Private Another Star in the Family

The steady hum of machinery filled the hangar aboard Varin's ship as Seren waited near the designated landing area. She arrived early, giving herself plenty of time to contemplate a long-overdue reunion. It had been years since she had seen Dante, and the little boy she remembered was now fifteen. She wondered how much of him she would recognize, and how much of the person he had become would be unfamiliar to her.

Their separation had not been entirely beyond her control. Seren had chosen not to return to Alderaan after leaving the Jedi, and the years that followed had provided countless opportunities to reconsider that decision. Yet another expedition, another unanswered question, or another reason to postpone confronting the family she had left behind had always appeared. She could hardly blame Dante for resenting her absence.

Her amber eyes turned toward the hangar entrance as the expected arrival drew nearer. She had faced Sith, Jedi, and creatures from the Netherworld with far less apprehension than she felt as she waited for her youngest brother. The realization brought a faint, rueful smile to her lips.

"Well, Seren," she murmured to herself, "you've certainly had enough time to prepare for this."

She folded her hands loosely in front of her and waited for the shuttle carrying Dante to arrive.

Dante was more calm than he would guessed. He looks when the ship enters the planet atmosfer he eyes move taking the scene ,even if in a quick descend, new places, new people, new learn and his sister. He is curious how much she changed? Not physically but personality, the Siths are very different from Alderaan in an way at the same time politics and diplomacy have it's place in the Convenant. e soft chuckles and when finally land. He leaves the shuttler, his personagrimmoire under his expensive jacked in one side, his lightsaber in the other.

"Sister" He says with a smile.

The shuttle's engine noise gradually faded as Seren watched the boarding ramp lower into the hangar. She had wondered what it would feel like to see Dante again after so many years, whether family familiarity would overcome the distance that had grown between them. Yet the moment he appeared, smiling as he greeted her, much of her apprehension gave way to a warmth she had not quite anticipated.

"Dante," she answered, returning his smile as she approached him. Her amber eyes traveled over her youngest brother, taking in his height, expensive clothing, and the unmistakable lightsaber at his side. He was certainly no longer the little boy she remembered, though something about his expression still felt familiar enough to widen her smile. "You have grown up. Quite a bit, actually. I suppose I shouldn't be surprised, considering how long it's been."

She stopped before him, resisting the temptation to fuss over him as though he were still a child. Fifteen was hardly adulthood, but she suspected Dante would have little patience for being treated like the boy she had left behind. Instead, she reached out to give his arm an affectionate squeeze.

"It's good to see you, little brother," she said, her expression softening. "How has everybody been? Mother, Father, our brother? I hope you've all been well."

She had many more questions, especially about the lightsaber he carried and the circumstances that had led him toward the Sith. Those could wait a little longer. For now, she simply wanted to hear about the family she had been away from for far too many years.

Dante smile to Seren lsitening to her,he was waiting an fuss but get surprised when that not came, he give an soft huffs with an smile "Yeah it had been years snce yo leave. I can't blame you to not return" He sighs that sigh he give since he was little and some authoritive figre annoyed him.

He listen to her question and give a very soft and low tone chuckles
"They are alright, since the rebellious son is not showing up much and not living with them, thhings are better between I and them" He grins.

"and you? How are you doin? You had a lot of big changes in your life no? from Jedi to the Dark side? Tell me everything!"
He says with a bi smile, eyes shining with curiosity

Seren recognized the familiar sigh and couldn't help but smile. Apparently, Dante's opinion of authority hadn't changed much since childhood. "I'm glad everyone is doing well. Though I suspect you've given Mother and Father a few more gray hairs since I last saw you." His enthusiasm about her experiences earned a soft laugh. "Everything? That could take a while, little brother. The short version is that the Jedi disapproved of my research, the Sith encouraged it, and eventually I discovered I didn't particularly want either of them deciding who I should be."

She glanced toward a shadow cast by the nearby shuttle and extended one hand. The darkness stretched unnaturally across the hangar floor, then rose into several slender tendrils that curled around her fingers. With a little concentration, she wove them into the shape of a delicate flower, its dark petals slowly unfolding above her palm.

"I've become rather accomplished with shadows and Sith sorcery," she explained, letting the flower dissolve and the darkness return to its natural place. "But enough about me for the moment. I noticed the lightsaber you're carrying. I take it you've been pursuing some interesting studies of your own?"

He look with interest her control over thhe shadows when he trn to him he nods "Well if youu find me you know with who I'm with. Yeah I have my studies in Sith Sorcery and in evocation and summoning and controll of creatres I'm still starting it. The Lightsaber I admit I not training that lot of it as I need too,I"m too focused in uses of the Force."

He stay quiet for a tiem letting it sink
"I still having ky problems with authority so it is being interesting for to say, at lest people understood I don't wanan be a leader because it will go against my idea of REAL freedom.'

He look around
"So where we are after all, sister?"

Seren listened with interest as Dante described his studies, amused that they had both developed such an affinity for sorcery. His preference for exploring the Force over practicing with a lightsaber was another similarity she hadn't anticipated. "Summoning and evocation? You've certainly chosen an interesting specialty. I would be curious to see what you've learned sometime. Though I wouldn't neglect your lightsaber training entirely. Sorcery isn't always practical when someone is trying to cut you in half." Her smile widened slightly at his continued frustration with authority. "And I see you still haven't developed much patience for being told what to do. At least you're consistent."

His question about their surroundings reminded her that she hadn't actually explained where she'd invited him. "We're aboard Varin Mortifer's ship," she answered, gesturing toward the hangar around them. "Varin is my mate, and he was kind enough to let us meet here. I thought somewhere away from Alderaan and the Sith academies might give us a chance to catch up without anyone interrupting."

She gave Dante an affectionate smile, then motioned toward the hangar exit. "Come along. We can find somewhere more comfortable to talk. I have a feeling neither of us is going to run out of questions anytime soon."

"Mate?" He says surprised "Well if you love im it's means he not limit you, good!" He says as he still walking with her "I agree a more confortable place is better" As they walk he take the time to look the inside of the ship "So how is life far from Alderaan for you? Luxury or not luxury?" He walks noticing how some people in the ship look to Seren with difference, not Alderaan but servants are servants just different names for different types of servants. He was curious what kind of rooms this ship have, any special bedroom for the leader? training rooms? Hos many mess hhalls? Small curiosities he will forgget wiht time

Seren smiled at Dante's immediate concern for her independence, finding it reassuring that he understood how important such freedom was to her. "Varin gives me all the freedom I could want, little brother. He has never tried to dictate my choices, and I wouldn't have accepted him as my mate if he had." She continued walking beside him, occasionally glancing toward her younger brother as he examined the ship's interior with obvious curiosity.

"As for luxury, I suppose I've found a comfortable balance. I have a home on Malachor called Obsidian Hollow. It's a cave system I've converted into a residence, laboratory, and archive. I established it long before meeting Varin, and I still spend a great deal of time there." Her expression brightened with quiet affection. "I don't generally keep servants, although I occasionally appreciate some assistance. Particularly when I manage to get myself injured, as I did during the fighting on Thyferra. I discovered that even the most independent person sometimes needs someone else's help."

She gave him a sidelong glance, a hint of amusement returning to her features. "So, no grand palace or household of attendants waiting on my every whim. Though I suspect you'd find my collection of ancient manuscripts and dangerous artifacts considerably more interesting than any of those luxuries."
