"Well, uh… go ahead and make yourself at home, then."

With that, Braze left the area and padded off toward the galley.

It was hard to make herself feel at home. Chi'no was not made for this sort of environment. She was just a regular, ordinary person. It seemed like so often that the extraordinary were the ones who had the power to make the decisions that changed the course of the galaxy around them. To that end she was just a passenger, helpless to fight the current that was sweeping her away. That Kathar couldn't even be bothered to respond to her outburst. Why even bother in the first place then?

After a moment of laying there on the bed, Chi'no finally moved to pull open her shoulder bag. Inside were what few belongings she had left, mostly her changes of clothes and a handful of personal items. It wasn't a lot, given that most of it had been lost when she couldn't get back to her apartment on Sacorria.

Alongside all of it was a lone picture. Two adult Twi'lek and a shorter child.

"Daddy... why is everything on the holo always so scary? Is the whole galaxy like that?"

"Well... it's not so bad, Chi Chi. Things may seem scary, but it's just to encourage good people to work together. Everything becomes less scary when you aren't alone."

"Is that why you've been scared? Because Mommy wants to leave you alone?"

"..."

Chi'no let out an exhale as she tucked the picture back into her bag. So much for finding good people to make the galaxy less scary. All she could seem to find was a cold, empty place where normal people were powerless.

In retrospect, that was what probably scared her father more.

As instructed by the bounty, Chi'no was to be brought to Sacorria's University for the Arts. It was a large tower on the agricultural world, surrounded by the rolling terraces that made up the backbone of the planet's economy. After the mass exodus from the planet, however, many of the fields were left yellow. Some had been sabotaged by those who didn't want the Sith or Empire to have any of their food. Others were now withering do to neglect. Even so, the University tower still stood.

Awaiting for the delivery of their bounty.

"I can pay you now if you like,"
Braze chirped simply. "Would that appease you, oh great hunter?" Braze asked before moving to the freezer, where he selected a few sweet frozen treats and added them to a small dish before securing a lid over the desserts.

"That's all you care about, right? The pay? A job's a job, after all, and time is money, and you're all worried about wasting more time, huh? I'll see to it you're given your share, and a little extra for all the trouble and suffering you've had to endure aboard my vessel. You'll have your credits within the hour; of that, I can assure you…"

He moved to carry the tray out of the room, leaving the mean cat lady by herself as he went to check on the 'acquisition.'

He held no interest in the bounty for what it was, though he understood the bounty hunters' code well enough. To some of them, it was merely a job: skills exchanged for credits so they could keep food on the table. Even so, he disliked treating the girl as property to be bartered over, and he liked the idea of whatever sleazeballs had placed a bounty upon her for educational debts even less.

Soon enough, he would show them precisely how he felt about that.

For now, however, a meal might offer some small measure of comfort. With the tray held carefully in both hands, Braze made his way back toward the Haven Suite to deliver it to her. He knocked on the door to the roiom she seemed to have chosen.

Kivah got up to follow Braze, leaving her dinner behind. "If you had the cash sitting around, why didn't you just buy me off in the first place? Also, are you sure you aren't projecting?" She snagged one of the desserts for herself, "Because you're bringing up a lot of stuff I've never mentioned. As if I'd want to stay around someone so insulting. Or is that just how you flirt?" She gave him a smile as he left the room, certain now that he'd never been poor, or at least poor enough to wonder where his next meal was coming from.

Peeling the top off, Kivah enjoyed a few bites of the ice cream, giving Braze a slow count to thirty as she ate before tossing the remainder of the dessert into the trash and followed him. She never got within sight, simply following the smell of Braze and the food, while occasionally passively reaching out with the Force to get a feel for the surrounding life forms and their moods. Once she was certain she knew where Chi'no Su was hiding away, Kivah turned and chose another path, wandering through the ship until she wound up back in the hangar. Not having anything else to do, she lay back in the curves of Braze's fighter and played around on her commlink, got some music going, checked her messages, and, caught up on a few serials.

As Chi'no heard a knock at her door, she hesitated for a moment before answering. Did her giving permission to enter even matter here? She seemed to have very little power over anything that happened. Well, at least they were being polite.

Finally, she responded.

"You can enter..."

Braze would find her laying in the bed, shoes still on, her gaze fixed on the ceiling. Just... staring.

