"ENOUGH"
A hush fell across the Senate floor as a familiar voice rang out. And then stepped from the entrance was a man cloaked in a brown robe, a hood covering his head and most of his face. But anyone who had heard him speak before knew who this man was... The former Vice Chancellor and Acting Interim Chancellor, Philip Joseph Halen.
"Alena Beswin. As usual, blasting people once they've left I see" he said with a slight smirk as he walked in, taking his old position. "You forget the fact that this is the Senate that attempted to IMPEACH it's Interim Chancellor. Obviously having no leader is no skin off your arses if you're willing to impeach yours before elections even begin" he said. "As for this bill.... Since you OH SO BADLY need your leaders two cents... Employed or not, my answer is no. Using Palpatine is a poor example, wherin ANYONE with a plot such as his could have destroyed the Republic, Force Sensitive or not. This is not the answer to our problem. Better security is" he said firmly.
"You Senators, I'm disappointed in your actions since I left. And trust me, I've been keeping careful track" Halen said firmly. "For a Senate who made it so clear that they could do this job easily without me, you've done absolutely NOTHING since I left" he said in a harsh, disappointed tone.
"And speaking of which... I'm a guest of Mr. Yusan here" he said, giving a slight smirk to @[member="Yusan Fenn"]. "I could have been a Sith Lord, walked in here and murdered you all. You know why? There was no background check on me. No security check. Nothing. I just walked in like it were nothing, just like those Sith Lords did before" he said. "I hold no allegiances to anybody anymore. But I was a Jedi Master, as quite frankly everybody figured out by now after I sensed your Sith in the Senate... Which by the way you have done NOTHING about" he said, shaking his head. "It's kind of funny, really. That two former Jedi Masters do a better job running the Senate then the Senate does without them, even when the Senate wanted them both gone, then sat on their heads when they got what they wanted"
"But back to what I was saying... There hasn't been any investigations into this Sith in the Senate. There hasn't been anything done to eliminate this threat to our Republic. Hell, I even heard one of you said "Oh, but what can one Sith do?". I'll give you a hint. She's running for Chancellor and if she wins, you're ALL doomed" he said, shaking his head.
"Quite frankly... While I was gone, I did more work for the Republic and the Senate then ANY of you did while I was gone" he said, and a grin crossed his face. "I did some background checks.... On ALL of you" he said with a smile. "And while I was off planet on my little vacation.. I did some investigating on some people I was suspicious about"
He chuckled a bit. "You'll be surprised as to what I found... Especially seeing as the one I was suspicious about the most was a little TOO obvious with her files... Someone didn't bother consulting their history before trying to sneak into the Senate"
"You see, my dear Senate... As I made obvious, there were two people in this Senate who I tagged as Force Sensitive. And while I did background checks on all of you while I was gone, much of my investigation was tailored to those two. And while both subjects are a tad... Interesting... I found our Sith"
"But since none of you bothered to do any sort of investigation... Only one person here holds the cards. And that man will be the one who actually contacted me and invited me here"
And as he said this, he walked over to @[member="Yusan Fenn"], and whispered a name into his ear.
"Now, if you'll excuse me" he said as he straightened up. "Since Yusan has kindly given me free reign to do as I please here, I'm going to go flirt it up with the kindly secretary here" he said with a grin. "It's something I've wanted to do for awhile, but since I was in office, it wouldn't have looked right of me"
"But before I go..." he said. "Harkness" he said, looking dead in the eyes of @[member="Jack Harkness"]. ".... You're an idiot. You're overambitious and you're a bitter old nerf herder. But you have more of a spine then your Supreme Chancellor running competition" he said with a smirk. "You have my support. But my advice? Grow up, grow up and HELP this Republic" he said. "I know you're capable of it. But you need to wake up and smell the coffee, because we need a leader that WANTS to HELP this Republic, not sate their own ego. If you can do that, then the Republic is in good hands if you win" he assured.
"If anyone needs me... I'll be in the lobby until 5 visiting friends"
And with that, the former leader walked out without another word.
