Apparently, Blind Chicks Are My Specialty (Aviner/DragonsFlame)

"Well, this karking sucks"

Josh stood on a tall hill on Naboo, overlooking the remains of what was once his childhood home. He gave a heavy sigh. He had only been here once before, with Aleidis Ijet. They had visited it shortly after Josh's amnesia had ceased, and he had returned home for the first time. It was rickity, old, and rotted. But it was still home. And now, it played victim to the willies of scavengers, taking what they could.

Luckily, any items of sentimental value had been taken by DragonsFlame during his visit with the Ghostling. He knew this was going to come eventually. But DAMN was it a shame that eventually, the cookie had to crumble.

He gave a sigh, hanging his head in grievance for a moment. But, alas. A Jedi shouldn't hold such heavy attachments to a place. I mean, it's not ILLEGAL like it used to be, but carp sakes, it was still preached to holy moley Shinju's fatty.

He took a breath and made his way back to the city. Maybe a drink would help.

Naboo was one of the nicer planets to visit. So tranquil and yet serine in how it mixed with nature and large cities. Almost like something from a fairy tale. Salina had set a little hut for herself, given the area in the market place where she'd set up had plenty of space for it. A small tent with nothing more than a table and two chairs for both her and whatever customer would arrive to sit in. A small sign read "Curious of the future? One credit and it will be satisfied." Inside Salina patiently sat and waited while her living amphistaff, Xira, sitting on the table all curled up in a more serpent form, while feeding her small pieces of meat from a pouch. She kept glancing up to see the auras of those who passed of peeked in of interest in her tent, she nodding to them if they wished to enter. So far there was only two who'd stopped for readings, a young girl curious about her surprise for her birthday tomorrow and an older man wondering if his son was alive while fighting for the republic. Both ended with happy faces.

@Joshua DragonsFlame

Ah, fortune telling. How the sly fed off the overcurious for a bit of coin. Josh saw the sign and the one within, and his eyes met hers for a moment. He shot her a smirk and, a slight wink in recognition as he passed.

He tried to remember... Ah, he knew where he'd seen her now. She was the fortune teller with the snake on Coruscant. Josh, of course didn't have time for pleasantries last time. He had to do his job.

Today though, was an off day. And he was curious as to what this crazy woman could do... And with that, he decided to double take his passing of the hutt and instead walk in.

When he entered Xira looked a hissed before Salina ran her hand down the serpents back to calm it, which it did. As he approached she looked up, seeing the aura of the force about him and yet recognizing it. "Ah." she said as he came closer. "The Jedi Master from Courascant. You chased away a potential customer that day, you know. I can only assume you are hear to make up for that?' She smiled at her little joke before saying "But that would be rude of me. I know you're merely curious to see if my sights are legitimate."

@Joshua DragonsFlame

He smiled, not at all intimidated by the snake. Actually, he looked it in the eyes for a moment as it hissed at him, not phased whatsoever. A snake was the least of his fears, he'd seen worse. He'd seen Rancors mutated and grown to be more powerful then an average being could ever imagine. He'd seen war unlike many, he'd seen people die around him as he had fought for his life. He'd seen his own parents and brother die in an explosion as the at the time 5 year old could only watch and slowly slip into a coma, knowing that he couldn't do a damned thing about it. He'd seen mutated magnus monsters, that could possess even the greatest of Force users, and force them to use the dark powers hidden within to destroy all you care about. Being a victim of that was proven in the armor that lay under his robes, the stuff of legends, the Magnus Armor it was dubbed. He'd seen undead hordes, he'd seen naked witches in a swamp, he'd seen plants in skimpy clothing. He'd looked a dangerous reincarnated Sith Master in the eyes and had a beer with her. A snake was the least of his worries.

Looking back at her, he didn't miss a heartbeat as he spoke.

"Potential customer?" he asked. "Nah, I chased off a dangerous Sith, who was on a planet that she had terrorized in the past, and had a likelihood to cause trouble in again. Besides.... You don't want to be involved with her affairs, which by what I've seen and heard, she'll pull you in" he said. "Trust me... My best friend was married to her. She was a bigamist, she ruined his life, caused his faction to turn against him, and relatively karked him over, all while cheating in another marriage" he said with a slight laugh. "A simple fortune telling would probably end up turning into a few future visits, I can promise you that"

"But enough about that.." he said, sliding smoothly into the chair and slipping a credit from his pouch. Sliding it across the table to the fortune teller, he gave her a handsome smile.

