"I've cleared an entrance, move now before the next wave comes," JJ pressed into her mind trusting the team had each taken care of their part of the first wave of bandits.

Kaitlyn had indeed done her job expertly as trained picking off the bandits that [member="Judah Lesan Jr."] and [member="Mark Sage"] had not dispatched as they poised themselves to enter the mine. After all, she was covering the Jedi's six. The trio moved inside staying vigilant; she taking point now scouting out ahead, then suddenly the Ranger stopped the boys a few feet further into the tunnel with an extended up closed fist. KT crouched down. Just what she thought...

"There's a trip wire here… " Kaitlyn advised, then took out a tool from the pouch on her utility belt and disabled the welcoming device. "Wow, that could have been nasty. We are going to have to be real careful as it seems they have this place booby trapped. Keep your eyes and whatever peeled," she said a bit dryly, then replaced the tool and stood up.

"So what does the Force tell you… right or left gentleman?" the brunette asked as they came to a fork in the tunnel system.

"Hmm.."
Mark thought. He allowed the force to make the decision for him. Something about the right path was pulling him toward it.
"I guess right is right..." he thought.
"I vote right. What do you think?"
He looked to the others.

Jacen leapt over the side of the air speeder, sliding into the driving seat. "Kark," he swore quietly after slamming his elbow into the inner edge of the door. Shaking it off, he grabbed the wheel and thumbed on the power. Repulsors whined as the speeder kicked into life and rushed on.

"Get one of our people at the embassy in the comm," Jacen said. "When we get back to the academy we're going to have a talk about crossing lines, but for now we have bigger issues. Mainly a few kilos of baradium in the sewer under the embassy and ten revolutionaries armed to the teeth and ready to take any survivors hostage."

Voidstalker yanked on the wheel on an impulse from the Force. He narrowly avoided another speeder pulling out from an alley. There couldn't have been more than an inch between the two vehicles.

Des fumbled for the commlink, thumbing the short range communications device on. At the other Jedi's comment about crossing lines, Des glared aside. "You want to talk about it? Fine," he bit, frustration and perhaps even anger sounding in the undertones of his voice. For now, he had more important things to do, however.

He set the commlink to the standard frequency that had been assigned to the Jedi on Antar for the duration of their stay. It was a closed line, but Des was uncertain of how secure it was. Whatever the case, they didn't have time to be cautious. As the embassy was in the same city, it should be well within the comm's range. "This is Padawan Des Kovak, calling anyone at the Antaran embassy," he spoke into the comm's reciever. "This is an emergency transmission. Repeat, calling any Jedi at the embassy. This is an emergency."

Both of his partners in this endeavor had taken care of their set of bandits. JJ just nodded as he looked on what they had done together. He was proud of the team work displayed so far. Right or left was the next determination. He watched Mark as the boy simply guessed, and JJ just shook his head. Now was the time to rely on the force and not guess. The older Padawan had to remind himself the other hadn't been training as long, and so JJ let it go.

Reaching out with the force JJ scanned their environment. There was chaos all through out the place, and the next wave would come from the right. At least Mark knew to go with his gut on this. Judah nodded toward the right and led the way down. They would stay to this formation. Judah to take the front, Kaitlyn his six, and Mark would cove Kaitly's. This kept the ranger with a lightsaber on either side of her to black stray blaster bolts and creating a blockade of sorts for her to fire from.

"Keep your senses stretched out ahead of you. Move with caution, and be sure to cover the ranger as she deals with whatever trip wires we come across. Kaitlyn, we'll make sure to provide suitable cover so you don't have to duck behind anything."

He then dropped Mark from the mental conversation as he sensed something in Kaitlyn he wanted to handle privately. There was anger there, and JJ didn't want it compromising the mission. He'd find out later why it was there, but for now he wanted to see it kept in check, more that he needed the assurance it would be.

"Don't fight angry. It may fuel you, but too much and it will keep you from winning the battle. Just remember you won't get what you want if you get too angry."

He was likely out of place, but he was concerned.

Kaitlyn would never get used to having Jedi just drop into her mind and "talk" to her by using Force Telepathy. It was unnerving really and quite frankly rude as the Corellian hadn't been invited to formally, though she understood why he'd done it. Anger did percolate just under the surface over the death of her mother at the hands of these cowards. She didn't even have a chance to fight back as the remotely activated bomb had left that option off the table. And, Marja Solay was an Antarian Ranger like her mother before her. She would have given the bandits a run for their money too.

