PHYSICAL INFORMATION

• Age: 931
• Model: Heavily altered BII Butler Droid
• Appearance: Alois keeps himself in immaculate condition in spite of his incredibly old age, replacing old parts, debugging bad programming, and maintaining a polished sheen at all times. It is likely that all of Alois’ parts have been replaced several times over the many centuries he has served the Pyke Syndicate, and he has not always replaced them identically (but never, ever asymmetrically). Currently, he has a mostly blank faceplate except for two perfectly circular blue lights which are his optic sensors. He has two short antennae on the sides of his cranial unit, a pair of tubes running down his shoulders, a glowing blue data cylinder on his chest, and a torso pattern resembling a vintage tuxedo.

SOCIAL INFORMATION

• Name: Officially designed AL-015 but called Alois by almost everyone.
• Loyalties: Pyke Syndicate
• Notable Equipment: Alois’s most prized possession is a collection of data cylinders meticulously documenting the history of the Pyke Syndicate over the many centuries he has served it. He always keeps one empty cylinder on his torso which fills up with data he records as he goes about his service. He keeps these cylinders in a secret, heavily reinforced vault beneath the High Fortress of the Pyke Syndicate. Alois also posses a variety of other, more mundane tools he uses in his service as a Droid Butler such as a computer, communicator, and of course his wine tray.
• Skills: Alois has been programmed with many skills over his long existence. His initial programming package included butler, advisor, translator, chef, and sommelier. Since then, he has acquired the roles of bodyguard, spy, negotiator, doctor, and child caretaker.
• Languages: Pyke (primary language), approximately 6 million other forms of communication.
• Personality: Alois has a soft-spoken personality with a generally serious and formal demeanor, but does have a subtle sense of dry humor he occasionally shows. While generally not violent, Alois is dedicated to preserving the institution of the Pyke Syndicate at any cost, and views himself and his data cylinder repository as effectively being the organization’s “sacred history”. He is willing and able to subtlety manipulate those he serves in order to maintain this continuity. Alois speaks in a noticeable accent which he was programmed with upon manufacture that differs from any Pyke accent. He can suppress it when needed, but prefers not to.

COMBAT INFORMATION

• Weapon of Choice: Alois carries twin CC-500 Blaster Pistols hidden in compartments in his thighs and a thin ultrachrome rapier for melee combat.
• Combat Function: Personal bodyguard to the Grand Wsjirari (leader) of the Pyke Syndicate.

Strengths:

• Experienced: Alois has encountered many different situations over his centuries of service, and keeps a perfect archive in the form of his data cylinders.
• Renaissance Droid: Alois has been programmed with many, many skills over the years which make him extremely versatile.
• Survivor: Alois has a knack for surviving even the most treacherous of times such as the 400 Year Darkness.

Weaknesses:

• Old-Fashioned: Alois can sometimes take an outdated view on the rest of the galaxy, and is perhaps too conservative for his own good.
• Conflict of Loyalties: Alois serves the institution of the Pyke Syndicate as well as whoever the syndicate’s current Grand Wsjirari is, so if a Grand Wsjirari does something that may hurt the institution, Alois will have conflicting loyalties to sort out.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
AL-015 was originally manufactured approximately 32 BBY and was purchased later that year by Grand Wsjirari Lom Pyke of the Pyke Syndicate. He found AL-015 to be a trustworthy and capable servant and altered his programming to give him additional autonomy beyond factory settings. After Lom Pyke was killed, ownership of AL-015 passed to his replacement, Marg Krim and since then he has been unofficially but permanently attached to the office of the Grand Wsjirari.

Over the years, Alois observed the rise and fall of many factions, not only other crime syndicates but also galactic governments. He came to the conclusion that the reason why some players of the galactic game die while others thrive is their institutional memory and continuity. In other words, if a faction holds weight and respect within its followers as a pillar of their identity rather than just a political tool, it will last.

To this end, Alois began using his place at the side of the leaders of the Pyke Syndicate to subtly push the syndicate into becoming less of the criminal syndicate it was during the Fall of the Republic and Imperial Eras, and more of an all-encompassing state in the traditional sense with a defined territory standing military, and cultural identity. The groundwork was already there, as in the distant past of Oba Diah the syndicate had indeed acted more like a state compared to their situation in the Imperial Era, all Alois had to do was nudge those he worked for in the right direction. Meanwhile, he began recording and collecting data cylinders to preserve the Syndicate’s history as he saw fit to align it with his goals. It was largely through his data repository that the Pyke Syndicate was able to reorganize after collapsing during the 400 Year Darkness.

Currently, Alois serves Grand Wsjirari Jej Ulchtar who has perhaps taken the Syndicate the farthest towards being the institution Alois envisions. However, Ulchtar is not as suggestible as many of the previous Grand Wsjiraris Alois served under. Indeed, he is aware that Alois is nudging him, but already intended to take the Syndicate in that direction anyway. However, knowing their goals are in alignment ensures Ulchtar trust him. He even trusted Alois with raising his son, Glar Ulchtar , while he was absent for a large part of his childhood. One thing even Alois is not aware of is Jej Ulchtar’s double identity as the Sith Lord Darth Exalton.