"Let's see if you're legitimate" he said.

As he'd spoken about all that he'd experienced with Circe, Salina nodded before saying "I know. I can see it. You've suffered a lot in your past, oh great Jedi Master. Loss of family is a pain that cannot be mended easily. Yet in your time you've experienced so much, so many adventures that have broadened your experience. So many you've befriended, so many you've taken under your wing. So many you've fought. And now you come to ask a simple blind woman about your future." she smiled and finished with "Soon you'll have nothing left in the galaxy to surprise you."

She whispered to Xira before the serpent slithered up her sleeve. She reached out and took the credit, slipping it in her pocket, then asked an odd question. "Let me feel your face." She held her hands out and waited until they made contact with his. Her hands ran across every feature, from his hair to his facial hair, his nose, his lips. All the while her eyes were closed. When she stopped she held her hands out on the table, saying "Oh yes. So many scars you carry from your journeys. Yet now you wonder about more you may have. Take my hands."

Once he did her eyes remained close as she took a deep breath and said "Your path is already laid out before you. One by one you will see all there is to see before the final days will come for you. But that road you will share with another. Blood accompanied by blood." She opened her eyes and almost seemed to look at him. "You know of who I speak. One who took the dark road while you chose the light."

@Joshua DragonsFlame

He listened to her speak. He wondered if she had simply done her work since Coruscant... Or if she was legitimate. Josh was no fool, he didn't crack to facades so easily.

A smirk crossed his face as she spoke, and he took in her words without one of his own. Words flowed from the woman's tongue like a whirlwind, each one bringing back momentarily a memory.

And then she asked to feel his face. He tilted his head a moment, his shining brown eyes staring into the ones she didn't use. But then he nodded, a silent consent that signaled he allowed it. He let her fingers caress his features, and he closed his eyes, feeling her skin gently run across the blonde sleeks of his hair, her fingers tickled his facial hair but he didn't twitch. In normal circumstance, a man might sneeze at this sort of touch. But self control was a Jedi talent... One that Josh had learned well. One that the Master had spent years honing, and one of the reasons that in many situations, he had smiled and done what was needed of a Jedi, instead of telling somebody to kark off, or headbutting them, though in SOME cases he might headbutt if he smiled first... Being the quirky, witty sort he was.

Then she spoke. His eyes opened slowly as he watched her, her body language being able to tell if she lied or not... He read every expression, every movement of her body and facial features. She didn't seem to be lying, or if she was, she hid it well.

And when she asked for their hands to be joined, he obliged, curious as he slowly slid his hands, his fingers joining with hers. He took a breath, taking in every word. She spoke of another... And then she opened her eyes, and they met at that instant. A smile crossed his face, as he knew exactly who she was speaking of...

"Saoirse" he said quietly. "Kind of funny, really" he remarked. "She chose to embrace the dark... Yet in the end, she became the light in my life" he said quietly.

Salina nodded before closing her eyes again and saying "But that will come to pass later. For now I see something else....I see a conflict coming. Flying lizards approach. Ships filled with dead things and suffering things." She opened her eyes again and took her hands way from his. "Something is coming." she said nervously. "And you will be part of it." She stood while saying "We should go. I believe whatever is coming will be bad for both of us." She made a slight whistle sound and the serpent slithered out of her sleeve, extending out and becoming stiff like a stick. She used it as a walking stick as she tried to walk out of the hut, offering her arm if the Jedi Master could help escort her.

@Joshua DragonsFlame

He nodded slowly and stood to his feet, looping his arm through hers as if taking a date to a festival. Ah, if Sao saw this, it'd be a hoot. Of course, someone might also comment that he was a poor tart having to help his mother move across the land. But it was a better way to help guide and escort a blind woman then anything else, and so he chose common sense and courtesy over pride.

"Well, if something's coming, obviously I'll be a part of it" he cracked wise with a grin as he escorted her out of the hutt. "Even in Omega space, I'm a multi opportunity offender. No innocents are going to be harmed just because I serve the Republic. And that's the beauty of my position, I can get away with that" he cracked, a witty smile crossing his face.