"Roger that," Kait simply replied, then the ranger took up her new position in between the two padawans as they made to move out again, taking the tunnel to the right as Mark had suggested. JJ and her would be having a talk later... For now, the mission was the top priority not her emotional issues. She was well-trained and knew the importance of how to keep personal stuff out of the fight.

Justice, not revenge, she reminded herself as they creeped deeper into the mine. Apprehending the perpetrators of the bombings and holding them accountable in a court of law though was the right way to do it, just not as personally satisfying, or at least Kait thought that way at present as emotions were still raw and the pain of her loss ever present.

Judah continued up the cavern after pulling out of Kaitlyn's mind. There was a sharp displeasure he could sense coming from her. The last thought she had of a conversation rang in his mind because somehow he seemed to push deeper than he thought. Either had, or there was a natural link. Such a thing was not unheard of as his parents shared such a link. He thought he had a bond with [member="Sasha Voss"], but their encounter had seemed to have been just that, an encounter. JJ sighed as he pushed forward. She'd left, and he should move on, but he couldn't. Maybe it was the bond they had, maybe because they had always been so close, or maybe because she had been his first and only sexual partner to date. Whatever the reason, Judah was having a hard time.

His hand raised as the rounded the corner. He sensed two men, they were lowly guards, and with a quick trick he learned from his father, he misdirected the two as the other passed by. Coming up behind them, he knocked them out cold with the butt of his hilt. He'd hate to have the bump on the head they'd get from that. Two sets of stun cuffs had them restrained. They wouldn't be going anywhere for a while.

Wherever they were headed, it seemed to not be where the next wave was coming from. Instead they were headed deeper into the mine, and Judah was gettng a bad feeling. Running ahead of the group, quickly and quietly, he stopped at the next corner before they rounded it. Another hand came up, this time there was a conversation taking place. The cave walls caused an echo, and the group could hear the conversation clearly.

"Can you believe that raid on Antar 4? The stupid rangers never saw it coming. Nothing like having a few sleeper cells in the group."

JJ looked to Kaitlyn just to be sure she was okay.

"You remember that pretty one, you know the dark haired one that was standing watch. When we put that explosive right next to where she was standing without even getting caught."

"Oh yeah! There was the you get one too... must have been her daughter cuz they looked alike. She was so mortified when the explosion hit. I can still hear her cries in my head. That was a good day."

They had pushed deeper into the mine with little resistance, and what resistance given them was quickly handled without further bloodshed. Though, one of the bandit lackey's did get a swift kick to the shin when he spat on her boot with an unsolicited comment added after being cuffed bringing a small satisfied smirk to Kaitlyn's face and a gag for his mouth.

After moving on from there the team soon came upon some voices echoing within the tunnel walls. As they neared where the sounds were coming from, what was being said made the Ranger's stomach turn and anger burn hot within her soul. They were the ones responsible for the bombing at the mall, and her mother's death!

If only Mom would have come with me…

Kaitlyn still felt surviver's guilt. The blast had gone off in the main courtyard of the mall where many Antarians were mulling around with family and friends. She had just gone inside a store to look at a jacket and had looked out at her mother who was smiling when the bomb went off. The blast killed anyone and everyone within radius of the bomb. The young Ranger had been shielded from any major physical harm, but would forever wear the mental ones imbedded into her that day.

Rage filled her veins and she exploded around the corner going after the men daggers drawn before those bandits could say another word.

It didn't take long for JJ to put two and two together. Those men had been there that day, and Kaitlyn had lost someone dear to her. He didn't press into her mind to find out who she had lost, but the rage, and the way she just darted out from their hiding place with daggers drawn, were the actions of revenge. Judah had to follow her out now that their cover was blown anyway. More than that, he had to make sure she didn't do something she would regret.

Blaster fire was coming after them already, and so JJ ignited his blade again to deflect the bolts. This offered him the chance to get between Kaitlyn and the two men, but he knew it was not going to keep her from getting to them. He pleaded with his eyes as he turned to give her a brief glance. The plea was simple. Don't do anything that would be regretted later. This time he knew better, not to say anything. His mother had tried teaching him when to keep his mouth shut around women, and usually JJ got it wrong. This time was obvious, keep it shut.

Judah went after the one who hadn't set the bomb. Kaitlyn would want the other for himself, and Mark was left to guard their actions. If they could clear this room, there was just one more chamber left, from what JJ could sense, and then this part of the mission would be complete. Afterward, JJ could ask all the questions he needed to figure out what was really going on inside of Kaitlyn's head. While they had just met, JJ took after his father and was a fixer. His heart was large and caring, and naturally he wanted to help Kaitlyn with her pain.

