Judah "JJ" Lesan Jr.

jjbio.png

APPEARANCE:
JJ is not overly muscular for his age, but very toned. There is a natural look about him which speaks to a strength coming from hard work rather than hours a day in the gym. His body is lean, making him appear to be weaker than he is, a fact he exploits to his advantage. His hair is a medium length for a kid his age, and usually kept between sloppy and neat. It's the style... he thinks. Eyes are a piercing blue, inherited from his mother, a fact which Judah Sr. never understood. Though he never knew his family growing up and determined blue eyes were in the Lesan family somewhere.

Clothes are not an issue for JJ in the sense that he has no concern for fashion. JJ is a country boy through and through. He loves his jeans, t-shirts, jackets, and when the weather permits he prefers to work outside with no shirt at all. His feet are usually covered in work boots, and he doesn't go anywhere without his vibroblades. A good blade always comes in handy, and like his father, he keeps his in his boots. Jedi robes are worn on occasion, but only when Cambria Zadira, his master, requires them. JJ finds them to be stuffy, but doesn't mind how they make his master look.

BIOGRAPHY:
Judah, "JJ," Lesan Jr. is the only son of Judah Lesan and Katara Starkos-Lesan. His early years hold no memory of his father since Judah was often gone on Jedi business. This meant Katara raised JJ for the most part, making the boy a decided "mama's boy." He was proud of that fact.

At age 3 it was clear the child was force sensitive and by five a teacher was needed. Judah and Katara called on long time friend Cambria Zadira to help in keeping the secret they shared. Judah was wary that knowledge of his family went past them. Sith could be ruthless, and JJ had always been told the secrecy was for safety. He though it was because his was a shadow.

Under Cambria's guidance, JJ trained to be a guardian. Of course at fourteen, he is only a Padawan, but the path has already been clearly identified. He is too much like his mother to stand by and hide in the shadows. Why hide when one can take the fight where it belongs. Life is lived on the property owned by the Lesan's near coronet peak. JJ spends his free time repairing the work Judah had done, and makes his own improvements. He enjoys workin with his hands. A trait he inherited from his father.

At the age of 14 JJ's father came home with a girl, [member="Sasha Voss"]. The magenta haired teen quickly became part of the family. The two quickly developed a bond of sorts which seemed sibling like in nature. Conventional school had not worked for Sasha, and her connection to Cambria Zadira led to her leaving with Cambria to travel the galaxy. The transtion was hard as the house felt empty without her. JJ reamined intorverted through high school, and focused on his training with his father. Upon graduation, JJ stayed on the Lesan compound and began to travel with is father on missions. When not on missions, his free time is spent building and fixing up the compund equipment and structures.

[member="Judah Lesan Jr."] Many character sheets with a listing of Force-powers often talk about their level as Force-powers, described as either Padawan-level, Knight-level or Master-level, and sometimes with further subdivisions. So, as a measure of courtesy, I'm curious as to what are the levels of skill in the Force-powers you do have?

That's because most people like to be godawans...

look over at my tag under my avi. If people write beyond that little tag (as it is required to have for force users) than they are going beyond the reason it is required are they not?

[member="Judah Lesan Jr."] Such subdivision of skill in a character's listing of powers probably makes more sense to Knight and Master-level characters, but even Padawans still use some skills more in RPs than others, especially as they get more advanced and get a better feel of what they want to be as FUs. It could simply reflect how much you used a Force-power over another, for instance.

You cannot assume people use all Force-powers in roughly the same amounts, nor that they will be equally skilled in all Force-powers they know. Plus godawans are not necessarily the result of bad writing: they can arise for example due to real-world issues of their masters or overly demanding masters, or due to them having developed a non-Force skill at an elite level as NFUs (and RPed its development or use as NFUs) prior to unlocking their latent Force-sensitivity, possibly manifesting through that elite-level non-Force skill.

If you spam a Force-power over and over, you would expect to get better at the Force-power you spammed.