"So, where to miss? I mean, I'm pretty used to escorting the blind places, but they usually need to tell me where they want to go first"

"I...I don't know." she said, almost sounding embarrassed to say. "When it comes to see the future I can see others more clearly. But I can see my own future, even if it's in someone elses." She shook her head and muttered to herself "I don't know where it'll happen but I think...."

Before she could finish an alarm rang out in the small city. People stopped and wondered what it was for or knew it was bad and ran for home. Suddenly from above three giant ships, Trandoshan, came down and started firing. As one fired at any defenses the city had the other two landed and emptied there crew of trandoshian warrior that came out and started attacking more guards they found. These were pirates, and bold ones at that, to attack a city in this way. Salina didn't know who or what yet, all she knew was that what she'd seen had arrived.

(OCC: Pirates was the best I could think of ^^;)

"Oh boy, giant lizards. Crikey, that's JUST what I needed" he cracked with a sigh.

He looked at the seeress and cracked his neck.

"Alright miss, first order of business? I'm getting you to safety. Then you can pat yourself on the back for a job well done because I'm doing exactly what you predicted.

He gave a cheeky grin.

"I'm getting myself some lizard stu"

Salina nodded before letting him lead her towards safety. Not that they'd gotten very far as they were soon intercepted by a group of 5 trandoshan pirates, all very large and heavily armed. Three of them engaged @Joshua DragonsFlame while keeping him busy so that the other two could go after Salina. They grabbed her, one licking his chops and saying "Scrawny one this is." Confused she asked "Who are you?" "Look." the other pirate pointed out. "This one's got bad eyes. No good for sport." They both pushed her away, almost knocking her over. Instead of hiding Salina stood while their backs were to her. Picking up Xira she said "I've seen your futures, gentlemen. And I'm afraid to say..."

Using Xira, the tail end becoming sharp like a spear, she stabbed one of the pirates making the other turn to see what she'd done. He roared and advanced towards her, making Salina swing her amphistaff around to smack him in the face before poking it into his stomach. She swung it again, only this time it became lose as she did, acting more like a whip now. She whipped the one end around his leg and tripped him to the ground on his back. Holding Xria high in the air it became a spear again, which she used to stab the pirate right in the stomach.

"...is short."

As Josh tried to fight off the pirates, desperate to get to the seer before it was too late. His expression changed to a smile as she easily dispatched her foes. And her smack talk game was awesome too.

"I'm sure your boyfriend or husband or something would be proud!" He cracked as his lightsaber zipped through the air, slamming into the weapon of one of his foes hard. The weapon itself was too light to serve as a means to break their guard, but with Josh's strength, he could smack you with a twig and your guard would go down.

"Always keep your hands up!" He snarked toward his foe, before taking advantage of his guard going down to slash up top, looping the lizard's head off with ease.

"See?" He snarked toward the other two. "I told him, didn't I?" He asked , before ducking a slash from one of the rather pissed off pirates. On rebound, Josh brought his boot upward to strike his unfortunate sparring partner in the jaw. The recoil from a kick in the head gave Josh an opening.

"High five!" He offered the dazed lizard, a hand up. "No?" He asked. "Olay, how bout down low?"

He slashed through the side of his opponent before he could clear the cobwebs from his head.

"Ah, too slow" he said as his opponent fell. "Try again next time... Maybe"

One more to go. This one swung a knife at the Jedi's head.

Sidestepping it and backing up, Josh got on his knees and mock begged for mercy.

"Oh no! You've found my ultimate weakness! Small knives!" He cried out sarcastically, only to kick the incoming knife wielder in the knee.

"MAN you should be glad that wasn't an arrow!" He remarked. He followed this up with a slash through the torso before the lizard man thing could get up.

Josh got up and wiped his robes, deactivating his saber. He gave the seer a casual wave.

When Joshua returned to her she remarked on his first comment saying "Sadly I have no such special individual in my life. Though I suspect you'd be the first to ask after hearing that information. And as to your childish bravado in battle, it's ill becoming a Jedi Master as far as I think." She smoothed Xira out to become a walking stick again before saying "Now, we must help the people. I think it's clear these pirates are slavers, Or they intend to take who they can back for hunting on their world. From what I understand about them we'll need to take out the leader. Care to know where we'd fine him?"