Objective: Write this history report
Location: Antar 4

The intimidating silhouette of the ship Silent But Deadly cast a long shadow over the planet as it drifted overhead.

The terrible transport traversed the tenuous terrain, before settling down at the inconspicuous landing pad that had been marked Docking Bay Two-and-Three-Quarters. The loading ramp dropped to the ground. The ship bay doors pulling apart to reveal a small, dark figure. A blaster hung down over his thigh. The brim of a fedora was tipped low over his face. In any era, where ever trouble beckoned, or danger called... he was the one who answered the comm.

The Jawa of Jawbreakers.

The Legendary Legend of Legends.

The Adventures of Jono Ja--

The holocomic was ripped from out of his hands.

"Hey!" the Nautolan whined, his face adopting a petulant scowl as the head-tailed youngling found himself glaring up at the Gotal librarian. The small Nautolan had settled into the youngling section of a library near the Republic embassy where the rest of the Padawans were doing... stuff.

What kind of stuff? Well, whatever teenagers did. Boring stuff. Probably talking. Lots and lots of talking.

They were supposed to be doing some bombad diplomatic thing for the Republic Senate. While Zak was supposed to be working on a history report of Antar 4 for his Academy classes. The evil Girl Jedi had tempted him with exploring some dead moon with an old droid ship on it, but the Nautolan wasn't sure just what had happened to her.

She was probably exploring it without him.

...or talking.

Five credits said it was probably a boy.

Ew! What if they were kissing?

Mental image.

DO.

NOT.

WANT.

As part of his research into Gotal culture, the youngling had picked up The Adventures of Jono Jawa: The Wrath of the Wicked Wedgie Weequay. It wasn't the latest issue, but it was newer than what they had on Ossus!

Seriously, you would think that a Jedi Order would have the resources for a current comic subscription.

As the librarian confiscated the holocomic, the horned woman dropped a datapad containing the almanac which the young padawan was supposed to have been reading. Lifting it up, the coal black eyes of the boy mirrored a screen on which there were words. Much words. Many vocabulary.

...and no pictures.

"Arrggghhhhh!" the child whined, slumping down further in the child-sized chair he'd gotten comfortable in. History report? Seriously? He was a Jedi Guardian! Weren't there researchers or some poodoo to do kriff like this?

He bet Sith kids didn't have to do history reports. They were probably doing Force stuff right now, like hitting people in the face with lightsabers.

And reading Jono Jawa holocomics.

Springing forward, the boy set the almanac aside as he picked up his school pad. Using his finger as a stylus, he started drafting out the start to his report.

Antar 4 is a moon orbiting the planet Antar a world in the...

Was there supposed to be a comma there?

Blinking, the boy held the datapad out at arm's length as he evaluated the sentence that he'd started sketching out on the screen. What were the rules for commas?

Why did commas have rules? They were commas! Seriously, did adults have to make rules for EVERYTHING?

Galactic Basic Standard was some poodoo. Why couldn't everyone just speak Nautoli?

And, yes, he thought that there was supposed to be a comma there. So he tapped the screen with his finger, adding that and working his way further down the sentence.

Antar 4 is a moon orbiting the planet Antar, a world in the Prenda Prindaar System...

Macharius Solaire said:
"Padawan Cotarin my apologies for being late. A series of unfortunate events involving personal injury, several Padawans and a slow pilot delayed me. Lucky none of them connected. So would you mind bringing me up to speed and introducing me"?

Dair turned to Senator Solaire and smiled. He welcomed the chance to be away from the sniveling bureaucrat he had been talking to. He took a moment to collect his thoughts as he looked around the room.

"Well, Senator. We have gotten the negotiations for the treaty bringing Antar into the Republic down to a few sticking points. One such is this bright young man here," He indicated the bureaucrat he had been talking to. "Is very adamant that we exclude all of the Republics intelligence services from the section delineating the use of territory within the system for Republic forces. Said forces are currently taking out the bandits on Antar 5."

Dair paused then, there was something bothering him, but he couldn't put his finger on it. There was a sudden sense of danger, but as he looked around the room, nothing was truly different. He took a deep breath and sank into his connection to the force, letting the icy coolness flow into his limbs. The danger feeling came from below. Just then, he was approached by another Padawan.

"Dair, we are receiving a communique from the field, they say it's an emergency." She passed him a communicator, just as it came to life.

Des Kovak said:
"This is Padawan Des Kovak, calling anyone at the Antaran embassy," he spoke into the comm's reciever. "This is an emergency transmission. Repeat, calling any Jedi at the embassy. This is an emergency."
"Padawan Kovak, this is Padawan Cotarin. I have Senator Solaire here with me. What is the emergncy?"