What else did she have to do.

Braze cast her a flat look over his shoulder squinting at Kivah Kivah

"Buy you off? You accused me of murder before I had finished speaking, pulled my clothes over my head, opened fire in a crowded bar, and ran off with the girl. At what point, precisely, was I supposed to stop and ask your rate?"

His gaze dipped toward the stolen dessert in her hand before returning to her.

"And I'm not projecting. You called her a payday, asked whether she had enough credits to bribe us, and complained about wasting your time. I drew a conclusion... I don't particularly enjoy watching people reduce someone's life to a price tag." He stated simply.

A coy smirk etched his features though it was likely difficult to understand why, "As for flirting… no. I was being rude. If I were flirting with you, ~kitten~ I would be much nicer, and you wouldn't have to ask."

He sighed when she finally departed his side and went to go deliver the meal.

"Hey... I brought you some food. There's desert too if you like. " He moved to set it down on the small table by the front door.

Lying on the fighter, one leg propped up over her knee, idly kicking her foot in the air. Kivah was only half paying attention to the latest chapter of "My Life Is Just As Wrong As I Expected After Traveling to Another World Where I'm Surrounded By Cute Girls At A Magical High School And Am Also The Fabled Hero of Legend, But Before I Tell You That Story I Have To Tell You This Story, In Which I Was Walking Along With My Unbelievably, Impossibly Cute Younger Sister Who Doesn't Like Me At All, And She Said To Me It Was My Fault She Wasn't Popular No Matter How She Looked At It As We Walked To School Together, And We Stopped To Look At A Garden, Which Had A Flower Whose Name I Don't Remember, When Suddenly A Portal Opened Up To Another World And When I Landed In A Field And My Face Was Buried In The Largest Pair of Boobs I'd Ever Seen, And My Sister Hit Me And Called Me An Idiot While Blushing, But Then The Girl I Landed On Saw The Birthmark On My Hand And Gasped And She Grabbed My Hand And I Blushed But She Started Dragging Me Away And My Sister Got Mad And Chased After Us And I Asked Where We Were Going, And She Said She Was Taking Us To Grimheart Magic School, Where She Was The School President, And Then I Gasped Because I Was Now In A Magical World, And When We Got To The School Which Was A Giant Castle I Asked The Girl What Her Name Was And She Said It Was Akane Yuusha, Which I Thought Was A Tad Strange Since She Had Blonde Hair And Blue Eyes And The Entire Aesthetic Of The School Seemed Very Ancient European, But I Forgot About All Of That When She Told Me We Needed To See The Headmaster Because She Had Been Taught That The Mark On My Hand Was The Symbol Of The Reincarnation Of The Legendary Dragon Hero Of Legendary Literature, And I Said That Was A Cool Thing To Be Taught Because At Our School The Only Book We Learned Was Atlas Shrugged, And She Asked What That Was And I Told Her It Was The Book Our Society Based Its Philosophy On A Speech From, And She Asked Me To Recite The Speech, Which I Did, And The Speech Went "For Twelve Years You Have Been Asking… " to instead mull over the last bit Braze had thrown at her. Like, he had been super rude, especially the way he always tried getting in the last word in as he walked away, but she didn't remember calling Chi'no a payday. The worst she'd done was equate her to cargo, right before that brat admitted to having planned not to carry any passengers. So it was a bit weird he was claiming the moral high ground when he'd intended to bring the bounty he was hunting in dead. And then claim to hate bounty hunting. And how had he expected people to react when he walked into a bar wearing more armor and weapons than a Mandalorian only to try and snatch her bounty?

Kivah grinned to herself, little prick was running her playbook from back in her Kor'ethyr days. Putting words in her mouth and blaming her in ways that misconstrued what she'd actually done or said. Kinda like her sister had when they were kids, always clawing for the moral high ground. But she knew the hard counter to all that. Content for now, she got back to her story.

"Hey... I brought you some food. There's desert too if you like. "

"..."

Chi'no didn't respond immediately. She just laid there with her eyes fixed on the ceiling. After a moment she spoke. It wasn't snappy or frustrated like she had been in the hangar, just a bit deflated. Maybe confused.

"Did I do something wrong to deserve this?" she muttered. "I... didn't think I was a criminal..."

It wasn't even for lack of trying. She was probably to anxious to even commit a crime.