@Joshua DragonsFlame

"I kind of figured them for slavers to begin with" he began. "They have that look to them. It's why I didn't show them the respect that I normally do in combat" he explained. "It's sort of been a habit of mine to never show compassion or mercy to slavers. Someone that cruel doesn't deserve the honor I take into my duels"

His tone had become serious again. Because harsh reality, they were being invaded by lizard people.

"As for that first bit..." his lips twitched into a smile. "Could call me surprised you don't. You strike me as someone who'd found that special someone by now. And no, constant moving and travel doesn't scream that you're single. I've had my suspicions that Sao's been showing signs of pregnancy for awhile now. I barely see her, she's still constantly on the move floating from ship to ship across the galaxy, endlessly wandering. Her visits have become longer, yeah, but she still... Yknow"

"But back to business" he began again. "If you want to tell, feel free" he said seriously. "If not, I'll make sure there's less slavers terrorizing this space until I find him"

"I may have foresight but I'm still blind." she explained. "Unless we can tell which is the command ship we'll have to draw him out. But that means getting through the rest of these pirates." There came a scream from the distance, making Salina say "As good a place to start I suppose." She held her hand out for Joshua to help her over to where the people were being rounded up by more trodoshians before saying "I don't think you need the ability to see the future to know how this turns out." with a smirk. Preparing Xira as a whip she looked in Joshua's direction and nodded before joining him in fighting as many of the pirates as possible.

@[member="Joshua DragonsFlame"]

He smirked a bit as he joyfully escorted the woman toward the pirates. Once they came near, he let her go gently, patting her on the back to indicate he was still there.

"Hey!" he called out toward the slavers who were rounding up civilians. "You know, even if you enslave these people, you're still ugly inside and out. Enslaving innocents doesn't help that any!" he snarked. "But if you're feeling froggy, why don't you try someone who ISN'T afraid to fight back?"

That was all it took, it seems to rile up the trodoshians enough to take their eyes off the civilians, who ran for their lives at first opportunity. As they began to advance on them, Josh looked over at Salina.

"Seems I found a use for my snarkiness" he joked with a smile. "I think I might have picked some of it up from Saoirse"

He drew his lightsaber, an indicator to the Seeress that shiz was about to hit the fan.

Salina stood with Joshua as waited until the pirates came to them. That's when she sprang into action, using Xira to smack a few away from her before blocking when they attacked with with large daggers. The amphistaff became hardened enough to block their blades before she took an advantage and either kicked them away or used their strength against them to make them flip over her. At one point two of them had managed to grab her arms and keep her from swinging Xira, only for the amphistaff to come alive as a serpent again and lash out at both of them. It bite one in the neck as the one tried to pull it off, only to slither up and strangle it to death as the first one died from poison in the fangs. When Xira was done she slithered up Salina's leg before reaching her arm again, the blind seer saying "Good girl."

Nearby one of the other pirates saw as the men were being defeated by two odd humans, making him run towards the command ship to inform the captain.

@Joshua DragonsFlame

Josh smashed Salina a smile as he let the Seer go first. When one swung at him, Josh ducked quickly, this time delivering Salina a kindness by not taunting them and being Spidey-like. Instead, he stabbed the lizard guy in the gut and moved on, which was good because he barely sensed in time one trying to gut him from behind. A quick kick backwards that hit the poor thing in the pelvis gave Josh time to backflip behind them, aided by the force, and slashing through their shoulder in mid-air.

Josh saw one of them run, and nudged Salina. "I think we have more company coming" he remarked. "Or the Captain. Or both"

A large clunky speeder armed with a cannon on the bow had made it's way through the streets towards them. It stopped nearby but the cannon was aimed on them. Among the dozen pirates was a large lizard that stood eight feet tall. It's scales were a heavy dark green and it's armor seemed heavier than the others. He hissed before calling out "You tow a=have caused enough problems with my plans today! No more!"
Salina leaned over to @[member="Joshua DragonsFlame"] and said "I can't see him, but I'm guessing that's the leader?"
