive corridor fighting. They work in tight formations, clear hostile structures, and create new entry points where none existed. They excel at rapid room domination, demolitions coordination, and area denial. Ashmarks are often paired with support from Blackhewn or Flamewalkers for cross-cohort synergy in prolonged sieges.
  • Force Abilities (Force User Units Only): N/A

Strengths:
  • Siege Expertise: Highly trained in demolitions, breaching, and urban assault tactics.
  • Unshakable Formation: Their ability to move as a coordinated wall under fire is second to none.

Weaknesses:
  • Close-Quarters Limitation: Less effective in wide-open terrain or ranged warfare without cross-cohort support.
  • High-Collateral Potential: Their overwhelming tactics can risk damage to critical infrastructure in precision environments.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Formed in the aftermath of the Battle of Muunilinst, the Ashmarks were assembled to fill a growing need within the Myrmidons: elite troops capable of breaching any defense, clearing any structure, and holding choke points until the enemy drowned in its own rubble. Their training is ruthless, loud, and exacting. They are often the first through the breach—and sometimes the last standing when the smoke clears.

Wielding suppressive fire, breacher hammers, detonite charges, and blunt force willpower, the Ashmarks earned their name from the cities they turned to cinders. During the siege of Entralla's west dome, the Ashmarks cleared twelve defensive checkpoints in under an hour. Their path was unrelenting—and flame-marked.

They are led by Centurion Sera Vak, a towering Togruta woman nicknamed "Stonevoice," known for issuing calm, brief orders even mid-breach.
