DESCRIPTION

Prior to the introduction of Rothana into the Confederacy of Independent Systems, it's famed company: Rothana Heavy Engineering, began to influence the later designs produced by Druckenwell Shipyards. Together, the two corporations collaborated on a new vessel that would fill one of the major gaps in the Confederate Navy's composition. Up until this point, there was not a capital ship that was specifically geared towards the landing of troops upon the surfaces of planets; and only recently had Rothana's Acclamator-class Assault Ships become available to the Confederacy. As such, in order to alleviate dependency upon an archaic model of ship, both Rothana Heavy Engineering and Druckenwell Shipyards put their teams to work, resulting in the Argente-class Assault Cruiser.

Named after the Magistrate who brought the Corporate Alliance into the Separatist fold, the Argente-class Assault Cruiser benefits from what has become the standard method of naval construction at Druckenwell Shipyards. As a whole, its hull plating and frame are composed of a durable alloy formed from the combination of Turadium, Durasteel, and Quadranium. This results in the vessel's ability to withstand an impressive sum of punishment in the event of a shield droppage. In terms of armament, the Argente-class revolves around the defense of its precious cargo from space to the ground; and as such boasts several defensive batteries to assist in this task. Its hangar is devoid of any starfighters, and through this intentional selection it is able to carry additional dropships and gunships to the ground.

All in all, the Argente-class is poised to become a vital component of the Confederacy's space-to-ground ventures from this point forward.
