The tale of Apex begins with the lineage of Malok.

Once a prince of his people, the future Commander enjoyed a "playboy" lifestyle whilst his brother ruled with an iron fist. On an ill-fated evening, Malok made the mistake of challenging his sibling's authority - albeit due to alcohol. However, this "offense" was met with severe consequences, for Malok was immediately hurled into a cell for many weeks. Following his unjust imprisonment, the Commander was then sold into the servitude of a Mandalorian Bounty Hunter and taken off world.

Malok learned and served under the heel of his "Master", but rebelled once the Force awoke within him. He broke his bonds and viciously turned upon the Mandalorian - claiming his life and becoming free in the process. Malok then returned to his home world where he sought vengeance in the form of assassination. He managed to break into the very dungeons which held him and released every prisoner he could find. Together, they fought into the palace and nearly succeeded in their goal, before being overrun by guards.

Malok and a number of the prisoners managed to escape into the surrounding Jungles...and quickly found themselves a beacon of hope to the native people. The oppressed and disgruntled came to join the Commander in droves, prompting a guerrilla war against their liege. Then, a full-fledged rebellion sparked in which Malok launched an assault upon the palace. However, he and his forces were not ready to deal with capital ship support and were quickly diminished by orbital bombardment.

In the aftermath, Malok and his collaborators fled the world in the hopes of returning someday to finish what they began. Thus was ApeX formed from the ashes of their ill-fated rebellion: a congregation of warriors who survived in the Galaxy by selling their strength abroad.

ApeX is a PMC (Private Military Company) whose services revolve around three operations.

Their primary operation, and income source, is Mercenary Services - in which ApeX will fight on behalf of a nation, corporation, etc. For the most part, their contributions (and expectations) in this operation are relatively standard when compared to other mercenary groups. ApeX will only fight when a portion of the agreed upon price is paid upfront and will continue fighting until the enemy is defeated or the entire battle is lost.

Next, their secondary operation is that of Fugitive Recovery - in which ApeX will investigate the whereabouts of/retrieve an HVT (High-Value Target). In a Galaxy characterized by rising and falling nations, Defections , War Crimes, and other sources of flight are commonplace. As such, ApeX will gladly hunt down fugitives for the right price.

Finally, their third operation is that of Training Support - in which ApeX will personally cultivate a client's militant force. This, typically, entails rigorous physical activity, anti-interrogation tactics, and other valuable "tools of the trade" vital to the modern battlefield.

For the most part, ApeX is operated much akin to a standard military unit. It maintains a strict chain of command, steadily pays its warriors, and tolerates nothing shy of quality on and off the battlefield. As a whole, the PMC aspires to bring credit to its name - by being the pinnacle of mercenary excellence.
