Achievement Unlocked: Gun of Permakill

I think this gun shouldn't even be necessary. Coming back to life is a cheap device to say you were fair and 'killed' your character but can continue writing them. It's lame enough that 98% of the Forcies here are [unfairly] invincible to NFUs as it is. This is bad storytelling because it makes death inconsequential, and therefore everything inconsequential.

In the movies, Jedi and Sith die.

And they never get back up.

I've accepted this fact.

I don't recommend destroying someone's personal weapon that way without consent of the owner, especially when the tech sub itself has safeguards against that kind of tomfoolery. Simple solution if you want to avoid the embarrassment of getting nope'd while trying to take back your own death: Don't do things that get you to write yourself as dead if you aren't prepared for that eventuality.
I unfortunately don't recall there being a rule that personal possessions such as weapons, ships, vehicles, etc. have the same rights of not being destroyed/taken without consent as PCs. I'd assume that past experience using the Rave character would indicate such.

I truly hope I am that kind of a person who doesn't need this kind of weapon to be used. I know what I used as a way to start playing with [member="Darth Malificete"] again was not logical, and it's against my opinion of good storytelling, but I must admit, it was the only way to bring her back. But she wasn't killed by another PC, so I am sure it's not that much of a problem.

But some people just seem to have duels and fights and whatever else and either they never die, or they die and then come back to life. Always. So yeah, like you can see, I don't support coming back after being killed by a PC, but I do if it's needed to bring an "unfinished" character back.

Or I'm just a bit selfish. But I am not too sure. :p

If a report comes in that someone's autohit destroying people's weapons in their hands or holsters, guess what, that's still an autohit. IE, godmoding. That report would pretty likely be upheld, as you know.

I agree with you, as does the creator of this gun I'd wager. The only issue is the gun wasn't in preparation to deal with an eventual problem. It was made to deal with something that's already happened. I can think of at least two instances of characters dying, and then coming back to life when they don't have the talent/training, or sufficient threading to prepare/learn how to essence transfer. Furthermore, a good portion of the board has sadly moved past "The Movies". All the Mandalorians have Beskar'gam, people were Terentatek Leather coats to stop from being pushed by the Force, Jedi wear armor in general, the typical board skillset isn't "Saber+TK+Mind Trick+Lightning(If High Level Sith)". It's sad, but it's a reality on the board as we can't very well just poof away everyone's skillset and armor without mass riots and a general exodus from chaos.

But, in the spirit of the Good Ol' Jedi I'm going to put one of my favorite gifs here, courtesy of @MSE-007.

It could be as simple as a droplet or two of blood on the weapon. Regardless of the extraneous circumstances, this weapon concerns me, particularly considering a conversation I had recently with the only other holder of such a weapon.

There are two holders of such a weapon, your information is inaccurate.

That people are so scared of this gun is rather disconcerting.

There is only one reason anyone would be distraught over this technology.

You get my point. No need to be rude about it...
I was merely letting you be aware of the more wide-spread nature of the weapon

In anycase, if you are so concerned about such a weapon existing why don't you challenge me with a blaster, and earn it for yourself? One less weapon to be used against you.

Aww. C'mon! It'd be an amazing duel! It will be glorious! The things legends are made of. Our children's children will speak of it. Generations of people will weave tales and song!

Man, it would be very fun to write. I don't think Asemir has ever had the pleasure to fight Ashin.

Me, I welcome it, and not just 'cause I made it. See, I've had a character or two over the years who've had legitimate grounds to cheat death, and it gets old, to the point where I've had to get creative in permakilling my own characters. Velok, for example, got soulbound to a necklace worn by the Master who beat him, who then left the board. That's as permanent as I could make it.

But NOW I have OPTIONS. :D

Spencer Jacobs Armor : Here's another good one guys. Try fighting against this NFUs. An ultrachrome bodysuit designed with a quality 0 energy rating in order to take advantage of Master Level Energy Absorption. Min-Max dat genre gurl. She be talking all your hits. She be eating all your lightning. Pew pew pew.

Rave Merrill, you so funny. You be all like, 'We need rebalanced combat'. Then you be all building all the FU buffs yourself. Lulz. What is your motto these days? "Plee for movie combat. But build to Min/Max the EU." Where's the luv gurl. Where's the luv. :D :p

P.S. I kinda want that Spencer Armor now too. <3

You mean the armor that's pretty much worthless against a revolver, a club, or a stiff breeze, not to mention a total deathtrap if the wearer gets distracted? You mean the 'build all the FU buffs' agenda that's seen me make over a dozen tech subs, many of'em open market, to give NFUs a prayer against the kind of overpowered Force attacks that people chuck like peanuts from a gallery? Yeah. I'm really powergaming here.

I'd rather simply develop something to counteract and/or destroy the weapon instead. Much more challenging.

No.

You scare me.
Wait, it just occurred to me, is this universally true? Is this why I can never get an RP going? I scare people? :(

You wound me, sir. [member="Ashin Varanin"], you have successfully defeated a Force Master with just your words. :'(
