One of the oldest known species on the planet, the Forest Lions have etched themselves into the legend and mythology of the Akaran people. They have stalked the forests for millenia, adding to their mystique. They have been domesticated by more affluent families across the planet for generations. One notable domesticated pack has belonged to Imperial families since it's beginning. This single pack is the only known group to sire Force sensitive individuals that have been used as palace guards and show-pieces for the Empress.

- Distinctions: Akin to any number of feline species across the Galaxy, these animals are the largest land predator native to Akarui. The species as a whole are large and muscular animals. No known differences in regional packs have been documented at this time. They start life as a cub, and slowly mature (normally between 30 - 40 years) into a full adult.

- General behavior: Raised in packs, centered around an alpha female who is the center of the their family structure. The alpha will allow only the strongest and most successful males to mate with her and bring in the best genes for species survival. The packs are extremely close-knit and will defend the young and alpha til death. Young are raised pretty rough, normally learning from watching the males in action before attempting the act themselves. Also, if a young female is birthed into a pack, she has a limited amount of time after maturity to part ways and form her own pack, or be killed and eaten as she is seen as a threat. They are hunters by nature, and will easily bring down any big game utilizing pack strength and tactics. The ones that are brought into domestication are loyal and powerful companions, protecting families for generations as they normally form their own packs while as pets. They are also trusted by the royal family and have been since the discovery of a pack that sired offspring with special abilities.
