ADVANCED SYSTEMS
  • This ship has a massive drill
  • The ship can detach the drill
  • Both parts of the ship can function separately
  • Without the drill attached, the ship can travel in either direction
STRENGTHS
  • Hangar independence: Due to the drill function, the Argalothian-class transport can deploy troops directly inside a ship or construct without the need to find a hangar bay.
  • Powerful drill: The drill is very powerful and can drill through strong armour plates.
  • Flexibility: Capable of detaching the drill from the ship, the crew can decide if they should deploy directly as they pierce the targeted ship's outer armour or if they should continue deeper into the ship.
  • Internal damage: Whether detached or not, the drill can cause massive damage to the interior of a ship
WEAKNESSES
  • But what about us?: Once a hole is drilled into a ship, it will undoubtedly weaken the structural integrity of said ship. This can be horrible news for the persons that the Argalothian-class transport carries.
  • Unarmed: Bar the drill, this ship lacks offensive capabilities to defend itself with.
  • Maneuverability: This transport ship is designed to fly in relatively straight lines or wide arcs., making it a relatively easy target. If the drill is detached from the transport, it will go in a straight line until redirected by outside forces, destroyed or turned off or slowed down by remote command.
  • Poor ergonomics: Outfitted with a massive drill and carrying heavy armour plates by its core parts, the room it has to actually transport persons is limited. The persons inside will likely be crammed together compactly. The sound isolation from the drill is poor which can make it hard for those inside to communicate with each other and outsiders when the drill is drilling.
DESCRIPTION
A team of ship designers and their tagalong Mathieu Brion Mathieu Brion created the first prototype of the Argalothian-class Transport years after the battle from which the inspiration for the ship was found. The beast, Argaloth had singlehandedly downed a carrier as he rampaged through the vessel. The destruction and chaos caused by the Draelvasier creature was something which Mathieu wanted to be able to replicate. While few things could compare to the raging behemoth that the Argalothian-class Transport was based on, the vessel did its task well.

The combination of the internal destruction to a targeted ship along with a transport function had been hotly debated within the team that designed the ship. For deploying in a ship where a hole had been made was, undoubtedly a risk filled endeavour. Still, the transport itself could most likely work as a plug and the added flexibility of deployment offered a skilled commander a valuable tool.

Over time, the Argalothian-class transports lived up to numerous of its inventors' expectations. It did indeed prove to be a deadly force to be reckoned with. But it also earned infamy among its users as it could, at times, kill the people it carried. This could happen in a number of ways, most commonly by weakening the structural integrity enough to suck the oxygen out of the chamber that the transportees deployed in. Ultimately, the production of the Argalothian-transport remained limited due to a lacklustre demand despite the tactical advantages that it offered.
