Biography:

Early Life and Frozen in Time

Aaralyn Rekali was born in the year 30:2 after the Great ReSynchronization (5 B.B.Y) to Ember Rekali and Kryslin Ledias. She was born on Dathomir in the Singing Mountain Clan and was raised primarily by her grandmother, Kaatje until she was six months old when Kryslin returned to Dathomir to retrieve the baby Aaralyn. From there she was raised by her grandfather Kaelan and step-grandmother Bryn in the coastal city of Tyrena. The younger life of Aaralyn was filled with wonder as she began to discover her Force powers at an early age, eventually attracting the attention of the Whipid Master Jedi named L’hnaar. From the moment she began discovering her Force abilities, her life would never be the same. Typically, her outbursts occurred during fancy Imperial dinner parties, which wasn’t for the best of the Leidias family. From ripping a piece of fruit from the mouth of a rotund Moff whom took it off her plate to shattering the champagne glasses after a rude Imperial Colonel scolded her for her behavior.

It didn’t take long for the Inner Circle of the Empire and the ISB to take interest in the activities of the Leidias family or the Rekali child. An incident happened in 35:3 after the Great ReSynchronization (0 B.B.Y), Aaralyn was playing outside her grandparents’ home when she was led astray by an ISB agent who disguised himself as a local fruit vendor. Aaralyn was lured out due to her love of fruit, so she foolishly followed him to the beaches of Tyrena where the ISB Agent attempted to kill her. Fortunately, Jedi Master L'hnaar was keeping a watchful eye on the young girl and intervened, saving her and killing the Imperial agent. It wasn’t but a few weeks after these strange events and the death of the ISB agent that the Empire sent a small Task Force into Tyrena, led by ISB Major Oniye Namada. By the time they had arrived at the Leidias Estates, Aaralyn had escaped with Jedi Master L’hnaar, unfortunately for her grandparents they were arrested for treason and all assets related to the Leidias family were seized. Shortly before the planet of Corellia went into lockdown, L’hnaar and Aaralyn snuck off-world and headed to the far reaches of the Outer-Rim, to the planet of Teth. There, L’hnaar would begin the training of the young Rekali and keep her safe from the Empire’s nefarious plans.

Being a Master of the Old Order, L’hnaar had established connections across Wild Space and the Outer Rim. He was able to set them up in an abandoned monastery on Teth. During her time under L’hnaar, she studied the Codex of Tython as well as the Holocron of Yoda which was given to her by Master L’hnaar. At the age of 15, Aaralyn went with Master L’hnaar to the hidden Jedi homeworld of Tython. When she arrived, she expected an enclave of Jedi who had somehow hidden from the Jedi Purge that was brought on by Emperor Palpatine in the year 16:3 after the Great ReSynchronization (19 B.B.Y) – this was not the case. She discovered the Grand Jedi Temple in the form of overgrown ruins, but bristling with the Light side of the Force and a few kilometers to the west was a large fortress that had an overwhelming presence of the dark side. This fortress was presumed to be the place Sith Lord Belia Darzu was killed in the year 1,195:3 before the Great ReSynchronization (1,230 B.B.Y).

During her time on Tython, Aaralyn immersed herself deep within the Codex of Tython, allowing the Light energies to penetrate the depths of her spiritual self. There, she had many visions about the history of Tython and the Jedi Order, to include the Masters who had walked the great halls of the Grand Temple. It was during one of her visions that she discovered the location of the Crystal of Light, a powerful Force artifact that had been a focal point of Lightside energy, a nexus so to speak. This Crystal of Light was a weapon used to enhance the abilities of a Jedi during the New Sith Wars and was lost a short time after the year 865:3 before the Great ReSynchronization (900 B.B.Y). Shortly after her discovery of the Crystal of Light, Aaralyn found herself in the presence of both Grandmaster Yoda and Master Obi-Wan Kenobi. Curious as to why they would be there, especially in a spectral form – considering she thought that once an individual had become one with the Force, that was it – she pressed why they were present. She learned that they were there to provide her instruction and guidance, much like they had many Jedi before her. Although she didn’t understand how such a thing was possible, considering their spectral state, she was eager to learn what she could from two great Masters.