"Alright. The last charge is set. Regroup at the door to the garden. As long as the alarm has not been raised, we should be able to get out quickly." Rickard told his men over their communications net. Then he lead his team toward the door.

The brunette Ranger subdued the bomber pretty easily relying on her pain and anger to fuel her desire to get him; make him pay. Kaitlyn slammed him up against the tunnel wall as he tried to run, then tweaked his arm up behind his back at an unnatural angle with the sharp blade of her dagger at his throat. She so wanted to kill him right there to avenge her mother's death and all the others…. but after much internal turmoil, and pleading looks from the Corellian, the bandit was simply cuffed.

"I will not stoop to your level and kill you in cold blood as you did my mother. You will be tried for all the innocent blood on your hands and receive the justice you deserve in a court of law as will your fellow Pindaar Freedom bandits for your crimes against humanity."

Kaitlyn stepped away from the man's ear whom she had spoken directly to, then gave a nod to the Jedi before walking down the tunnel.

She cuffed him, and JJ breathed a sigh of relief. The rest of the bandits were rounded up, JJ had completed his part of this mission. The walk outside, back to the fresh air, was quiet. Neither wanted to speak about what almost happened back there, but JJ was too much of one to talk. Quiet didn't last once they reached the surface, and the bandits were handed over.

"Your mother... I'm sorry."

The transport vehicles were flashing their lights at all the Jedi which were around. Fortunately, Judah was on his own, and had a freighter hidden away in the woods. His speeder bike was not far from where he had been scouting out the entrance. It was hidde as well.

"So I guess this is see you when I see you, or can I give you a ride somewhere," he asked revealing his soeeder bike. "I've got a friend to be looking for, but I'm never so rushed as to make a chivalrous detour..."

"Thank you," she nodded simply to back to Judah as he expressed his sympathy for the now known loss of her mother at the hands of the bandits, though the actual details of that day were yet to be discussed with him. Maybe someday, maybe never, who knew… It would depend if Kait ever considered the Corellian Jedi more than just a colleague, and more like a close friend.

Kaitlyn smiled at JJ's offer to give her a lift, but she shook her head no as the Ranger's speeder bike was uncovered from it's hiding spot. "I have my own ride as you can see, and a ship waiting. Thanks though for your assistance in this endeavor. My people are in the Republic's debt as am I yours," the brunette shared, then reached into the pouch on her utility belt and pulled out a black marker. She wrote her comm number on the palm of his hand.

"Just in case you may need assistance in the future. Good bye, Judah. May the Force be with you always."

With that said, Kaitlyn mounted the bike, then waved to the other Jedi before speeding off through the trees.

The Miralan's senses had been correct. There was indeed a disturbance here. Megan and her escort had just discovered the bodies of four embassy guards. Killed silently and cleverly. Somebody was definitely up to something.

Rhymes had two Republic Troopers with her. One of them gave an angry nod,

"Securities been compromised. We have to get our people someplace safe."

"Agreed. Jedi? Who's inside?"

"Inside the Embassy? Everybody important of course. The Delegation and all of Antar's people. But we can't just barge in there."

They looked back and forth between each other. Stunned at the sudden discovery. Wondering how to proceed. Then Megan heard Des Kovak's message on the comlink. Something really was going sour today. The other two troopers knew it too.

"Wait. Oh no. We're not the only ones who know something is up. The radio is buzzing with more trouble." Rhymes nodded.

"Then it's up to the Embassy Guards to finish the job and get everyone to safety. If we started rushing in, we'd just cause a panic."

"Agreed. But perhaps there is something we can do?"

Rhymes stood up and nodded. The trooper was right. This was sovereign Antarian territory. They couldn't just go swinging their guns around out here.

"I see. Let's call it in. Then we'll see if anybody suspicious is coming and going from the building. They probably used this door to enter."

"I'm on the horn now. Let's see if these Antarian Guards are feeling generous today."

"Jedi. Erm, Apprentice Rhymes. We'll hold down this location. Wait for back up and create a parameter. You should stay with us. Safer that way. They'll want to ID the bodies anyway. We shouldn't go rushing off on some damned fool idealist crusade. You either."

Megan bite her lip. Caution told her that the Sergent was probably right. Chasing into the Embassy was just as likely to go foul. She couldn't rush this. She didn't have all the facts.

"Very well. Creating a parameter, it is. Let's get to work."

Time to close off the exits.

