OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION

SETTING INFORMATION
  • Landmark Name: Archimedes Library of Intergalactic Knowledge
  • Classification: Library, information vault
  • Location: Chaleydonia, Christophsis
  • Affiliation: Hex Incorporated
  • Size: Massive
  • Population: Varies
  • Demographics: Varies
  • Accessibility: Built in the capital of Christophsis, the Archimedes Library is easily accessible and open to anyone in the galaxy with the ability to reach the planet. However, restricted information and knowledge is tightly guarded with heavy security and multiple defenses.
  • Description: An enormous building rising above multiple other skyscrapers, Archimedes Library has a distinct blend of Denon and Christophsis architecture with a number of unique design elements to help it stand out among other buildings, but still fit in the overall architecture unique to Christophsis with its elegant crystal buildings.

POINTS OF INTEREST
  • Lobby: The grand lobby is an open space with a series of turbolifts along the walls, allowing easy and convenient access to the multiple levels of the Library. A reception desk and permanent security detail stands by to help visitors with any grievances and advice. Terminals also can be found to help visitors to find exactly what they are looking for if they are in a hurry.
  • Eureka Café: Found in the level below the main library area, Eureka Café is a hub for discussion and long study sessions, with a wide array non-alcoholic food and drinks that can be purchased for a very good price.
  • Main Library: A series of levels and floors filled with terminals, tables and conveniently located bathrooms. Taking up the majority of the space is a massive series of secured servers that store anything and everything the company can find in the galaxy, no matter how insignificant. The servers also allow for connection with personal devices if one wishes to copy the materials or upload information, though they are safely guarded with an extensive array of EMP and cyber defences to prevent tampering.
  • Upper Levels: The uppermost levels are entirely restricted with independent servers housing a variety of sensitive information and knowledge taken from the likes of Sith, Jedi, and other scriptures deemed as dangerous for civilian usage. The turbolifts are restricted from access and the entire section is secured with defences, guards, blast doors and scanners. Access is only allowed for those with permission and ID cards authorized for entry, though permission can be sought through contact with Hex Incorporated directly or through the receptionist.
  • Basement: Housed in the basement of the building is a powerful reactor with several backup generators to keep the building running through any disaster. It also features automated fire suppression systems that span the entirety of the tower.
  • Cloud: A powerful transmitter is housed in the building to store all information on numerous data vaults located in astronomical objects all around the Outer Rim.

    HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Archimedes Library started as a project funded by Hex Incorporated and built by its subsidiary, AgriCorp, in the capital of Christophsis as part of a massive project to expand and establish a more permanent presence in the Outer Rim. The goal of the tower is to provide easy access to any and all information and knowledge in the galaxy, and to preserve all of that knowledge for centuries to come in a format that can’t rot or be destroyed.

Knowledge is gained in a variety of ways, including voluntary donations, involuntary donations, involuntary acquisition, expeditions and physical copying. Whether it is a recipe, history, or instructions on how to design and repair starships, all can be found in the Archimedes Library of Intergalactic Knowledge with the few taps of a button and a delicious meal or drink on the side.

Howdy, I'll be looking this over today.

My only question would be about the population. You've listed a moderate population but without a demographic breakdown. Is this a population that lives in the building or representative of the ebb and flow of visitors? If it is visitors and not residents perhaps listing 'Varies' for both would work well.