After months and months of training under either Obi-Wan and Yoda, or both, Aaralyn began to regret her decision to put herself through such a grueling task. There were times where she became daunted and felt hopeless and in turn she would receive a lecture as to why it was important to pick herself up and continue, even to such an extent as to being chided by the wise Master Yoda. Thirteen long months passed before Master L’hnaar mentioned it was time for them to make haste back to Teth. He mentioned a Master Skywalker was searching the Galaxy for new students and that Aaralyn was ready to begin her life anew and begin exploring the Galaxy with people similar to herself. Aaralyn was 16 years old when she was introduced to Luke Skywalker and it was during his journey to discover new students. When they met on Teth, Aaralyn showed Master Skywalker both the Codex of Tython and the Holocron of Master Yoda, both of which he was surprised weren't destroyed during the Jedi Purge. Aaralyn had mentioned that Master L’hnaar had given them to her during her studies and in turn Master L’hnaar had retrieved them from Aaralyn’s father, Ember Rekali. Master L’hnaar explained to Master Skywalker that the Codex of Tython had been in the Rekali family for generations and they were destined to be the protectors of the artifact, however it was not known how Ember Rekali had obtained the Yoda Holocron. Aaralyn was able to continue to protect the Codex of Tython and the Yoda Holocron and was a part of the first twelve pupils in the New Jedi Order.

It was during the growth and expansion period that began in 53:3 after the Great ReSynchronization (18 A.B.Y) that Aaralyn left the Jedi Academy to assist in discovering new students for Master Skywalker’s Jedi Praxeum. Shortly after the signing of the Pellaeon-Gavrisom Treaty, Aaralyn and her detachment of Antarian Rangers were sent to investigate a distress signal near Koda Station regarding an vessel of unknown origin. Upon their arrival, Aaralyn’s vessel came under attack by the Yuuzhan Vong warship and due to the sudden “void” in the Force brought on by the presence of the Yuuzhan Vong, the Crystal of Light – A powerful Force artifact – detonated and destroyed the Yuuzhan Vong vessel. The Yuuzhan Vong weren’t the only causalities of the Force artifact, all members aboard the Republic warship were rendered incapacitated in some form. They were either killed by the explosion, lack of oxygen or blunt force trauma. Aaralyn managed to survive as she was at the epicenter of the Force anomaly and was thrusted into a chronostasis like sleep, where the Force itself protected her for over 815 years.

Thawed Out and Death

Aaralyn's history in the realm of Chaos has been one of legendary battles that held some of the most triumphant wins and epic losses. Her story started on Coruscant - when the Jedi and the Galactic Republic lost everything to the One Sith. From there, it blossomed into the prophecy of the Sword of the Jedi and how Aaralyn was told that she was the one to fullfill the prophecy of the Sword. Grandmaster Kiskla Grayson bestowed upon her a title of burden but also one of great responsibility - Sword of the Jedi. For many years, Aaralyn fought as the Sword - until Empress Teta where she engaged not one, or even two Sith Lords, but six of them. Using every ounce of might she had, she fought valiantly but was ultimately defeated and taken in by the likes of Darth Isolda where she was twisted and warped into the Sword of the Goddess - a twisted perversion of the Sword of the Jedi. The newly minted weapon of the One Sith had no memory of who she was or what she did - all she knew was darkness. She wreaked havoc across the stars until she came across her father and a bounty hunter named Skye Mertaal. The duel between father and daughter was gruesome and drawn out but eventually, Ember Rekali overcame the darkness within his last living child and rescued her from herself and brought her back to the Light. With the help of Boloon Murr, he was able to restore her memories and purge the darkness from her. The life of the Sword began anew, and her mission to eradicate the Sith started over.

Aaralyn continued to fight the One Sith on every front, until the Netherworld Crisis. During the Netherworld Crisis, she lost her family and was sent deep into the Netherworld and Chaos to find them. Shortly after the Crisis was over, Aaralyn took a break from the Sword duties and focused on her family - perhaps out of fear of losing them to a galaxy wide event again. A few months prior to her death, she picked up duties again and assisted the Galactic Alliance as well as the Galactic Republic in humanitarian work up until her death at the hands of an impatient war criminal leading the Galactic Republic forces at Roche. Aaralyn has made her way around the all too familiar Netherworld - where she is frequently visited by old friends and family alike.

Re-Emergence

IN PROGRESS

Personality and Traits:

Aaralyn was known for exhibiting an aptitude for mechanics and piloting, as well as demonstrating some of her family traits of stubbornness and impulsiveness. Aaralyn is easily frustrated but excellent at thinking on her feet. She is dedicated to the mission and finishing what she starts, both skill as a pilot and as a Jedi she has shown in many skirmishes and combat missions that she can face the true darkness that surrounds the Universe. As described by one of her former Masters, Aaralyn has an unusually cool and measured lightsaber technique, never wasting any unnecessary effort. Typically she strays from the traditional Jedi doctrine and can be a bit unorthodox in her mannerisms. She is known for her dedication to the Jedi and for those around her who she holds close, assisting them and the forces of Light by any means necessary.

