| DESCRIPTION |
| The Alliance Guard Armor harkens back to an older design of the original Galactic Alliance Infantry Trooper to produce an armor that while lacking the standard pressurized and specialized sealed suits commonly seen in the myriad of Trooper Variants; still provides ample protection to the individuals donning the blue, black, and gold armor of the Galactic Alliance. Each armor suit is individually tailored to the personnel that the armor is issued, this is to ensure that the armor cannot be easily used should the individual be rendered inert in some capacity. Much like Blast Armor, the Alliance Guard Armor is fitted with pockets and underlay materials consisting of reflective crystals suspended in a semisolid gel which provide increased protection against sonic-based weaponry and physical impacts such as those from punches, kicks, or falls. Where the armor comes short is in the aforementioned lack of being able to pressurize or seal the suit due to the open-faced helmet. This design rendered the wearer exposed to chemical and biological attacks, requiring that additional life-support systems be carried as a means to counter such occurrences. Likewise, this also means that the individual cannot utilize the armor to survive in the vacuum of space as is possible in various other armor designs. And, though capable of withstanding a glancing blow or slash, the armor is otherwise incapable of withstanding a full strike from a lightsaber or being pierced by such a weapon. Despite these shortcomings, the Alliance Guard Armor is still a reliable and effective piece of equipment. Insulated systems in the helmet and armor, coupled with a combat de-ionizer, ensure that the electronic systems within the armor are well protected and insulated from ion-based weaponry. Its Kinetic Resistance also ensures that the individual is likely to walk away from an engagement involving slugthrowers save for the largest calibers or armor-piercing munitions. Though developed in secret behind closed doors, the first troopers wearing the Alliance Guard Armor are waiting in the wings, ready to be deployed in the ongoing conflict the Galactic Alliance has been embroiled. |
