PRODUCTION INFORMATION
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
  • Classification: Orbital Autocannon
  • Size: Extremely Large
  • Weight: Extremely Heavy
  • Ammunition Type: Power Capacitor
  • Ammunition Capacity: Extremely Small
  • Effective Range: Battlefield
  • Rate of Fire: Very Low
  • Damage Output: Extreme
  • Recoil: Extreme
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Designed to work against heavily shielded opposition (ships, stations, military installations)
  • Designed to momentarily disrupt shields allowing shots to pass through
Strengths:
  • Overwhelming Force: Designed as a pure hammer, the autocannons are meant to with one shot obliterate enemy opposition in the form of orbital stations, facilities or large ships.
  • Shield Disruptor: A focused beam that is used to let the shots bypass shields for a short time.
Weaknesses:
  • Build up: Spinning up the batteries takes awhile, with a heavy charge for both the cannons and for the disruptor beam.
  • Single Shot: Not designed to rapid fire but linked between two cannons to ensure the shots get through
  • No Tracking: The linked cannons are designed as super heavy cannons. Slow to fire, slower to move and adjust aim wise and without advanced tracking or homing requiring the shots to be spot on so not to waste the shots.
  • Bracing: The shots when fired have heavy recoil that can bend the superstructure of ships if they are not properly reinforced.
DESCRIPTION
Designed based off of a first order autocannons set on dreadnoughts. The heavy cannons have been upgraded somewhat with energy wrapped heavy slugs tipped in baradium with field disruptors in the shells. Designed to detonate on impact and cause large scale damage. These were part of Sala'dine's mandate with her improvements to several Saotome ships and systems. A means to ensure that they wouldn't need to fire more then possibly one or two shots to bring those trying to fight back to the table for negotiations.

The cannons shells are powerful and require a massive support structure to absorb and handle the heavy recoil. THe lack of guidance systems for the shots means it is fired off and hoped it will meet its target instead of being able to make adjustments. Its output is also below the normal for weapons as firing off more then two shots can take a handful of hours with the heat sinks needing to cool to prevent warping and the power to collect again. Several ships are recommended to have the guns with only one firing them so the others can be kept in reserve.

Heavily used on their largest ships, the autocannons were massive and powerful designed as substantial fleet killers in what they would be abel to do smashing into ships or being used on stations. The cannons have been improved to be installed on faciltiies to fire into space at ships as a defensive cannon, mounted on ships as a powerful set of cannons or on stations for heavy defensive measures. Sala'dine has worked on many things with it but being able to produce extra cannons for others who have and use with their ships. The powerful cannons can be scaled for fighters.