JJ grinned as Kaitlyn pulled her soeeder bike from its cover. His was not from here at all. It seems they thought alike on this score. He just nodded in understanding as she mentioned there was a ship waiting for her. A smirk played at his lips when the suggestion came that she was in his debt. He didn't understand why, but he nodded all the same. JJ was just doing what he thought right.

Surprise washed over his face when she wrote her comm number on his hand. This must have been what it was like to get a girls number then. JJ had been so infatuated with his feelings for Sasha that after she took off, JJ had a difficult time just moving on. He'd been looking for her since the rapture event, and was looking for any kind of evidence that she was still among the living. The one thing that haunted him was whether they had grown too far apart, or if the bond they shared would be enough to bring them together again. So why was JJ's mind on Kaitlyn?

He waved goodbye as she sped off... one final thought to her mind.

"See you around, Kait..."

JJ wavd to Mark.

"See ya later... you did good in there, gonna be a great Jedi!"

Getting on his own bike, he sped off into the sunset, why, just so he could say he did...

The small Nautolan gave a sigh of relief as he saved his work and switched off the datapad containing the history report he'd compiled about Antar 4.

Except, now what was he supposed to do? Flopping over on his side, the youngling draped himself across the chair that he occupied in the children's section of the library. The Clone Wars era ship that Padawan Roshki had been talking about earlier had been interesting to read about. Of course, anything concerning General Grievous had instant cool appeal to it. He was a droid who could fight Jedi without the Force, and used four lightsabers at once!

...but, he'd also kinda flown his star destroyer into a moon. So, he obviously wasn't a very good pilot or navigator-type person.

Since the librarian had taken away the boy's holocomic, the youngling's head hung listlessly down toward the floor in boredom. The fourteen stubby head-tails dangled in the air, as the child gave an exaggerated sigh. If there was such a thing as Force Boredom, then Zak was rapidly becoming a master of it.

Maybe there was a place back in the embassy where he could watch the HoloNet while the older padawans finished whatever it was that older padawans did? Oh! Craning his head up suddenly, the boy glanced over at the chronometer on the wall. It was almost time for Captain Ossus to come on.

Twisting so that he was on his back, the green-skinned child brought both legs up... and then kicked out as he swung them back down toward the floor. Springing up from out of the chair, the amphibious youngling bounced into the air before landing upright. School pad tucked under one arm, the revitalized child went barreling through the library, out into the streets, and running for the gates of the embassy.

...at least, until he saw that the entrances were being guarded. Not like, embassy guard guarded. Like, no girls allowed guarded.

Slowing his gait to something a little slower than point-five past sugar high, the small Nautolan stepped up toward the entry to the embassy and found the way closed. "Beat it, kid," a soldier on the gate remarked.

"But..."

"Come back later," a second guard stated.

Seeing something move in the gardens on the other side of gate he was trying to pass through, the boy realized that he saw someone familiar. "Hey... Padawan..." uh, what was her name? Zak made it a habit not to learn girls names. It was the first step to a cooties epidemic.

"...uh... Padawan, brah."

Yeah. He'd completely forgotten the name. Hopefully he'd caught her attention, and she could let him into the embassy.

What was going on with all these guards anyway?

Oh. Padawan Dymo of Ossus had arrived. Funny that. Last time she saw him Zak was busy showcasing his latest sword skills. Figures he'd be adventurous enough to fly all the way out here too. It suited him.

"It's Rhymes, Dymo. Apprentice Rhymes, remember. Look. I know I'm a girl and everything. But this is serious. ...See all the Republic Troopers gathered about. We've had reports of trouble around the embassy. We're locking her down. And our delegation is still inside."

She put her hands on her hips and nodded.

"Until Kovak and Voidstalker show up, and we figure out what's going on? We're not supposed to do anything. The Antarian's are running this show. I'm just here to keep the cars warm for when our people come out. Safe exit, and all that."

The girl talked fast and seemed preoccupied. She was always looking back and forth around the area. Even the soldiers seemed on edge. Something was definitely up.

Mouth slightly agape, the small Nautolan tried to follow along with what the older Jedi was telling him. Trouble... locking the embassy down...

...what did that mean anyway? ...and what was a delegation? ...or a Kovak?

Wait, was a Kovak a person, place, or a thing?

Voidstalker. Now the girl was finally making some sense. Mister Super Old Padawan was here? That Jedi was, like, ancient! And kinda scary to be honest.

Nodding along as he tried to follow what she was saying, and becoming completely lost in the futile effort. What was a car? And why did it have to be kept warm for example? "Oh.." the child managed finally, when the older girl had finished.

"...soooo does that mean that I can't come in?"
