OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION

SETTING INFORMATION
  • Star System Name: Adytum
  • Region: Colonies
  • Affiliation: The Renascent Republic
  • Accessibility: An isolated star system in deep space, it was chosen due to its isolation. Although it has begun opening up recently due to its interactions with the Galactic Alliance and the broader galaxy, the Renascent Navy continues to guard and patrol the system.
  • Description: A small, secluded system featuring three planets orbiting Renascence, a yellow dwarf star.
SYSTEM INFORMATION

  • Size: Small - The system contains but three planets, all of which are habitable, and each featuring at least one moon.
  • Wealth: Medium - The system's settlement and construction was endowed by the extensive fortune of Natasi Fortan, and now as the system begins trading and welcoming new settlers, business and trade has continued to contribute to the financial stability and economic growth of the system.
  • Major Imports: Technology (machinery, computers, advanced vehicles, etc., chemicals, foodstuffs, luxury goods
  • Major Exports: Raw materials like lumber, stone and marble, durasteel and other ores, precious metal ores, precious stones
  • Unexploited Resources: Rare-Earth Materials found in asteroids not yet tapped by the Renascent Republic. Not all moons have been explored for resources.
  • Hyperlanes: N/A

SOCIAL INFORMATION

  • Population: Sparse - with the system beginning to open up, more settlers have begun to arrive to add to the comparatively small group of colonists. As of 900 ABY, approximately 25,000 people live in the Adytum System, with several hundred arriving each month.
  • System Traffic: Moderate - While not especially heavily traveled, the Adytum System has a healthy stream of trade traffic and new settlers.
  • Demographics: The system is primarily populated by humans, although there are no species restrictions as to settlement, and aliens are not unheard of.
  • Native Species: Fish, game, and other wildlife. No higher-order sentient species are native to the Adytum System.
  • Immigrated Species: Humans, Chiss, and others
SYSTEM FEATURES
  • Adytum - the star around which the Adytum System revolves
  • Eos - the first planet, a habitable world with a equatorial desert with the climate becoming more temperate the closer one gets to the poles
    • Fides - the moon of is tidally locked such that one side is always facing Eos and the other always faces away.
  • Aegis- the capital world of the Renascent Republic, Aegis is a lush and temperate world, featuring broad purple-green grasslands, large oceans, and plenty of freshwater lakes and rivers. The poles feature permafrost and glaciers.
    • Metis - the first and larger of Aegis' two moons. It has a breathable atmosphere and the beginnings of settlements around a promising gemstone mine.
    • Tyche - the second and smaller of Aegis' two moons. It has a breathable atmosphere and a volcanic history, leading to rich and fertile soil. The Republic plans to develop it intoa breadbasket for the system.
  • The Hesperidean Belt - an asteroid belt that, based on preliminary surveys, contains several asteroids holding substantial precious metal deposits. In the right circumstances, flashes of gold can be seen from sunlight reflecting off surface gold deposits. The Hesperidean Belt is heavily patrolled by the Renascent Navy.
  • Elea - the third and final planet in the Adytum System, Elea is cooler than its sisters, with an atmosphere of frequent precipitation, with rainy springs and summers and snowy winters, with the effect getting more pronounced the closer to the poles one gets. The equator is fairly temperate, if cool.
    • Soteria - the larger habitable moon around Elea, surveys have revealed that it contains extensive caves overgrown with beautiful dark cerulean crystalline growths. These crystals have not yet been analyzed for their composition.
    • Astraea - the smaller moon around Elea. It is tidally locked, always showing one face to the planet of Elea.

SECURITY
Medium
- owing to its former status as a clandestine refuge from the collapse of the First Order, the Adytum System maintained an early-warning system along the most likely routes to the planet. With the opening of the system to trade and settlement, these sensors have been repurposed as a perimeter alert network, monitoring traffic into the system. The Renascent Navy maintains several small capital-class ships as well as a slew of smaller craft, including starfighters. There are regular patrols throughout the system.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Shortly after her apparent resurrection, Natasi Fortan set about to implement a successor to her original Project Aeternum -- the think tank-cum-continuity of government-cum-genetic vault that had resulted in her own cloning -- to preserve the ideals of the the second iteration of the First Order. Project Renascence was born, and Natasi brought trusted individuals into the project, including Roudac Gannan and Renata Westaway. In 883 ABY, after an extensive search for a secluded system that could remain isolated, the trio chose the Adytum System. They set about to implement the plan to recruit those most ideologically dedicated to the tenets of this iteration of the First Order, to slowly build a base of operations and a kernel of dedicated people in the even that the First Order should face trouble.

Shortly before the First Order collapsed for its second time, Natasi went missing. Sensing difficulty, and knowing how quickly a situation like that could deteriorate, Dr. Westaway accelerated Project Renascence. When the First Order collapsed into feuding and factionalism, Renata fled to Aegis, where the colony was small but flourishing. With the sizeable endowment provided by Fortan, the colony was able to purchase defensive equipment like vehicles, as well as other supplies.

At the time of its settlement, the Adytum System was not quite on the borders of the Galactic Alliance. Its location was chosen for its seclusion and ability to remain hidden and isolated, not its proximity to other galactic powers. However, as the Alliance expanded, it became clear to the Renata Westaway -- by then, Prime Minister of the functioning government administering the system -- that it was only a matter of time before they were discovered. While discussing what measures to take, Natasi Fortan escaped from the Nether and, upon hearing of the First Order's fate, made her way to the Adytum System. The women decided that the correct choice of action, morally and ethically, was to alert the Galactic Alliance to the Republic's presence and explain everything -- all very above-board. Along this vein, the Adytum System was opened up for settlement in the latter half of 900 ABY, and is currently petitioning for membership in the Galactic Alliance.

Reason for Moving to Codex Modification: Incorrectly listed region as 'Expansion Region' rather than 'Colonies' where it is intended to be; I just want to correct the location.