Strengths:
Lightsaber Specialist: She is very diverse in different forms of lightsaber combat. This is due to the multitude of Masters she has had over the years.

Master of the Force: She has an immense knowledge of the Living Force, thus enabling her to tap into the pools of Lightside energy to push herself past the point of physical and mental exhaustion which is known as BattleMind. Another rare but deadly Force power which Aaralyn possessed was the ability to see complex Force ley-lines called Shatterpoints.

Legendary Trained: Aaralyn gained the extensive knowledge during her time on Tython. During this time, she was an apprentice to Obi-Wan Kenobi and the wise Grandmaster Yoda. Although their teachings came in a spectral form, it was just as grueling as if it were done in their physical forms.

Mechanically Inclined: She is very knowledgeable in the field of mechanics and piloting.

Weaknesses:
Emotionally Charged: She is prone to emotional distress and at times attachments. She has a tendency to be impulsive and stubborn.

PTSD: Aaralyn suffers from a type of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder from the chronostasis sleep, falling to the dark side and subsequent return as well as the tolls of war.

Rebirth (NEW)

Lightsaber Proficiency:

After training with several different Masters, Aaralyn became a skilled dueslist much like she was when it came to piloting or mechanics. When she first began training under Jedi Master L'nnarr and then Ember Rekali, she chose to specialize in Ataru. Utilizing the advanced skills of the lightsaber combat set which combined with her stamina and agility, made up for her inexperience overall. In addition to Ataru, she studied Shien, which was evident in her ability to accurately deflect blaster fire and well-developed reverse grip. She also incorporated Niman in order to push her Force abilities to their maximum potential in lightsaber combat.Over time and with the guidance of her masters, she began to study Soresu, implementing various elements of Ataru and Soresu in order to make up for Ataru’s weaknesses. During combat, her predominate style of fighting is a hybrid version of Ataru and Soresu, thus allowing her to be energy-efficient in long lasting fights.

Towards the end of her dark journey and renewal in the Light side of the force, she began studying Shii-Cho and Niman, integrating various techniques within her combat style. Having a multitude of knowledge within the various forms of lightsaber combat enabled her to easily master the art of Jar’Kai, which she had demonstrated numerous times. Aaralyn continues to study various forms of lightsaber combat, and recently has taken up the interest in Vaapad.

Styles of Lightsaber Combat Mastered:
Form IV Ataru
Form II Makashi
Form VI Niman
Form III Soresu
Form VII Juyo / Vaapad
Styles of Lightsaber Combat with Advanced Knowledge:
Form I Shii-Cho
Form V Shien / Djem So
Jar'kai
Styles of Lightsaber Combat with Limited Knowledge:

Force Proficiency:

Due to the number of Masters and holocrons that Aaralyn has been exposed to over the years, she has a vast knowledge of the Living Force itself. She is a firm believer in the Light side of the Force and is willing to press herself to the physical and mental limitations in order to tap into the wells of the Light and untapped potential of the Force itself. Her father expanded on her Force knowledge by teaching her various powers that came naturally to her as a Dathomiri and enhanced her understanding of the dark side. Aaralyn was able to master her emotions when she fell from grace and become Darth Ira thus allowing her to utilize her Dathomiri powers with little to no consequence on her spectrum of light to dark. Her belief is that it isn't the power itself that manifests the dark side energies but the intent in which it is used, as Vapaad has been looked at as a dark side form of lightsaber combat, yet it is still practiced amongst several Jedi. Ember Rekali had also taught her the basics of White Current and ensured she understood the basics of reading the Current scribing - this way should she come across further teachings, she would be able to train deeper into the powers of White Current.

Melee Proficiency:

Aaralyn understood that there were times when the Force and even Lightsabers were unavailable in combat, therefore she had to have some knowledge in basic fighting skills. She took it upon herself to learn the basics of some of the finer arts of combat from across the Galaxy. Instead of becoming advanced in a wide variety of combat sets, she became proficient in three particular sets. She understood that combat with hands and feet would be more important, with grappling and tossing following a close second.

Melee Combat:
Tae-Jitsu
Echani
Broken Gate
